Brittany Murphy’s death certificate altered

Brittany Murphy's death certificate altered

Brittany Murphy passed away in December 2009, but up until recently, her death certificate listed her father as “unknown”.

Her father, Angelo Bertolotti, complained that he was being blocked from visiting Brittany’s grave, because Forest Lawn wasn’t aware that the two were related.

TMZ has the scoop:

So Angelo petitioned for a change — and after bringing his I.D., photos of himself with Brittany and Brittany’s birth certificate to the L.A. County Registrar … his name was belatedly added to her death certificate.

Angelo tells us he’s recently visited his daughter’s grave several times … without incident.

Glad to hear that this story had a happy ending and that her father is able to visit her grave now. It’s still weird that she’s gone. I loved her acting, she had true talent.

Brittany Murphy’s mother still pretends she’s alive

by on Dec.23, 2010, under articles

Brittany Murphy had such a promising career in movies and music, and she was definitely taken from us way too young. It was tragic how she passed away December 20, 2009, but her mother Sharon says that she still pretends that Brittany’s still alive. So sad.

Sharon has found it difficult to cope with her daughter’s untimely death at the age of 32, so she pretends it never happened. She said, “It’s beyond strange. I don’t have answers for it. Sometimes just in order to function, I pretend it didn’t happen.”

She lived with Brittany and husband Simon Monjack until they both passed away within five months of each other. She said, “I feel their presence here. It’s comforting.”

Sharon went on to say, “I’m always remembering times with her. She would always say that we grew up together, and that’s true. We were so close, and such great friends.”

Sharon is working on a book about her daughter and is concentrating on her charity, the Brittany Murphy Foundation. She added, “A portion of the proceeds that I receive from the book will be donated to charity.”

Sharon Murphy upset over Simon Monjack sex story

by on Aug.19, 2010, under articles

When Brittany Murphy passed away, the Coroner’s report suggested that her mother Sharon was sleeping in the same bed as her husband, Simon Monjack. TMZ reported the story yesterday, saying that they weren’t implying that the duo had a sexual connection.

According to TMZ, an investigator was said to have walked through Simon’s bedroom, after he passed away and “an unnamed woman”, reportedly Sharon, identified one side of his bed as “her side of the bed.”

Now, Sharon is miffed and has fired off a statement, refuting the claims. She said, “I am very disturbed that the L.A. Coroner’s Office continues to release things to the media that are misleading. The TMZ story with its salacious headline suggesting that my precious son-in-law Simon and I slept in bed together, inferring sexual contact is journalism at its lowest.”

For the record, TMZ did not infer any sexual contact in the original story. It was left up to the dirty minds of the readers to draw that conclusion. Besides that, it’s still creepy.

Simon Monjack takes reporters to Brittany Murphy’s bathroom

by on Mar.22, 2010, under articles

Simon Monjack must be insane. He took reporters from Radar Online through the house to the now infamous bathroom, where Brittany Murphy took her last breaths. Anything for the almighty dollar, right?

Radar reports:

“You’re the first people to ever see the infamous bathroom,” Simon painfully told RadarOnline.com Saturday afternoon. “Today was the three month anniversary of her [Brittany's] death and before I saw you I was actually with Sharon at the grave. This is the little doggy couch where she actually fell and she was put on her side right here,” Simon says pointing to a leopard print couch and a place on the floor next to it. “When the paramedics came in they pulled her through here, into one of the closets and into the main room.”

In a display of raw emotion and heart-breaking sadness, Simon takes a minute to absorb the images of the bathroom before telling RadarOnline.com, “This is the first time I’ve come in here actually. It’s shocking.”

Simon also says that he wasn’t paid for the interview, which you can see at the source, and says that he has turned down tidy sums for the bathroom viewing.

by on Mar.02, 2010, under articles

Brittany Murphy filed her will before she was married to Simon Monjack, thus leaving her entire estate to her mother, Sharon Murphy.

According to TMZ:

Brittany Murphy left her entire estate to her mother, Sharon, TMZ has learned.

Sources tell us, years before Brittany was married she wrote a holographic (handwritten) will, leaving everything to her mom. The will was stored in her manager’s safe.

Brittany’s husband, Simon Monjack, told TMZ after they got married Brittany had a formal will drafted, along with a trust. Simon tells us all of her assets under the new will and trust go to Sharon.

Simon tells us, at his request, the will specifically says, “I am married to Simon Monjack who I have intentionally left out of this will.

Don’t you just love how he’s pointing that out? Like he asked her specifically to intentionally cut him from the will. Does he have his own money? I’m sure Simon will be hitting on Sharon next, natch.

Brittany Murphy Foundation is not a charity at all

by on Feb.14, 2010, under articles

Remember when Simon Monjack setup the Brittany Murphy Foundation and attempted to hold a benefit in his wife’s honor, to support the arts? Well, it’s all BS.

Apparently, Simon failed to register the foundation as a non-profit organization.
TMZ reports:

TMZ has discovered, however, the foundation is not registered as a charity with the IRS or the state of California, as required by law.

The California Secretary of State’s office told TMZ there are no records for The Brittany Murphy Foundation. The state Attorney General’s office also has no record of the organization as a nonprofit group — and the IRS says the foundation has not filed for a non-profit license.

Shame on them for taking donations in Brittany’s name and being sheisty about it.

Brittany Murphy’s death was ruled by the Coroner’s office as an accidental death caused by “community acquired pneumonia,” iron deficiency anemia, and multiple drug intoxication.

The L.A. Times reports:

Coroner officials said Murphy had gone into sudden cardiac arrest because of “drug intake,” and the Dec. 20 death was classified as an accident. They said an autopsy report would be available in two weeks.

Regarding the multiple drugs found in her system, TMZ has more:

As for the multiple drugs found in her system, we’re told they were both prescription, including medicine for cramps, and over-the-counter medications, including cough syrup. Our sources say the drugs “pushed her over the line” but the underlying problems were the pneumonia and anemia.

Her unfortunate and untimely death could have been prevented with the proper care.

Brittany Murphy Foundation bash postponed

by on Feb.03, 2010, under articles

According to reports, the big gala event that Simon Monjack was holding in memory of his late wife, Brittany Murphy has been postponed.

TMZ reports:

Brittany Murphy’s husband has suddenly called off the fundraising party he was throwing in her honor tomorrow night — but the man who pulled the plug isn’t saying why.

Simon Monjack had planned a huge launch party Thursday night for his new Brittany Murphy Foundation — an organization he claims is dedicated to arts education for children. Monjack had been reportedly soliciting $1,000 donations per person to attend.

But just days before the big night, someone called the Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts — where the event was supposed to go down — and told the Rabbi to hold the Manischewitz… because the party was off.

I think he just got cold feet after the entire internet as a whole called him out for being a greedy douche. What do you think?

And even before the “Happy Feet” nonsense, she was also fired from “The Caller” due to reports about her erratic behavior on set.

He’s probably just mad that he isn’t able to try and make bazillions off of the footage now that she’s no longer with us.
