Seth MacFarlane Offers $1 Million Matching Reading Rainbow Kickstarter Donations
|
As you have probably heard, LeVar Burton opened up a Kickstarter campaign to get “Reading Rainbow” back into classrooms in order to help children read. In just 24 hours, Burton raised over one million dollars, so he extended the Kickstarter and hoped to raise five million. Since yesterday, the program has five days left, so Seth MacFarlane has decided to step in and help.
MacFarlane is now offering to match any donations after $4 million was reached — up to a total of one million dollars. What a generous guy!
Currently, the Kickstarter has four days left in its campaign, with $4,356,568 raised for its initial $1 million goal and boasts a total of 88,745 backers.
Even if fans of the program cannot afford to donate to the cause, Burton is urging them to share the following link on Facebook and Twitter to get the word out: “BIG NEWS! @SethMacFarlane will MATCH up to $1M in pledges to help @ReadingRainbow reach more schools. Pledge now @ http://bit.ly/rreverywhere”
