Mark Ronson Feels Lucky To Have Known Amy Winehouse
by Jessica LeFevre on Dec.19, 2011, under articles

Music producer Mark Ronson says that he feels lucky to have known Amy Winehouse.
The two collaborated on her album, Back To Black and he says that he will never forget Amy or her influence on his career.
He revealed, “I’d been producing records for twelve years before I met Amy and I’d been trying so hard to have hits, but without any luck. The moment I thought to myself, ‘I’m never going to make it. I may as well just make music that I like’ is the moment I met Amy — we just created what we wanted rather than being concerned with what was on the radio at the time.”
He continued, “Something like Amy’s record comes along once in a lifetime, if that. Ultimately, Amy was one of those rare artists who made a very important record and they loved her. I was just lucky enough to have gone along for the ride.”
He added, “Winning and having success hasn’t changed my life but it has taught me a lot about myself and the nature of this business. The main thing being, to only work on stuff I believe in, regardless of what anyone else thinks.”
Amy Winehouse’s Father Mitch Refuses To Allow Biopic
by Jessica LeFevre on Dec.12, 2011, under articles

Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch refuses to allow a biopic to be made of the late singer’s life, by not allowing any moviemakers to use her music.
Her boyfriend, Reg Traviss, already revealed that he was approached to assist with the making of such a movie, but turned it down. Too soon, I’m sure…
Now, Mitch Winehouse says that he would never allow movie execs to use the rights to Amy’s music in any movie about her life.
In a new interview, he said, “It would hardly be a biopic without the music and we’d never allow the songs to be released.”
Do you want to see a movie based on Amy Winehouse’s life? Do you think her father should allow her music to be used for such a movie? What do you think? Sound off in the comments and let us know.

Reg Traviss Turns Down Amy Winehouse Movie
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.04, 2011, under articles

Amy Winehouse’s former boyfriend, Reg Traviss, has turned down an offer to make a movie of Amy’s life, telling pals that the movie would be too painful.
He has been approached to help film a biopic of the late singer’s life, after she passed away from alcohol consumption back in July. However, Reg isn’t up for it and has declined to take part.
In a new interview, he said, “I guess a biopic is inevitable. I have been asked but I honestly don’t think I could do it. I’d be too close to it. But whoever does write and direct the film may exaggerate certain points to make it more Hollywood.”
He added, “The family would want to be involved to make sure that it’s done justice. But right now it’s all too raw.”
He is absolutely right. Right now is a bit too soon and however inevitable the movie is, if they don’t get the details right, then why bother shelling out the dough to make it? And why would we shell out our dough to go see it in the theaters?

Amy Winehouse Posthumous Album To Be Released
by Jessica LeFevre on Oct.31, 2011, under articles

It was a sad, sad day when we learned of Amy Winehouse’s untimely death. Now, she is likely to be more remembered for the music she created instead of the media firestorm that surrounded her daily life.
In August, we’d learned that Amy’s house was robbed and some of her unreleased songs were stolen. Now, we’ve found that an album of Amy’s unheard recordings is set to be released in December.
The record is titled, Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures and will feature never heard before songs as well as some cover tracks. Reportedly, the new album contains a song titled Between The Cheats, which is about her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. Another track is a cover of Donny Hathaway’s song, A Song For You.
Amy’s father Mitch listened to the album and gushed about his late daughter in a new interview. He said, “I spent so much time chasing after Amy – telling her off – that I never realized what a true genius she was. It wasn’t until I sat down with the rest of the family and listened to this album that I fully appreciated the breadth of her talent. From jazz standards to hip-hop songs, it took my breath away. One of the new songs on the album, Halftime, I’d never heard before. It is just incredibly beautiful.”

