Bret Michaels Won’t Judge ‘American Idol’ – Would Do ‘Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars’
by Noah Johnson on Aug.03, 2012, under articles

Poison frontman Bret Michaels wants to quell the rumors about him taking the empty judging spot on “American Idol” before the rumors even gain any footing. He said that he has no plans on judging singing talent or even looking for love on television for the foreseeable future.
His rep Jo Mignano said that Bret wasn’t even thinking about doing a dating show after it was announced that Bret and long-time girlfriend Kristi Gibson called it quits. The rep said, “The truth is, anyone who knows Bret’s family and knows him as a father and a friend would truly understand that he is hurting over the separation, and the last thing he is thinking about is doing a dating show.”
As far as the “American Idol” rumors are concerned, his rep said that Bret is “honored” but “feels that position has long been filled.”
What’s left on television for the rocker to do? A “Celebrity Apprentice” all-stars show, of course. The rep added, “The only real consideration on the reality TV front at this moment is returning to do an All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. Donald Trump has asked Bret to return to do battle for charity as Trump knows Michaels’ struggle as a lifelong type 1 diabetic and his passion to win will make the competition fierce.”
Did you even consider Bret as being in the running for “American Idol”? Would you watch him come back to “Celebrity Apprentice”?
Bret Michaels Calls Off Engagement To Kristi Gibson
by Megan Lindsey on Jul.31, 2012, under articles

Bret Michaels has called it quits with his fiancee Kristi Gibson once again. Bret shares two daughters with Kristi, Raine Elizabeth, who is twelve and Jorja Bleu, who is seven. Bret and Kristi have been dating for the better part of sixteen years, on and off.
Bret has looked for love on reality television with two seasons of “Rock Of Love” and a season of “Rock Of Love Bus”, but managed to go back to Kristi each time. On the season finale of his reality show Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It, Bret proposed to Kristi. That particular episode aired on December 20, 2010.
This month, we’ve learned that even after she stood by him throughout all of his medical drama with his head injury, he has decided to call time on their union. Their rep released a statement saying, “Although the couple have separated they remain great friends and are committed to jointly raising their two daughters.”
Reportedly, Bret said that he was never fully committed to the idea of getting married and that it made him feel “sweaty”. His fiancee stood by him through his appendectomy, brain hemorrhage and the Tony Awards mishap and he is the one who gets cold feet? Crazy, I tell you.
Now that he has broken things off with Kristi, who do you think he should date next? Remember, Bret is currently on tour with Poison as part of Def Leppard’s Rock Of Ages Tour, so is he just looking to hook up with chicks on tour? What do you think?
Bret Michaels Settles Tony Awards Lawsuit
by Lydia Harris on May.15, 2012, under articles

Back in 2009, Poison singer Bret Michaels was hit in the head by a set piece at the Tony Awards after trying to leave the stage. In March of 2011, he announced that he would be suing the Tony Awards and CBS for unspecified damages over the accident.
He received lip and nose injuries, as well as possibly causing the brain hemorrhage that he suffered. Bret claimed in the lawsuit that he had no instruction as to how to safely exit the stage. When he did, he was struck down by the set piece that descended from above. Six months after the show aired, Bret suffered a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage, of which almost cost him his life.
Bret’s attorney revealed, “One of the most common causes of this type of hemorrhage is head trauma – exactly like the one Michaels suffered at the hands of the Tony Awards. Through his sheer will to live, to see his children grow up, he was able to survive this trauma.”
Today we have learned that Bret has settled the case. The “L.A. Times” reports:
An agreement came last week after mediation. The confidential settlement also covers CBS Broadcasting, which aired the show.
The suit, filed in March 2011 in Los Angeles Superior Court, said producers never informed Michaels of the scenery or potential hazards. “Quite the opposite, Michaels specifically asked for instructions regarding how to exit after his performance and was just told to walk off the rear of the stage — in what was ultimately the danger zone,” according to the legal papers.
Michaels’ lawyer Alex Weingarten issued a statement saying that “Mr. Michaels would like to thank his fans for their continued support.”
We’re glad that the incident is far behind him and that he has recovered nicely. Congratulations to him on his settlement.
Bret Michaels Feels Blessed To Be Alive
by Lydia Harris on Nov.14, 2011, under articles

