Skylar Laine Eliminated From 'American Idol'

On tonight’s elimination episode of “American Idol” we said goodbye to another hopeful: Skylar Laine has been voted off of the popular singing competition. Ugh. We recapped the entire show tonight LIVE right here.

On Wednesday night’s performance episode of the show, she took on “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Jennifer Lopez said that she has so much energy and that she attacks every song. The judge also said that she is a natural with her stage performance and she is fearless. Steven Tyler said that she loves the music and the music loves her. Randy Jackson commented that CCR would be proud of her performance last night. He also added that she is comfortable with entertaining on stage.

Later on Wednesday night, Laine performed Dusty Springfield’s track, “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me.” Jackson commented that she is peaking this week and just at the right time. Lopez said that she could feel that Laine wanted to win the competition. Tyler said that it works when she works it and that she did a good job.

Still, all of the praise wasn’t enough to keep Skylar on the show. After it came down to being between Skylar and Hollie, Ryan announced that after the nationwide vote, Skylar had been eliminated from the competition. Afterward Skylar performed her version of Miranda Lambert’s song, “Gunpowder and Lead”.

Despite all of that, she will still be appearing on the Idols Live Tour this summer. Will you buy a record put out by Skylar Laine? Hit the comments and let us know if you think America got it right this time.
