‘American Idol’ Top Three Spoiler
by Jessica LeFevre on May.14, 2012, under articles

“American Idol” has dwindled the remaining competition from four contestants to three on last Thursday’s elimination episode. We saw the exit of Hollie Cavanagh and were left with Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet. In case you’ve missed the elimination episode, you can read our full official recap here.
According to sources, the remaining three competitors will be performing three songs each — each from three separate categories. The network has announced that the theme for Wednesday’s performance episode will be “choice”. In addition to “Their Choice”, the contestants will perform a “Judge’s Choice”, along with a choice from Jimmy Iovine.
Jimmy has offered a lot of critiques on the choices that the Idols have picked for themselves, so it remains to be seen as to whether or not his choice will throw the contestants off — or if it will separate the true talent from the others.
In the end, only one can win the title of our next “American Idol”. Who do you think it’s going to be?
Hollie Cavanagh Eliminated; ‘American Idol’ Top Three Visit Their Hometowns
by Jessica LeFevre on May.12, 2012, under articles

Despite being eliminated on Thursday night’s episode of “American Idol”, finalist Hollie Cavanagh does not regret choosing Bonnie Raitt’s hit song “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”
She said, “I love that song. It’s so beautiful and I’m glad I got to perform it. I definitely felt that song. It didn’t come across the way Jimmy wanted it to. That’s fine. I re-watched it and I do agree there were parts I could have expanded more. But I stand by it.”
Now that it’s all said and done, Hollie revealed that she would like to record a pop album. She said, “I would like my album to be on the pop side with a little bit of soul. I would like to make music that is one the top of the charts right now.”
Would you buy Hollie’s debut album? Now that she’s gone from the competition, who are you putting your support behind? Left in the competition are Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet — who are all going to their respective hometowns for their Hometown Heroes segment of the show.
Jennifer Lopez Flirts With Casper Smart During ‘American Idol’ Performance
by Noah Johnson on May.12, 2012, under articles

On Thursday night’s elimination episode of “American Idol”, judge Jennifer Lopez took to the stage to perform her newest single, “Dance Again”. She was joined on stage by her boyfriend and “lead choreographer” Casper Smart. Together, the couple brought the cuteness to the stage.
She showed the contestants how it’s done right before Hollie Cavanagh was announced as the eliminated contestant. She showed off her body in a sparkling leotard, tights and heels. During the performance, she was joined by Casper, who shared a racy and flirty bit with J-Lo.
Was Marc Anthony out there watching the show? On May 25, 2011 on the show’s tenth season finale, they were on stage together. He sang “Aguanile” while she danced. They ended that show with a kiss.
Still, Thursday’s flirting was cute, wasn’t it? The things that people will put out in the spotlight in order to promote a tour…
Phillip Phillips Thanks Fans For ‘American Idol’ Votes
by Megan Lindsey on May.11, 2012, under articles

The tension in the air on Thursday night’s elimination episode of “American Idol” was building as we learned that Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet were safe from getting the boot on the elimination show. It all came down to the wire when Phillip Phillips and Hollie Cavanagh were called to the stage to learn their fates just minutes before the show ended. In the end, the American public chose to send Hollie home instead of allowing her to advance to the final three. In case you’ve missed Hollie’s elimination, we’ve recapped it here.
After the elimination, Phillip took to his official Facebook page to say, “thank you everyone for voting and supporting me, i appreciate it so so so so so much….i cant thank you enough…im so blessed to have all this happen and i really mean it when i say thank you to you all.”
Hollie Cavanagh Eliminated From ‘American Idol’
by Megan Lindsey on May.10, 2012, under articles

On tonight’s elimination episode of “American Idol”, Hollie Cavanagh has been eliminated from the competition. After putting on a somewhat lackluster performance, it didn’t seem to be that much of a surprise that she would be going home tonight. In case you’ve missed the show, we’ve recapped it here.
On Wednesday night’s performance episode of the show, Hollie took on “Faithfully” by Journey for her “California Dreamin’” theme. Randy Jackson said that she did Steve Perry proud with her rendition of the hit song. Jennifer Lopez commented that she has grown and that she’s ready to share her gift with everybody. Steven Tyler said that he has watched her blossom and that her creativity has come around.
Afterward, she covered Bonnie Raitt’s hit song, “I Can’t Make You Love Me”. Steven said it’s how you say the words in a song as opposed to how you sing it, but felt that it fell a little short. Jennifer said that the song had too much vibrato and that her vocals went off on the song. Randy added that she needed a moment and there were no moments for him. He also said that it was the wrong song choice for Hollie.
In the end, America agreed with the judges and decided that it was time for Hollie’s journey on the show to come to an end. Did you agree with the results? Or do you feel that she should’ve been in the top three?
American Idol Recap: Elimination Results – Who’s Going Home 5/10/12?
by Lydia Harris on May.10, 2012, under articles

“American Idol” is back tonight with an all new elimination episode of the show. On last night’s performance episode of the show, we saw the top four contestants take on two songs. One of which was a song from an artist or band from California, while the other was an inspirational song with the contestants wished they’d written. In case you’ve missed the performances, we’ve recapped the show live here.
Tonight, four will become three as the competition is getting down to the wire. Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet seemed to really wow the judges last night, so we’re going to guess that they’re safe. Phillip Phillips (our favorite) impressed us with both of his covers, so that leaves Hollie Cavanagh. We’re guessing that after all of the dust settles, we will learn that her time on the show has come to an end.
We say that Hollie is in danger, primarily because she doesn’t even seem to be in the same league as the other singers. Stay tuned, however, as we could be faced with a shocking elimination tonight. Having said that, for tonight’s post we have used a photo from one of the best part of last night’s show. Cute, right? They’re up there butchering The Bangles — along with my childhood and Phillip and Joshua are swinging.
Watch this space — we will be LIVE-BLOGGING the show tonight at 8PM EST. In the meantime, tell us who you think is going home tonight!

It’s an all new performance episode of “American Idol” and only four competitors remain vying for the “Idol” crown. For her “California Dreamin’” number, Jessica Sanchez is performing her rendition of “Steal Away” by Etta James. In case you’re missing the show, you can read our live recap here.
Jessica spoke of her song choice for this round, saying that it’s been difficult. She revealed, “This week’s theme is ‘California Dreamin’ and it’s been a difficult one because people have been telling me, ‘more current songs this and that’ and this was a week where I could sing a current song. But really I’m trying to stay with my gut feeling and I’m trying to pull out the really big guns, so I’m singing a big song for both of my choices. Don’t expect a Katy Perry song.”
Left in the competition are Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet, Jessica Sanchez and Hollie Cavanagh. Who’s your favorite?
