Sebastian Bach saves the day!

by roberta on Feb.16, 2010, under articles

Sebastian Bach has proven that he has an eagle eye for trouble, when it comes to his friends. The former Skid Row rocker stopped a man carrying a knife from approaching his good friend Axl Rose.

Guns N’ Roses was playing at a secret New York venue on Sunday, when a guy with a knife tried to enter the club.

A source said, “The man walked in while Guns N’ Roses was onstage and pulled out a knife and flicked the blade out. Sebastian, who was standing on a banquette said, ‘Nobody is getting anywhere near my man Axl Rose with a knife’, and went after him. Security then immediately threw him out. The man appeared to be drunk. It was dealt with so quickly that none of the other guests or the band were aware of it.”

Is he trying to get a job as their security?

Axl Rose effs up another GNR reunion

by roberta on Jan.18, 2010, under articles

Axl Rose misinterpreted a Twitter message from Slash, when referring to a benefit concert he [Slash] planned to benefit Haiti.

On the 13th, Slash tweeted, “Looking into organizing a big fund raiser concert for Haiti.” Apparently, in Axl language, he must’ve thought that Slash was looking for a way to get the band back together, so he responded with, “On a side note, pretty low n’ selfish usin’ the devastation in Haiti 2 start (false) reunion rumors. R hearts n’ prayers go out to the Haitian people.”

But do you know how huge that would be if GNR reformed to benefit the Haitians? Side note: Axl needs to learn how to read.

Slash refused over $100 million for Guns N’ Roses reunion

by roberta on Jan.11, 2010, under articles

Slash spoke to “GQ”, where he confirmed that him and another former member of Guns N’ Roses turned down over $100 million to reunite. Axl anyone?

He said, “Things were so abrasive by the time I left. I’ve never thought, ‘Oh, wouldn’t it be nice to get back together.’ Because I know it wouldn’t! One of the two of us will die before a reunion.”

When asked specifically how much they were offered, he said, “I can’t remember exact numbers, but excessive. Seven, eight-digit kinds of things.” Afterward, he confirmed that it was over $100 million.

According to GigWise, Slash is sad that the world will never see the original lineup. He added, “It’s sad that something so good doesn’t exist anymore, even though we’re both still alive and on the same planet. When we were on stage we were a real force together. But it got to a point off stage where it was impossible for us to even be in the same room together and create any music.”

I still don’t like Fergie

by roberta on Nov.12, 2009, under articles

I still don't like FergieSlash hooked up with Cypress Hill and Fergie to do a remake of the famous Guns ‘N Roses song, “Paradise City” and you can listen to it right here!

Surely, as you may know, we do not own the rights to this song, but you can listen to the butchering of a classic, after the jump! (continue reading…)

Velvet Revolver is leaving their singer to fate

by roberta on Jun.15, 2009, under articles

velvet_revolver_fateWhat is taking so long with Velvet Revolver coming out with some new music already?!?? I saw them in concert and the whole freaking thing was electric, all the way down from Slash’s guitar skills to Scott Weiland’s singing into a megaphone.

The band says that they are in no hurry to make anything new, insisting they will regroup “when it is supposed to happen.” So I guess they want a singer to just fall from the sky?

Bassist Duff McKagan said, “Either you’ve got the guy or you’ve not and we’ve worked with some really talented guys. The trick is getting the chemistry right. Slash is making his solo record, which he’s desperately needed to do for years, so I’ll keep working with my other band Loaded, he’ll do that and music will happen when it’s supposed to happen. The right guy will fall into our laps when he is supposed to and maybe that’s why it hasn’t happened yet.”

How about them all working together to give Axl Rose another try? Is that reaching?

Dr. Pepper Makes Good on Free Dr. Pepper Promise!

by roberta on Dec.22, 2008, under articles

On November 23rd, Axl Rose finally let Chinese Democracy fall through his death grip. Previously, Dr. Pepper promised to give a free Dr. Pepper out to everyone in the U.S. if Axl came through on his promise to release the album in 2008. They probably didn’t really believe that he’d release the album in 2008, and to tell you the truth, neither did I.

Despite all of the reported problems and the Dr. Pepper site being pretty much hosed all day on the 23rd, I still got my information in after a lengthy amount of time on the site. And lo and behold, look what came in the mail today. My free Dr. Pepper coupon.

With an expiration date of February 28, 2009, the coupon is good for a free Dr. Pepper (up to $1.59 value).

Thanks Dr. Pepper! This coupon got here quick! Which leads me to believe that the people behind this promotion should’ve put out Chinese Democracy. Then maybe we would’ve gotten it quicker.

