Sheldon Stephens To Undo 'Elmo' Kevin Clash Settlement For $125,000

The whole story involving Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash and his accuser Sheldon Stephens is getting twisted and turned. In the beginning, Stephens claimed that Kevin and he shared a sexual relationship beginning when he was only 16-years-old. Since that caused a huge ruckus for Clash at his job, and for reasons unknown, Stephens opted to settle with Clash for the sum of $125,000. Thus, Stephens recanted his story and received the settlement after setting the record straight that their relationship was consensual AND an adult relationship.

Did Stephens hear that Clash is worth an estimated $12 million and that perhaps his settlement was merely a drop in the bucket of a huge fortune? Or is he really that concerned about the truth that he just wants it to be known? Or better yet, is this just a cash grab? We are skeptic as to his intentions now that he wants to forgo the settlement, give the money back and clear his name.

Stephens now claims that he was pressured into recanting his story and is now looking for lawyers to help him get out of the settlement. Per the legal documents, the agreement provides: “Stephens agrees that immediately upon the execution of this Agreement, his counsel, Andreozzi & Associates, P.C. shall release the following statement… ‘He [Stephens wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.'”

Stephens is currently interviewing attorneys in Los Angeles and is claiming that he was pressured into recanting his story. He claims that he was telling the truth in the first place when he said that he began the sexual relationship with Clash when he was sixteen. He also said that he would give back the $125,000 settlement and that he was crying the whole way through the negotiations and did not want to sign the agreement.
