Adam Lambert Says Clay Aiken Can Ride His Coattails

by on May.29, 2009, under articles

Snap! Clay Aiken slammed Adam Lambert saying that he wasn’t his “cup of tea at all” and that his Johnny Cash performance made his ears bleed, but that’s okay with Lambert. Even though Aiken later apologized, Lambert is really laughing it off.

He said, “I don’t know Clay. I’m glad he’s getting headlines now though, because he wasn’t before. If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him.”

Lambert made sure he cleared up the details surrounding the famous TextGate, where people thought that AT&T or some other party were giving votes to Kris Allen.

He added, “There are plenty of standards and practices set up where they make sure that there’s no, foul play. And I don’t think it’s a conspiracy. I think people are making a big deal out of nothing. A couple of employees handed out a couple of phones and showed people how to use them. I don’t think that’s a conspiracy of any kind.”

And there you have it!

Kris Allen & Adam Lambert Perform On ‘The Today Show’ – Videos

by on May.28, 2009, under articles

Adam Lambert and “American Idol” winner Kris Allen performed on “The Today Show” earlier today.

First, the guys talked about the show and how things have changed for them. Kris was also asked about “TextGate” whereas AT&T were said to have rigged the results in favor of his win on the show. Kris joked that he didn’t call AT&T and tell them that he needed more votes.

Adam said that he rolled his eyes when he heard the news and said that people are just looking for something to be dramatic about. He adds that there is no conspiracy, so relax.

And Adam says that he will not be working with Queen!

The guys also performed for the show, with Kris singing “Heartless” and Adam singing, “Mad World”:

Kris also sang the “American Idol” coronation song, written by Kara DioGuardi, “No Boundaries”:

I love how well they got along throughout the show and the results. It bodes well for both of their careers.

What do you think?

Bikini Girl Katrina Darrell Slams Kara Dioguardi

by on May.22, 2009, under articles

I guess Bikini Girl Katrina Darrell really wants to keep her fifteen minutes going, but seriously, someone should tell her that her time is up.

When she performed “Vision Of Love” by Mariah Carey on the season finale of “American Idol”, Kara DioGuardi came out and showed her up.

Not so, says Darrell, in a new interview.

When asked who has the better body in a bikini, Katrina said, “I’m not 50-years-old and I do spray tan.”

She was then asked what she was thinking throughout Kara’s performance, what was going through her mind? She answered, “Well, at first I’m singing, and I hear this voice and I had no idea where it was coming from. And I’m thinking is that Mariah? Nooooo. It’s not Mariah. Then I realized who it was. And then I didn’t know if I was supposed to keep singing, so I started to sing again, but then they had shut my mic off, and I’m like ‘Oh, well I guess she’s singing.’”

She goes on to say that she didn’t think that American Idol tried to embarrass her, but they tested her. When asked whether or not she thought if Kara should come back next year, she responded that she wasn’t sure why they added a fourth judge in the first place. She added that Kara’s ratings aren’t too good, so we’ll see.

Who do you want to see more of? Kara DioGuardi or Katrina Darrell?

Allison Iraheta Sent Home On ‘American Idol’

by on May.06, 2009, under articles

If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out last night’s “American Idol“, feel free to take a gander at my very detailed review here, along with the original songs that all of the contestants literally butchered.

I’ll have to preface all of this by saying that I was unimpressed by any of the singers last night. I’m a rock fan to the core, so none of the contestants could hold a candle to Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, or Aerosmith.

Having said that, Adam Lambert didn’t suck all that much with “Whole Lotta Love” and Allison Iraheta didn’t murder her song, “Cry Baby” too badly.

It came down to Danny Gokey and Kris Allen, in my opinion, for butchering Aerosmith and The Beatles, respectively. Then the two of them collectively butchered some Styx. Yay for duets.

Paula Abdul sang her new song, “(I’m Just) Here For The Music” on tonight’s show and she did as well as can be expected for a recovering drug addict. Is it me or it pure coincidence that she released that information after telling us so many times that she’s not addicted to anything, to further her own career? I guess that’s showbiz for you. Lip sync’d? You tell me.

In an ending note, Allison Iraheta didn’t make the cut, so you can expect to see her on the morning talk show circuit as early as Friday.

Matt Giraud Eliminated On ‘American Idol’ Tonight

by on Apr.29, 2009, under articles

It was Rat Pack Standards night on American Idol last night, with Jamie Foxx mentoring the wannabe singers.

Matt Giraud sang “My Funny Valentine” and even though he was saved by the first judges veto in American Idol history, he was given the boot.

What do you think? Was he given a raw deal or was it meant to be?

Oh yeah, Slash is mentoring next week’s show for ROCK WEEK. I may actually watch this one.

Lil Rounds Given The Boot On American Idol

by on Apr.22, 2009, under articles

Last night on American Idol, Lil Rounds busted out with her version of the Whitney Houston song, “I’m Every Woman”.

And wasting no time on the show tonight, Ryan Seacrest gave her the axe.

Next!

But I really did like her singing “What’s Love Got To Do With It” last week.

Scott MacIntyre Sent Home On American Idol

by on Apr.08, 2009, under articles

Scott MacIntyre was the latest victim of American Idol’s wrath.

After singing “The Search Is Over” by Survivor, the American Idol judges were divided.

He’s a good singer, yet this just wasn’t the song for him. My mom (who’s an avid watcher of the show), says that Anoop should’ve been the one to go.

Baby one more time

American Idol reject Danny Noriega covered Britney Spears’ song “Baby One More Time”.

Gross. And I thought this was bad. Now I think I need to go throw up. Try as he must, to stay relevant.