Amy Winehouse’s Father Opens Up About Her Passing
by Lydia Harris on Sep.12, 2011, under articles

Amy Winehouse tragically passed away on July 23, 2011 and her father, Mitch, is opening up about that fateful day.
He has just arrived in New York City on July 24th when he got a call from Amy’s security guard informing him of her passing. He said that he will never forget that sad day.
He said, “I was in New York when I found out. I was at my cousin’s cuddling his newborn babies. He had just been asking me how Amy was. I said she was fine — then my phone rang. It was Andrew, her security guard, in tears. He said something terrible had happened. Amy had died. I couldn’t understand him at first. I was like ice. I was cool as a cucumber. I told him to tell me again. I was in a terrible state of shock. I was just sitting there.”
After learning of his daughter’s untimely death, Mitch flew back to the U.K. and spent the whole flight in a state of shock. He said, “I was just sitting there. The flight home was horrendous. In my mind, I was saying, ‘Stop messing about Amy.’ She was a practical joker and I just hoped everyone had it wrong – even though I knew it was right. It was horrible. I couldn’t cry. I wasn’t able to do anything. I was just numb.”
Mitch revealed that his daughter passed away from a seizure related to her alcohol detoxification. He said, “I can’t watch any footage of her. I broke down when I saw some clips of us together on TV. But I want to remember everything about her. The good times and the bad times. I don’t want to forget anything.”

Blake Fielder-Civil Used Amy Winehouse For Money
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.06, 2011, under articles

According to reports, Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, only used her for the big pay day that she represented. Ugh, I just can’t with this fool. He got her hooked on drugs and then takes advantage of her for her money? What a loser!
They’ve been said to have had a toxic love/hate relationship, but new reports suggest that he was only in it for the cashola. A source said that he used her obsession with him to get money for cocaine and heroin.

The source said, “He’d charge her £150 just to kiss him and get near him. They’d be sitting, having a couple of drinks and she’d be trying to snuggle up to him. She’d say, ‘Give me a kiss, sailor.’ He’d go, ‘F**k off, Give me some money then’ — and she’d go, ‘Blake, Blake.’ He liked her but he didn’t love her.”

The snitch went on to reveal, “She’d pay for him to get cabs to wherever she was. She’d pay £150 for a cab. This was the pattern throughout their relationship.”
Still, Blake is incarcerated (as usual) and is feeling sorry for himself. A source said, “He talked about how much he did for her, buying a dozen bouquets on their first anniversary – one for each month they’d be married. He is trying to justify his behavior. He’s trying to convince himself he was a good husband.”

Amy Winehouse’s Parents Attending The VMAs?
by Jessica LeFevre on Aug.27, 2011, under articles

Mitch and Janis Winehouse have been invited to the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards for a special tribute to their late daughter, Amy.
Tony Bennett will take the stage on Sunday for the first time since the early 90′s to honor Amy’s memory. Producers of the show are hoping that her parents will make an appearance as their special guests.
Executive Producer Dave Sirulnick said, “We’re still working on it. Some pieces are still coming together.”
According to reports, the tribute portion of the show will feature never before seen footage of Tony and Amy recording Body And Soul for his album, Duets II.
Upon examination, the coroner found no illegal drugs in Amy’s system at the time of her unfortunate passing. The coroner did say that she had been drinking, however. There was no mention of any legal substances in the report, according to her parents.
RIP.
Amy Winehouse’s House Robbed; Music Stolen
by Jessica LeFevre on Aug.11, 2011, under articles

Amy Winehouse passed away on July 23rd, tragically and untimely, but we’ve learned that someone has broken into her home and has taken some of her unreleased music! Who would do such a thing?!??
Following her death, copies of her unreleased songs, lyric books and letters have gone missing from her home in Camden, North London. According to reports, only twenty people, including family, friends, security and police have had access to the property. Her management has also been unable to account for her favorite guitar, as well.
An insider said, “This is such a sickening shock to the family. That someone would stoop so low. They can’t get their heads around it. Mitch is livid. The family, record label and management are months away from deciding what to do with any unreleased music. For that to be taken out of their hands is horrible.”
The snitch added that Mitch Winehouse wants to give the thief a chance to do what’s right and return the items before the police get involved. The source added, “Mitch is willing to give whoever has stolen the items a chance to do the right thing and put them back so it doesn’t have to get messy.”
What kind of person robs someone after they’re dead?!? What’s the world coming to?!??

by Lydia Harris on Aug.04, 2011, under articles

It really hasn’t been that long since we learned of Amy Winehouse’s tragic and untimely passing. Still, her loyal friend, Kelly Osbourne is still grieving.
The singer/actress revealed that she still hasn’t left her apartment since returning from Amy’s funeral. She said that she has found it very difficult to move on and is afraid of crying “floods of tears” over her loss.
She said, “I’ve not really left my apartment much since I’ve been back from her funeral in London last week…but it’s been good to leave it today, because my air conditioning is broken. I don’t really want to go into it, because there will be floods of tears on the couch.”
Poor thing, I can’t really say that I blame her. It’s hard to lose a close friend like she did. Amy had great talent and it’s the world’s loss. May she rest in peace.