Dr. Pepper does not apologize for the Chinese Democracy fiasco

by roberta on Dec.03, 2008, under articles

Axl Rose

Dr. Pepper has responded to Axl Rose’s comments about the free Dr. Pepper promotion turning into a fiasco, saying, “We are disappointed that GNR’s lawyers are turning a fun giveaway into a legal dispute. We simply commented on the delayed release of Chinese Democracy and openly encouraged the band to release it before the end of the year. Axl even expressed support for our efforts earlier in the year.”

While I would be the first to admit that the site to get the coupon for a free DP was hosed completely on the 23rd and it wasn’t really worth it to keep trying, I don’t believe it had an impact on the release of the album. Axl Rose did not have a monopoly on the 23rd as “Chinese Democracy Day” or anything like that, so he needs to shut his pie hole.

As a matter of fact, even though I liked the album, since the Chinese are so ticked off at Axl, I wish they’d come and get him. I’m sick of hearing about him now. Good grief. Maybe that way, I’ll enjoy that Dr. Pepper while thinking that he’s being punished in China for being a douche. I’m sure that’s a crime somewhere.

Axl Rose is really releasing Chinese Democracy

by roberta on Oct.23, 2008, under articles

Axl Rose

I’m still in shock and awe that Axl Rose is releasing Chinese Democracy to Best Buy on November 23rd. I’ve listened to the debut title track, and I’m having mixed feelings about it already. I had to break out Appetite for Destruction and Lies to remember how much I really liked GNR. Paradise City and Mama Kin, that’s the GNR I remember.

After the load of crap they tried to shove in our ears, Use Your Illusions 1 and 2, I think Axl owes us something really rockin’. We deserve it after that Get in the Ring garbage. The only good that came from either of those albums was Don’t Cry, Civil War, and You Could Be Mine. But that’s just my humble opinion.

And remember when Axl was hot? WTF happened to his face?!?!?? That’s why I used an older picture of Axl, because he’s looking pretty busted right about now.

My last questions would be can they top November Rain in awesomeness or can he rock out like Welcome To The Jungle? Don’t you want to listen to Chinese Democracy and say, ‘Wow! They’re back!’? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Was Chinese Democracy worth getting arrested over?

by roberta on Aug.27, 2008, under articles

Skwerl over at Antiquiet was arrested for distributing nine tracks off of the new Guns N Roses album, Chinese Democracy.

Someone else stole this crap off of the internet and this dude puts it on his blog and he’s the one that gets arrested?

Crazy. I say it’s just not worth it. What has Axl Rose done for you lately? Nada. There have been excuses after excuses and still no album. Axl should’ve put that crap on his site a long time ago and hoped that it sold. What the crap.

It probably sucked anyways.

Slash handled Axl Rose with kid gloves

by roberta on Nov.01, 2007, under articles

Slash has gone on the record to basically say that his ex-bandmate, Axl Rose is a mental case. Slash says that Axl once fell asleep on his mother’s couch and his grandmother had nowhere to sit. He tried to speak on the situation, but Axl hopped out of the car at 35-40mph.

Rocker SLASH had to treat his GUNS N’ ROSES bandmate AXL ROSE with “kid gloves” or risk the singer jumping out of moving vehicles. The guitarist learned early on that volatile Rose wasn’t a fan of criticism – when he threw himself out of a car after Slash reprimanded him for being rude to his mother. Rose was living with Slash in the mid-1980s and upset the guitarist’s family after taking offence to a polite request to move off a sofa he had fallen asleep on. Slash recalls, “One morning, I took off to work, and in the afternoon I guess he woke up and passed out on my grandmother’s couch. “I came home from work and my mom said, `You know, that guy Axl, I came home and he was asleep on the couch and grandma had nowhere to sit.’ “I told him he had to get up and whatnot, so he went downstairs.’ I thought I had to confront this issue. “So we got in the car and I very delicately put it that that was sort of rude. His reaction was to jump out of the car at about 35, 40 miles per hour on Santa Monica Boulevard. I realised what I’d said to him had offended him.”

Sounds like a nutjob to me.

Slash says Chinese Democracy will be released when Axl is ready

by roberta on Oct.25, 2007, under articles

Slash has gone on record to say that Axl Rose will release the long, longggggg awaited album, Chinese Democracy, when he’s ready. Haven’t fans of Guns N Roses waited long enough? The album has been ten years in the making already.

Apparently the singer “works in a different time zone”, as Slash explained: “It’ll get done, and it’ll come out when he feels comfortable with putting it out”. “And Axl works in a different time zone than I do. So what may seem like a long time to other people is a tick of the clock to him.”

And he’s blaming it on Axl being in a different time zone?!?! Wha?