Bret Michaels has been through quite a lot, but he’s glad to still be with us!
Last year, Bret was hospitalized with appendicitis and recovered from that rather quickly. Afterward, he was hospitalized again, but that time it was with a brain hemorrhage. Proving that he still had some fight in him, he recovered from that. But, he was hospitalized again after that with a warning stroke, only to find that he has a hole in his heart. Suffice it to say, the man has been through a lot!
He knows just how lucky he is, too. In a new interview, he said, “It has been rough. But I’m feeling pretty damn good. I’m really blessed to be here.”
He went on to say, “It was one thing after another. It was like, ‘What next?’”
He continued, “I thank a higher power that I am alive today. It just wasn’t my time to go. I know I’m still here for a reason. So, working with charities and helping others has become really important to me.”
His advice to anyone who is diagnosed with a life-threatening disease? “Fight like hell,” he says. “I’m not going to say it will be easy, because it won’t. I won’t say you won’t go through times that you want to give up, because you will. Half of the battle is mental, just having an attitude that you can beat the disease. But life is worth fighting for.”
When told he’s sounding like a nice guy, Michaels laughs. “Shhh. Don’t tell anyone,” he jokes. “I need to keep up the mystique. I may be a nice guy, but I still like to rock.”
We’re glad he’s here with us, as well. Stay strong Bret.

Donald Trump urged Bret Michaels to sue!
by Jessica LeFevre on Mar.28, 2011, under articles

Bret Michaels is suing the Tony Awards and CBS for his injuries at the awards show — all at the behest of real estate mogul Donald Trump!
He said that talks to resolve the issue broke down because they were “pretty cold”. Donald offered him the advice to sue aggressively, but Bret said that he just wanted to be compensated for work time lost due to the injuries he suffered.
He had just finished performing Nothin’ But A Good Time on the Tony Awards when a set piece ascended upon him, knocking him down. He said that there were no safety precautions in place. He went on to reveal that the show’s producers could have delayed the broadcast so that they wouldn’t embarrass him.
He said, “They never needed to show me getting hurt. They didn’t offer to pay my medical costs or anything….I’m sorry it came to this.”

Bret Michaels performed with Poison at the 2009 Tony Awards and if you’ll recall, he was struck in the head by a set piece descending from above. The blow knocked him down, causing lip and nose injuries — and now he’s saying that was the culprit for his brain hemorrhage.
In the lawsuit, Bret claims that he had no instruction on how to safely exit the stage and when he did, he was smacked in the face by the set piece. He was also hospitalized over a broken nose and a cut lip.
Six months after the awards show, Bret suffered from a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage that almost claimed his life. In the lawsuit, his lawyer said, “One of the most common causes of this type of hemorrhage is head trauma — exactly like the one Michaels suffered at the hands of the Tony Awards. Through his sheer will to live, to see his children grow up, he was able to survive this trauma.”
Tony Award producers have claimed that Bret missed his mark and offered no words of apology. He is suing for an unspecified figure.

by Jed Eckert on Mar.21, 2011, under articles

Disney teen queen Miley Cyrus is planning to kickoff her world tour starting with a concert in Ecuador. Reportedly, she will play a show in Quito on April 29th, followed by a concert in Lima, Peru on May 1st.
According to reports, Miley is expected to make a tour announcement with more dates coming in the very near future.
Most recently, it was decided that Miley would go forward with the release of her second single from Can’t Be Tamed, Every Rose Has Its Thorn. The song was originally sang by Poison, but Miley and Bret Michaels did the duet for her current album.
The song was shelved as a single after reports hit the internet that her mother Tish was having an affair with Bret. After her parents reconciled, the song was given a single release date.
Miley Cyrus & Bret Michaels duet to be released
by Roberta Ferguson on Mar.19, 2011, under articles

Last year, Disney teen queen Miley Cyrus and Poison frontman Bret Michaels recorded his famous Poison song, Every Rose Has Its Thorn. The producers were planned a huge release for the single, but plans were halted after it was rumored that Bret hooked up with Miley’s mother, Tish.
Since Miley’s mother and father have reconciled, we’ve learned that they are planning to release the single!
In a new interview, Bret said, “The record label was supposed to have this huge humongous release of Every Rose. It was going to be Miley’s next step song, but, because of that, they stepped back. It really bummed me out. I worked hard on that. I think this is the song that will cross her over. If that happens, it’s going to be a big hit.”
Are you excited for this single to be released? Did you like the duet version better than the original?
For nostalgia, of course….And also because it’s the better version of the song.
Bret Michaels’ post-surgery health scare
by Lydia Harris on Feb.01, 2011, under articles

Bret Michaels recently had heart surgery, but afterward, he had a health scare!
After he started recovering from his surgery, he suffered a huge drop in blood pressure. Luckily, his doctor was able to locate the cause and he is doing fine again.
Dr. Mansour Assar said, “Bret suffered no setbacks and is fine. It’s always good for patients to be evaluated when they’re not feeling well.”
He is currently at home and is recovering. Four days after the surgery, the blood pressure drop occurred and was said to be caused by dehydration and exhaustion. Also a possibility as a culprit is the diabetes that he has.
Get well soon, Bret! We’re still pulling for you!
