Bethenny Frankel is featured on the cover of the latest issue of People magazine and inside this week’s issue, she talks about starting over. From the magazine:
It’s been a tough nine months for Bethenny Frankel since she announced her split from husband Jason Hoppy last December.
After the divorce that she once hoped would be “amicable” instead turned angry, Frankel, 42, became locked in a battle with her ex over her fortune, at the very same time she was launching her new syndicated talk show, Bethenny, which premiered this week.
“You just just have to say we’re going to get to the other side,” she says in a revealing interview in this week’s PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. “I’m not going to be afraid and I’m not going to get more than I can handle.”
Despite the divorce drama, Frankel is focusing on her new show and her life as a single mom to Brynn, 3. A choice that’s definitely celibate.
“Men aren’t a priority right now – at all,” she says. And that’s not expected to change anytime soon. “Since I’m emotionally unavailable,” she says, “it may be a very chilly winter.”
Good for her for having a positive outlook on life despite going through a tough time. Divorce is always tough for all involved, but it sounds like she will come through it with flying colors.
Reality TV actress Bethenny Frankel has opened up to Ellen DeGeneres on her show today about filing for divorce from her husband Jason Hoppy. She revealed, “I can’t just only be on reality TV and show everything when it’s fairy princess, fairytale, and then not take my hits when I have to. Just going through something personal you have so many different emotions, and I feel like a bit of a disappointment to all of you. And, I feel like a failure.”
Ellen said in response, “You are not a disappointment. You are not a failure.”
Bethenny said, “I feel like a failure. I really put it out there. I wanted the fairytale. I thought I had it. And Bryn is my fairytale…Love is everywhere. It’s the road and you’re on it. It has peaks and valleys, and that’s what it is, but I don’t know how people go through this because this is excruciating.”
She talked of her decision to file for divorce saying that she “wanted to rip the Band-Aid off” so that she could “start to heal.”
She went on to say, “You know everything and one day you don’t know. So I’m scared. I’m older. And I want to be able to say to people…It’s about what I do now. I never thought I’d be a role model but i think to some people I am or have been. This is an important time because it’s about what I do next. How I handle myself now with grace, with dignity. Now is the time that matters.”
Television personality Bethenny Frankel has filed for divorce from her husband Jason Hoppy. In December, she announced that they were going their separate ways and now she has made it official. People magazine has more details surrounding the split:
It’s official – Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy’s marriage is over.
Having announced a separation over the holidays, the reality star began the divorce process by filing earlier this week in New York, TMZ reports.
“It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating,” Frankel, 42, had said in a statement Dec. 23. “This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family.”
The split comes after months of rumors that the pair – who married in 2010 and are parents to daughter Bryn, 2½ – were on the rocks.
“Bethenny is devastated,” a friend tells PEOPLE.
TMZ has confirmed the divorce filing. Stay tuned as we learn more details on the divorce filing. Bethenny and Jason share a two-year-old daughter together named Bryn Casey Hoppy. This marks Bethenny’s second divorce, as she was previously married to Peter Sussman.
