Since the announcement that the movie rights to E.L. James’ book “Fifty Shades Of Grey” has been picked up, there have numerous rumors circulating across the internet about who should take the lead roles. Several actors have already spoken about taking the lead role of Christian Grey in the movie adaptation. “Vampire Diaries” actor Ian Somerhalder has expressed an interest in the role, along with Chris Pine and “True Blood” actor Joe Manganiello.

Now, another star is stepping forward to offer himself up for the role of the uber successful billionaire — Alexander Skarsgard. There is no question that he can pull off the hot and suave behavior as someone who is too rich and handsome for his own good. He plays Eric Northman on “True Blood” very nicely, but can it translate to “Fifty Shades”?

Skarsgard joked after hearing all of the saucy book’s details, “I was born to play that part!” Was he? He said, “Where do I sign? He’s got a sex chamber? My character has that on True Blood. He’s got this little dungeon.”

For all of the rumors that we’ve heard, who do you think should play Christian Grey?

At around July 2011, Alexander Skarsgard and Kate Bosworth broke things off after dating for two years. Right afterward, she was spotted with Michael Polish. It was even rumored that she was cheating on Alex with Michael. Now, Alex has been snapped with a mystery woman!

Last night, Alex was spotted arriving at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood with a new mystery lady. Who could it be?

Alex was hanging out with his True Blood co-stars at HBO’s 2012 Golden Globe Awards Afterparty, according to Gossip Center. The event took place at Circa 55 Restaurant in Beverly Hills, where Alex was partying it up with Sam Trammell, Evan Rachel Wood, Ryan Kwanten and Joe Manganiello. That sounds as if it were the place to be!

We’re not sure yet as to Alex’s mystery date’s identity. So please, if you know who she is, hit the comments and let us know! From what we’ve seen, it looks as if she’s an upgrade from Kate. What do you think?

True Blood stars Anna Paquin, Alexander Skarsgard and Stephen Moyer cover the latest issue of SFX magazine. We’re not complaining, it’s been such a long time since we’ve seen them on the cover of any rags. So, at this point, we’re going to pretty much take what we can get!

When dealing with sex-mad psychopathic vampires, we find it’s best to put them on the cover. They only get angry and make a blood mess otherwise. We’re celebrating the twenty things we love about True Blood as it returns to screens in the UK, and having civilized chats with Stephen Moyer, Joe Manganiello and Kristin Bauer Van Straten.

The magazine also speaks on The Twilight Saga, as well as The Walking Dead and other nifty shows — jam packed in issue number 216.

In other True Blood related news, we’ve learned that Kelly Overton and Louis Herthum will be joining the gang in Bon Temps — in recurring roles. Deadline reports:

Overton, repped by Innovative Artists, will play a dirty, beautiful werewolf named Rikki who demands to know what’s become of the pack leader. Herthum, repped by Main Title and Progressive Artists, will play a particularly large Marine-type werewolf who refuses to bow down before the new pack leader.

The actors from True Blood must get some strange requests from their fans, which include biting! But don’t count on Alexander Skarsgard to live up to the hype. Nope, he won’t bite you, Truebie, so get over it!

Alexander plays the Viking Sheriff of Area Five, Eric Northman. In character, he’s quick to bare his fangs, but in real life, he’s not having any part of it.

While he is grateful for the admiration bestowed upon him by his legion of fans (Team Eric!), he doesn’t want to bite them, as his character most certainly would.

In a new inteview with BlackBook Magazine, he said, “That’s one thing I’ll never really understand. But the main reason I don’t ever do it is because if I do it just once, every single person will be like, ‘Bite me! Bite me! Bite me!’”

He’s right. Once one fan spills the beans that they’ve gotten bitten by Alexander, it’s all over with. Still, there’s one place that he can go and not be troubled by silly requests, his native Sweden. This is where, he says, the folks aren’t stunned by his star power.

He said, “Not a single one of them is impressed by me. They’re happy for me, but they don’t give a f**k about that s**t. They could care less that they’re hanging out with a ‘celebrity.’”

Do you want Alexander to bite you?

Here’s Alexander Skarsgard’s ex-girlfriend, Kate Bosworth, out with her new beau, Michael Polish, going to a Coldplay concert. He looks a bit like a hobbit, doesn’t he?

It’s kind of like she’s trying to draw the camera’s attention from him by doing something stupid with her hair and wearing a see through shirt. That blouse reminds me of something you’d have to wear a tank top under after you’ve already cut out the shoulder pads.

He is giving the camera that look that says “I know I’m no Alexander Skarsgard….BUT” and then just leaves you hanging, because there really is no “but” there. There is no Alex replacement or clone in any situation.

She smiles as though she really thinks Alex is watching. I hate to break it to you, Kate, but he doesn’t give a crap what you’re doing or who you’re doing it with. You could be hooking up with a boat load of guys in Ronald McDonald costumes singing “Bad Romance” at the top of your lungs in the Thanksgiving Day Parade and Alex would say, “What’s for dinner?” and he’d still be more well liked.

