Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group Grammy – Sugarland

Simon Baker from “The Mentalist” introduced Coldplay, who performed a song from their album, “Viva La Vida.” Jay-Z took the stage to rap while Chris Martin was plugging away at the piano. I’m really not feeling this crossover. The crowd cheered, but I’m still not feeling it. It got a little more lively after that, which was better. I’m still trying to figure out why Jay-Z was rapping during the slow part of the song….Anyone know?

Enough about that. Keith Urban got on the stage to give Gene Autry the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. He also introduced Carrie Underwood, who performed some country crap that I had to mute. Oh my God, her outfit was hideous. She was wearing some poet-like dress with some glittery S&M crap going on.

Cheryl Crowe and LeAnn Rimes took the stage to announce the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award to Brenda Lee for her contribution to music.

They also announced the Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group Award, with the winner being Sugarland for their song, “Stay”.

2009 Best R&B Album Winner – Jennifer Hudson

The 2009 Grammy Awards were in full effect tonight and U2 opened the show with their new song, “Get On Your Boots”.

Whitney Houston was on stage to present the Best R&B Album Award. She looked good and thanked “visionary”, Clive Davis.

Best R&B Album – Jennifer Hudson

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was on stage, acting like a dork, talking about Katy Perry’s song, “I Kissed A Girl”. He also told us of all of the people who would be performing tonight. The Rock is no comedian and he told a joke that really fell flat in Katy’s face.

Justin Timberlake took the stage and discussed Al Green’s music. Everyone is trying to be a comedian tonight and it’s not going over well. He introduced Boys 2 Men, Keith Urban, and Al Green, who all performed together, along with Justin. This performance is good, but the audio seems rather poor quality.