Amy Winehouse Was Engaged To Reg Traviss When She Died?
by Jessica LeFevre on Aug.02, 2011, under articles

Amy Winehouse may not have been planning on adopting ten-year-old St. Lucian girl Dannika Augustine before her untimely death, but we’ve learned that she was secretly engaged to Reg Traviss.
Reportedly, she agreed to marry Reg after he presented her with a diamond ring. She had also vowed to put the partying lifestyle behind her. A source said, “Reg asked Amy and of course she said, ‘Yes’. She loved him. She wanted nothing more than to be his wife and to start a family with him. She wanted to get rid of her demons so badly. They openly said they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. They both thought the absolute world of each other.”
Another source said, “Amy spent a week in rehab in June and told loved ones afterwards she was determined to quit drinking. She was planning her future with Reg and that was playing a huge part in her thinking. Amy was adamant about sorting herself out. Reg’s proposal made her even more determined. She didn’t want to carry on the way she was.”

Amy Winehouse Didn’t Want To Adopt!
by Jessica LeFevre on Aug.01, 2011, under articles

Contrary to popular belief, Amy Winhouse really wasn’t gearing up to sign adoption papers!
A ten-year-old girl by the name of Dannika Augustine and her grandmother claimed that Amy was ready to head back to St. Lucia to adopt her right before she died. Dannika’s grandmother, Marjorie, said, “Amy wanted to have a child so bad. If she had not died, there is no doubt she would be here in St. Lucia completing the adoption process. There is no way she would have done what she did to herself if Dannika was with her.”
Uh huh. Well it turns out that the story isn’t true at all! Talk about a money grab!
Amy’s rep put the kibosh on the adoption rumors, saying that they’re plainly not true. She said, “It’s not true. I think Amy might have met her in St. Lucia, but she was in no way about to adopt her.”
And there you have it!
Besides that, Amy really wasn’t in a good place enough to adopt anyone. She needed to try and control her demons, but it was something that obviously overcame her. May she RIP and now will everyone stop trying to make a buck from her passing already?!??

Amy Winehouse Was Planning To Adopt!
by Jessica LeFevre on Jul.31, 2011, under articles

In the wake of Amy Winehouse’s untimely death, we’ve learned that the singer was planning to adopt a ten-year-old girl!
Amy spent a lot of time in St. Lucia when her marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil was in a shambles. Now, we’ve learned that a ten-year-old girl by the name of Dannika Augustine was going to be her adopted daughter. According to the girl and her grandmother, of course.
Dannika said that she met Amy during one of her visits to the island over the past few years. She was living in poverty with her single mother when Amy took interest.
Dannika said, “Amy was already my mother. I would call her mum and she would call me her daughter. She took care of me and we had fun together. I loved her and she loved me…She was the most amazing person and I was looking forward to living with her here or in London. I cannot believe she is gone. This is the worst thing that ever happened to me.”
Dannika’s grandmother, Marjorie, said that she had a conversation with Amy a few weeks ago and that Amy planned to return to the island next month. She said, “Amy wanted to have a child so bad. Report: Amy Winehouse Cause Of Death: Alcohol Withdrawal
by Roberta Ferguson on Jul.28, 2011, under articles