True Blood hottie Alexander Skarsgard has revealed that he quit acting when he first got media attention — and it was all because he didn’t want to be famous!

He started his career in acting at the young age of only seven-years-old, but had to give it up when he decided that he “just wanted to be a kid.”

He siad, “My father is an actor and I kind of grew up backstage, but I never wanted to be an actor when I was a kid. I did something and when I was thirteen it got some attention and I didn’t like being famous. I didn’t want to be recognized. I was insecure. I didn’t like the attention. I didn’t want people knowing who I was; so to hear people on TV, radio talking about who I was and what I like was kind of confusing.”

At the age of nineteen, he joined the Swedish military and then went to college in Leeds, North England. Afterward, he decided to give acting another try.”

He added, “I don’t know, I just missed it. I was twenty years old, I’d lived in Leeds and I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life, and thinking about reasons for quitting, it was nothing to do with being onstage or in front of the camera. It was everything the commotion around me, so I thought I should at least give it a last try before I decide this is not what I want to do, so I don’t end up fifty-five and bitter because I never tried.”

We’re glad he came back to acting, aren’t you? Who else could they have gotten to play Eric Northman so well? No one, that’s who.

Attention ladies (and some men!) True Blood hunk Alexander Skarsgard has broken things off with his girlfriend, Kate Bosworth!

Alex is most known for playing racy vampire Eric Northman on the hit HBO series. He has ended his two-year-long relationship with Kate. A source said, “It was very mutual. And it happened a while ago.”

It appears that Alex has been enjoying his freedom post-split, as well. Comic-Con attendees saw the vampire hottie making eyes at a tall brunette during his appearance there with the rest of the show’s cast.

A source confirmed, “He’s single…and he is loving the attention!”

Did they get together to promote their long-awaited movie, Straw Dogs? I’d hate to call it a showmance for a movie’s sake, but it seems like that’s what it was. Was she only using him for publicity? What do you think?

True Blood’s Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgard revamp (ha!) the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly in their version of the famous American Gothic painting.

And if that’s not enough for you Truebies, we’ve also got the second and third versions of the covers, featuring Anna with Stephen Moyer and her with Joe Manganiello.

Alexander spoke of his female fanbase, saying, “I’ll never get used to that. It’s just very, very humbling and flattering. The character Eric means so much to me and I’m having so much fun playing him. Of course it means a lot when you meet fans and you can actually tell there are people out there who really do care about the character. It means something to you, then. That’s kind of why you do this whole thing.”

If you’ve been fans of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, then you know that the upcoming season is filled with nothing but Sookie and Eric goodness. Of course, Alan Ball has loosely based the hit show on the books, with season four dedicated to Dead To The World. In that book, Eric is cursed by witches and has amnesia. He takes shelter in Sookie’s house and completely devoid of power and politics, they fall in love. (And, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the shower scene!)

Alexander isn’t giving up any of the details on the upcoming season, but he did tell us one thing. He said, “I did some crazy stuff last year. I almost had sex with a Greek man and I was covered in his goo. Everything from here on is pretty childish. Everything’s quite innocent.”

The Greek man he’s referring to, of course, is Talbot, of whom he murdered as a retaliation to Russell’s murder of his human parents a thousand years ago.

Vampire sheriff of area five, Eric Northman does a campaign video saying that there have been a lot of politicians warning their constituents not to trust vampires, and he just wants the vamps to be treated the same as humans.

The promo for the fourth season of True Blood is here! Woot!

We had to post this for our wonderful friend Misty, who runs our sister site, Tragicomical (and Robyn, too). Misty has been sick lately, so we’re hoping that a good dose of Alexander Skarsgard shirtless as vampire Eric Northman will fix her right up! As for Robyn, she’s just lusting after our man!

Eric is suffering from amnesia in the video below and has forgotten his thousand years of hating all things human. He knows he’s a vampire, but that’s about it!

On the vampire series True Blood, Alexander Skarsgard plays the sheriff of area five, Eric Northman. Sometimes, the role calls for nudity – and Alexander is more than happy to oblige.

We’ve learned that once Alexander gets naked for the role, he stays naked for an entire eight hours. Co-star Kristin Bauer, who plays Pam, said, “He was once naked for about eight hours and he’s completely comfortable with it. He’s Swedish. My husband’s band toured in Sweden and he said that’s just how it is. There’s no puritanical background there. It’s nice because it makes all of us more comfortable with it.”

E! News has more:

Bauer says there’s no update on Skarsgård slipping into pink spandex on the show like his character does in the Charlaine Harris’ original Sookie Stackhouse book series. “He’s not in pink spandex yet,” she said. “If it doesn’t happen, I’m going to just beg him to do it just for me.”

