Tom Cruise Settles $50 Million Libel Lawsuit Against Bauer Media

Tom Cruise Settles $50 Million Libel Lawsuit Against Bauer Media

Tom Cruise has settled his $50 million lawsuit against Bauer Media after they plastered his “abandoned Suri” story all over the tabloids. The terms of the settlement have not been made public, but he will be getting a public apology from them for the mishap.

It all began when Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom. Afterward, it was said that Tom hadn’t seen his daughter in months. The tabloids went on with the story as they usually do, but Tom wasn’t standing for it. He took the case to the courts with a $50 million lawsuit against the publishers. TMZ has more of the details:

The terms of the settlement are sealed. Each side will pay its own legal fees.

Part of the deal was that the defendants issue the following statement: “Bauer Publishing, ‘In Touch’ and ‘Life and Style’ never intended to communicate that Tom Cruise had cut off all ties and abandoned his daughter Suri and regret if anyone drew that inference from anything they published.”

Are you surprised that they have settled the case this quickly? Aren’t you curious how much he got from the false reports of his abandonment? Be sure that if we can get our fingers on that information, you’ll be the first to know!

Michael Jackson’s Security Guard Testifies About Drug Use

Michael Jackson's Security Guard Testifies About Drug Use

A former head of security for Michael Jackson has testified that he was concerned about the late king of pop’s exorbitant drug use. Michael la Perruque took the witness stand in the ongoing lawsuit between the Katherine Jackson and the entire Jackson family against AEG Live earlier this week.

In his testimony, La Perruque said that he was especially worried that Jackson would overdose in the early 2000′s, adding that he later seemed to get his drug use under control:

“It was my concern that he may overdose. He fought very hard to be sober,” La Perruque said under oath. “He fought very hard not to be dependent on these prescription medications.”

He went on to explain that Jackson would often call him late at night, sometimes upwards of 20 or 30 times, and was often incoherent:

“I think he was just lonely. He wanted somebody to talk to.”

We’re sure that Jackson battled many demons during his time on this earth. Who do you think is going to win the lawsuit? The Jackson family or AEG? Do you think AEG is shady or was Jackson so bad off with his drug use that he couldn’t be helped? Share your thoughts below.

Debbie Rowe To Testify About Michael Jackson’s Drug Use

Debbie Rowe To Testify About Michael Jackson's Drug Use

We all know by now how much Michael Jackson loved his “milk” (ie: Propofol), so it’s not a surprise to many that he was really into some shocking drug use. His former wife/partner Debbie Rowe is set to testify in Katherine Jackson’s wrongful death trial about just how far Michael went to get his fix.

Her testimony could damage the Jackson’s case against the music giant, but she will tell the court how much of a hardcore drug user the King of Pop really was. Reportedly, in court, Rowe will point the finger at Jackson’s former doctor Arnie Klein. Whenever Jackson walked into his office for any type of procedure, he had an apparent standing order for Demerol and Vistaril.

Rowe will also say that Jackson kept his hardcore drug use a secret from her. TMZ has more:

Rowe will say she saw Michael on TMZ coming out of Klein’s office days before he died — looking totally out of it. We’re told she will say she called Klein after Michael died and said, “What the f**k did you give him? He’s dead and it’s your fault.” She then hung up on him.

Rowe’s testimony will further help AEG because she’ll say she had no idea Michael was secretly going to surgical offices specifically for the purpose of getting high and going to sleep.

She’ll also say she’s the only person in Michael’s world who could control him — that she’s the only one (including Michael’s family) who would say “NO.”

What do you think about the testimony that will be heard in court? Would it help or hurt the Jackson family’s case against AEG? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Lindsay Lohan Loses Pitbull ‘Give Me Everything’ Lawsuit

Lindsay Lohan Loses Pitbull 'Give Me Everything' Lawsuit

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has just gotten her butt handed to her in a legal battle with rapper Pitbull over his song “Give Me Everything”. Just because she could sue E-Trade over “Milkaholic Lindsay” and win does not mean that she can launch a lawsuit in anyone’s direction who uses her name.

Pitbull used her name in the lyrics for the song, saying, “I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan”. She decided that it wasn’t fitting for her lovely brand, so she opted to sue him. TMZ reports:

But today a New York federal judge sided with Pitbull … ruling that Lindsay is dead wrong on the law — because the song is a work of art protected by the 1st amendment PLUS Lindsay’s barely even mentioned in it.

The judge also ruled … Lindsay’s allegations that she suffered emotional distress are also BS.

The case has been dismissed.

John Travolta Involved In Massage Lawsuit; Denies Claims

John Travolta Involved In Massage Lawsuit

Yesterday an unknown man going by the moniker John Doe launched a lawsuit at John Travolta, claiming that he was sexually assaulted by the actor. The lawsuit claims that John found the masseur’s ad online and contacted him for an appointment. They met up and went to the Beverly Hills Hotel and into John’s bungalow. At the time, the masseur claims that John got fully nude and gave him a massage for an hour without incident.

Afterward, the masseur claims that John tried to touch his leg and other man parts. The masseur then says that he informed John that he did not have sex with his clients, but John didn’t give up, offering to give the guy a handjob. He is suing John for $2 million in addition to punitive damages.

Now, John is hitting back at the lawsuit, claiming he wasn’t even in the area when the supposed massage was supposed to have gone down. TMZ reports:

The statement says, “This lawsuit is a complete fiction and fabrication. None of the events claimed in the suit ever occurred.”

The statement notes, the masseur didn’t disclose his name in the lawsuit — he sued as “John Doe.”

John is confident he will get the case thrown out and will sue the attorney and the masseur for malicious prosecution.

John has been the subject of many rumors surrounding his sexuality over the years. Shouldn’t someone call the Beverly Hills Hotel to see if John was there on the night in question?
