Skylar Laine Eliminated From ‘American Idol’

Skylar Laine Eliminated From 'American Idol'

On tonight’s elimination episode of “American Idol” we said goodbye to another hopeful: Skylar Laine has been voted off of the popular singing competition. Ugh. We recapped the entire show tonight LIVE right here.

On Wednesday night’s performance episode of the show, she took on “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Jennifer Lopez said that she has so much energy and that she attacks every song. The judge also said that she is a natural with her stage performance and she is fearless. Steven Tyler said that she loves the music and the music loves her. Randy Jackson commented that CCR would be proud of her performance last night. He also added that she is comfortable with entertaining on stage.

Later on Wednesday night, Laine performed Dusty Springfield’s track, “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me.” Jackson commented that she is peaking this week and just at the right time. Lopez said that she could feel that Laine wanted to win the competition. Tyler said that it works when she works it and that she did a good job.

Still, all of the praise wasn’t enough to keep Skylar on the show. After it came down to being between Skylar and Hollie, Ryan announced that after the nationwide vote, Skylar had been eliminated from the competition. Afterward Skylar performed her version of Miranda Lambert’s song, “Gunpowder and Lead”.

Despite all of that, she will still be appearing on the Idols Live Tour this summer. Will you buy a record put out by Skylar Laine? Hit the comments and let us know if you think America got it right this time.

I’m very dissappointed that she was voted off.  The rest of the lot bore me so I really don’t see watching the rest of the season.  I might (or not) go to the concert this summer to see Laine.  The only other AI tour I ever went to was when Carrie one.  But, I’ll definitely buy her record when it comes out and will be at her first real country tour with whoever picks her up.

THANKS A LOT J. LO..FOR USING THE SAVE WHEN YOU SHOULD’NT HAVE. YOU ARE A SPECIAL INTEREST JUDGE. THIS IS AMERICAN IDOL NOT Q. VIVA, YOU MESSED UP THE SHOW AND THE ONES THAT WENT HOME COULD HAVE HAD ANOTHER CHANCE. LIKE COULTON AND NOW SKYLAR. YOU ARE TRYING YOUR BEST TO SEE THAT JESSICA WINS. YOU SHOULD FEEL REALLY BAD TONIGHT AFTER SKYLAR WENT HOME,SHE HAD NO CHANCE FOR THE SAVE TONIGHT. WHICH THE RULE SAID IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN USED FOR THE TOP FIVE. THE VIEWING AUDIENCE AT HOME ARE LOOKING VERY CLOSELY AT HOW YOU RATE THE SINGERS. AGAIN YOU AND JESSICA SHOULD FEEL TERRIBLE. IF I WERE THE OTHER REMAINING CONTESTANTS I WOULD BE REALLY MAD. JESSICA SHOULD FEEL OUT OF PLACE BECAUSE SHE SHOULD HAVE GONE HOME ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO..THATS MY COMMENT.

JESSICA IS A BETTER SINGER THAN SKYLAR  SKYLAR VOICE SOUNDS LIKE A BROKEN GLASS AND THATS WHY SHE WENT HOME THIS WEEKS ELIMINATION

Skylars voice is not like that! Jessica trys to act like a 35 year old singer and shes not! She is 16. She should have went home 2 weeks ago, like America wanted her to. She could of had many chances in the future to come back to idol

I really love Skylar also..she is very vibrant..and she gets the audience’s attention. She will definitely do well in her career. I will by her record as well. Jessica trys too hard. She needs to act her age..outfits are too grown for her. I think Skylar will have a successful career over her.

I will not buy Skylar’s record.  Her voice is not unique – just another country singer’s voice.  America voted well!

My God, Belle, obviously you’ve never been in the music industry just to see how physically and mentally draining it is. Skylar doesn’t need American Idol to sell records, she puts the fire into whatever song she does, country or not.  I’m with angel on this one, very very poor decision once again.