As for Bauer herself getting naked again, she’s already preparing for it. “When I’m on hiatus I never go to the gym—never!” she admitted. “But after my first wardrobe fitting, I go four days a week.”

I can’t wait for season four already!

In September, we told you about how Alexander Skarsgard and Stephen Moyer were doing their Battle of the Fang, in order to raise money for their favorite charities. Well, Vampire Eric lost and we were waiting for the resulting photos to surface online.

Photos have surfaced of Alexander wearing the above t-shirt of Vampire Bill’s choosing, of course.

Nice! What a good way to raise money for charity!

In a new interview, True Blood vampire Alexander Skarsgard talked about fame, working Rihanna and Lady Gaga and, of course, being naked for the show.

The important part:

Why do I “love being naked”? [Laughs] Because I was born that way? I didn’t write the scripts but I don’t mind it if it makes sense. It’s about being comfortable and if it makes sense story-wise. The only time it can get awkward is if you feel exploited, like, “Why am I standing here naked?” and I’ve never felt that. There’s always a reason for it on the show and it’s always at great moments: fun, crazy scenes. So I really don’t mind at all. The Rolling Stone cover [see here] just happened on the day. We showed up and we shot very PG-13 with our clothes on for basically the whole day, like six or seven hours. Then towards the end the photographer said, “I have this, these shots are beautiful and the magazine is going to be happy with them but I’d like to try something if you guys are game.” He explained it and it was just one of those things in the moment where we all looked at each other, we’d spent all day with the photographer, we felt comfortable with him, we knew that he was great and the atmosphere was right and we were like, “Fuck it, let’s do it.” No one thought that the magazine would go for it. They want to sell at Walmart. We thought this was going to be too offensive. But I guess they did. [Laughs] I’m glad they did! I liked it a lot. It was definitely more interesting than the safe version…

Stephen Moyer has beat out fellow vampire actor Alexander Skarsgard in their Battle Of The Fang. In this battle, the winner gets to choose the slogan for a t-shirt to be worn by the loser. The proceeds of the competition were all donated to charity.

True Blood actor Alexander Skarsgard has revealed that he is insecure about his looks and doesn’t understand why people find him attractive. Um…okay, we’ll bite.

He said, “I’m insecure, like most people. I have days where I feel like the ugliest person on the planet. It’s not like I walk in a room and go, ‘Yeah, f**k I’m hot! Totally not.”

He doesn’t??? And just why not?

Also, in other non-related news, there is no new episode of True Blood tonight. So we have to wait a week to find out if Alan Ball is dumb enough to kill off Eric Northman. Ugh, these people.

Stephen Moyer, who plays Civil War era vampire Bill Compton on HBO’s True Blood, has revealed that he gets jealous over Anna Paquin’s on-set love talk.

Anna, who plays Sookie Stackhouse on the hit show, has some love scenes to film with co-star, Alexander Skarsgard, who plays Eric Northman.

He says that he finds it difficult to watch her spoken intimate scenes with Alexander’s character, as opposed to their raunchy sex scenes.

He said, “It could be a spoken scene, which is far more intimate than a physical love-making scene, and that’s sometimes tough to watch – just as it is for me to watch Anna do it with anybody else. But there’s an understanding that we are doing our job. We both get to read the script, so we get to talk about it before we attack those scenes.”

He also reveals that he’s happy to be able to think about the scenes through the perspective of an actor. He adds, “I think it must be incredibly difficult for couples where one partner isn’t an actor. They really don’t get you looking in someone else’s eyes and saying, ‘I love you’, or having sex or, even worse, being incredibly intimate.”

Who’s your favorite character on the show?

The torrid love bird trio on True Blood, Sookie Stackhouse, Eric Northman and Bill Compton all appear naked on the cover of the newest issue of Rolling Stone. And what else is new? Of course, they are all covered in blood.

The cover I want to see is the one with Alexander Skarsgard/Eric Northman, Joe Manganiello/Alcide Herveaux and Jason Stackhouse/Ryan Kwanten nude on the cover.

I think Rolling Stone or some other well respected publication needs to make this happen.

Rumor has it that Lady Gaga is trying to hook up with her “Paparazzi” lover Alexander Skarsgård. Oh really?

Another rumor floating around is that the reason she has been losing so much weight is so she will look super thin for him. An eyewitness on the set of her “Paparazzi” video said, “They draped fabric over her thighs and shot her backside with a softer lens. They did everything they could to hide her not-so-flattering areas.”

I call BS. She was never fat or even close to being overweight. But a friend said, “She’s already lost about 20 pounds. She says she is always hungry. She isn’t doing a specific diet. She just isn’t eating.”

As far as Alexander Skarsgård is concerned, the insider claims, “Alexander was her love interest in the video and he was apparently very open about being less than enthusiastic about having to kiss her during the shoot. Alex didn’t say anything to her face, but he made comments under his breath to crew members and made facial expressions that made it obvious that he was not into it.”