There has been some speculation as to the cause of Amy Winehouse’s untimely death. Some have attributed her death to her known drug abuse issues and problems with drinking. Now, we’ve learned that her family thinks that it was her withdrawal from alcohol that caused her passing.
According to People.com, Amy ignored doctors’ advice when it came to gradually reducing her alcohol intake. After her heavy drinking, Amy went cold turkey in the past month, according to a family friend. Her family says that they believe that the abrupt quitting caused too much of a shock for her system.
The source said, “Abstinence gave her body such a freight, they thought it was eventually the cause of her death.”
The true cause of her death is pending the results of the toxicology tests that were taken upon her death. The results won’t be made available for two to four weeks.
Amy was said to be on a bender during her last few days, but a source close to her family insists that wasn’t the case. Her father, Mitch Winehouse, said that he believed it was the opposite. The source said, “He said doctors had told Amy to gradually reduce her intake of alcohol and to avoid binging at all costs. Amy told him she couldn’t do that. It was all or nothing and she gave up completely. Mitch said the shock of giving up, after everything she had been through over a bad few years, was just too much for her to take.”
We’ve learned that alcohol withdrawal can lead to delirium tremens, which is more known as the “DTs”. This can lead to death, so their reasoning is plausible.

Boy George Offers Help To Amy Winehouse
by Lydia Harris on Jun.29, 2011, under articles

Boy George is reaching out to Amy Winehouse to offer some support in her battle with alcohol abuse.
He should know a thing or two about drug and alcohol addiction, since he’s been sober for over two years — and now he wants to help Amy. He posted the video of Amy’s terrible performance in Serbia on his Twitter page, showing the singer stumbling around and slurring her words.
He called the video “truly heartbreaking stuff” and tweeted to Amy, “Come to a meeting babe, do you know how loved you are?”
Later, he added, “Step 1 is all about that realization, I hope I don’t sound judgmental, I’m really not!…I don’t know why people put it on Youtube. I would just go home and cry.”
Since the Serbian show, Amy has canceled her comeback tour until she can return to her best. We’re hoping that she can get her life straightened out, it’s such a shame, she has so much talent.
Get well soon, Amy. You have a lot of fans who are looking forward to your return and takeover of the charts!
Amy Winehouse Cancels Some European Tour Dates
by Lydia Harris on Jun.19, 2011, under articles

Amy Winehouse performed in Serbia last night, but the crowd booed her comeback performance. She appeared drunk on stage as she slurred the lyrics to songs and just seemed out of it.
Now, Amy is cancelling part of her tour dates because she just can’t hack it, obviously. Her performance last night was called the worst in the history of Belgrade, even though fans paid $57.00 per ticket to see her perform. It doesn’t seem like a whole lot, but the average person living there only makes roughly $428.00 per month.
Now, Amy’s rep has announced today that she will be canceling some of her European tour dates. The rep said that Amy will be canceling her Istanbul concert for Monday, as well as Wednesday’s performance in Athens.
The rep also noted that Amy has realized that she “cannot perform to the best of her ability.”
Of course she can’t. The poor woman needs rehab before it’s really too late. She really needs to just spend more than a month taking care of herself and recovering from her demons. She has a tremendous amount of talent and it would be a shame to waste that because she can’t get her life together.
Amy Winehouse Checks Into Rehab
by Jessica LeFevre on May.27, 2011, under articles

And they tried to make her go to rehab and she said no, no, no yes, yes, yes!
Amy Winehouse has officially checked herself into rehab! This time, instead of jetting off to St. Lucia for a much needed vacation away from the craziness, Amy has decided that an actually rehab clinic would be the proper answer.
We hadn’t heard anything about her recently, and we were in hopes that it meant we could expect a new album from her soon. All of our hopes on that are no dashed, but at least she’s now getting the help she needs.
Winehouse is now seeking treatment for “alcohol addiction” at the Priory Clinic, a prestigious UK rehab center.
Amy’s people released a statement saying, “[Amy] wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment. She will remain at the Priory on doctors’ advice.”
According to reports, Amy’s issues are so bad … she even drank a small bottle of vodka on her way to the facility Wednesday.
A snitch close to Amy has revealed that her father Mitch pushed the rehab issue with his famous daughter. People magazine has more:
According to a source close to the singer, it was a move initiated by her father Mitch Winehouse. “Her dad sat her down and said ‘I think you’re drinking too much again.’ So she agreed to go an assessment to stop it becoming a bigger problem.”
I hope that she gets all of the help she needs. Amy is a highly talented singer and we look forward to her full recovery! Good luck, Amy!
