Seth MacFarlane To Host 2013 Oscars

It was a move that no one in Hollywood could have seen coming, but the news was announced yesterday that “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane is taking on hosting duties for the 85th Annual Academy Awards next February!

A Hollywood source said, “No one saw this coming. But I think he’s a great choice. It’s all part of that ongoing struggle to get younger people to watch the Oscars.”

Another source said that “other attempts to make the Oscars edgier and hipper have not always worked.”

Seth reacted to the news in his own statement, calling it “an overwhelming privilege. I will do my utmost to live up to the high standards set forth by my predecessors. I hope they don’t find out I hosted the Charlie Sheen Roast.”

Will Seth MacFarlane bring in the younger viewing audience that the Oscars so desperately desire? What do you think? Will you watch the show next February? Hit the comments and let us know your thoughts!
