Dr. Pepper Makes Good on Free Dr. Pepper Promise!
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.22, 2008, under articles
On November 23rd, Axl Rose finally let Chinese Democracy fall through his death grip. Previously, Dr. Pepper promised to give a free Dr. Pepper out to everyone in the U.S. if Axl came through on his promise to release the album in 2008. They probably didn’t really believe that he’d release the album in 2008, and to tell you the truth, neither did I.
Despite all of the reported problems and the Dr. Pepper site being pretty much hosed all day on the 23rd, I still got my information in after a lengthy amount of time on the site. And lo and behold, look what came in the mail today. My free Dr. Pepper coupon.
With an expiration date of February 28, 2009, the coupon is good for a free Dr. Pepper (up to $1.59 value).
Thanks Dr. Pepper! This coupon got here quick! Which leads me to believe that the people behind this promotion should’ve put out Chinese Democracy. Then maybe we would’ve gotten it quicker.

Dr. Pepper does not apologize for the Chinese Democracy fiasco
by Roberta Ferguson on Dec.03, 2008, under articles

Dr. Pepper has responded to Axl Rose’s comments about the free Dr. Pepper promotion turning into a fiasco, saying, “We are disappointed that GNR’s lawyers are turning a fun giveaway into a legal dispute. We simply commented on the delayed release of Chinese Democracy and openly encouraged the band to release it before the end of the year. Axl even expressed support for our efforts earlier in the year.”
While I would be the first to admit that the site to get the coupon for a free DP was hosed completely on the 23rd and it wasn’t really worth it to keep trying, I don’t believe it had an impact on the release of the album. Axl Rose did not have a monopoly on the 23rd as “Chinese Democracy Day” or anything like that, so he needs to shut his pie hole.
As a matter of fact, even though I liked the album, since the Chinese are so ticked off at Axl, I wish they’d come and get him. I’m sick of hearing about him now. Good grief. Maybe that way, I’ll enjoy that Dr. Pepper while thinking that he’s being punished in China for being a douche. I’m sure that’s a crime somewhere.
I heart Chinese Democracy

Last night, Guns N’ Roses allowed us all to have a preview of their long-awaited album, Chinese Democracy. I just got around to having a listen, and it’s not what I expected at all. I thought Axl Rose would complete suck in his own pompous self righteous way. But, nope.
It took a few days, but the song Chinese Democracy grew on me like a fungus. The song Better reminds me of why I liked Guns N’ Roses in the first place. It’s Axl Rose’s voice. There I said it. Crucify me. I might just actually buy this one.
What do you think of the new album?
Axl Rose is really releasing Chinese Democracy

I’m still in shock and awe that Axl Rose is releasing Chinese Democracy to Best Buy on November 23rd. I’ve listened to the debut title track, and I’m having mixed feelings about it already. I had to break out Appetite for Destruction and Lies to remember how much I really liked GNR. Paradise City and Mama Kin, that’s the GNR I remember.
After the load of crap they tried to shove in our ears, Use Your Illusions 1 and 2, I think Axl owes us something really rockin’. We deserve it after that Get in the Ring garbage. The only good that came from either of those albums was Don’t Cry, Civil War, and You Could Be Mine. But that’s just my humble opinion.
And remember when Axl was hot? WTF happened to his face?!?!?? That’s why I used an older picture of Axl, because he’s looking pretty busted right about now.
My last questions would be can they top November Rain in awesomeness or can he rock out like Welcome To The Jungle? Don’t you want to listen to Chinese Democracy and say, ‘Wow! They’re back!’? Or is that just wishful thinking?
Slash has reviewed Chinese Democracy

Slash has recently got the chance to listen to the new GNR album, Chinese Democracy. Here’s what he had to say about the album:
“At first I thought that I would never listen to it until it’s released, but someone handed it to me and I was in my car and I was like, ‘Okay, let’s give it a try.’ So I listened to it: It’s a really good record. It’s very different from what the original Guns N’ Roses sounded like, but it’s a great statement by Axl. Now you understand where he was heading all this time. It’s a record that the original Guns N’ Roses could never possibly make. And at the same time it just shows you how brilliant Axl is. So it was a relief for me to actually hear it.â€
Slash sucks. After he lambasted that dude at Antiquiet for posting 9 tracks from the album, I’ve lost respect for him. I’m also losing interest in waiting another 14 years to hear that crap. So they both can suck it.
Was Chinese Democracy worth getting arrested over?
by Roberta Ferguson on Aug.27, 2008, under articles
Skwerl over at Antiquiet was arrested for distributing nine tracks off of the new Guns N Roses album, Chinese Democracy.
Someone else stole this crap off of the internet and this dude puts it on his blog and he’s the one that gets arrested?
Crazy. I say it’s just not worth it. What has Axl Rose done for you lately? Nada. There have been excuses after excuses and still no album. Axl should’ve put that crap on his site a long time ago and hoped that it sold. What the crap.
It probably sucked anyways.
Slash says Chinese Democracy will be released when Axl is ready
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.25, 2007, under articles

Slash has gone on record to say that Axl Rose will release the long, longggggg awaited album, Chinese Democracy, when he’s ready. Haven’t fans of Guns N Roses waited long enough? The album has been ten years in the making already.
Apparently the singer “works in a different time zone”, as Slash explained: “It’ll get done, and it’ll come out when he feels comfortable with putting it out”. “And Axl works in a different time zone than I do. So what may seem like a long time to other people is a tick of the clock to him.”
And he’s blaming it on Axl being in a different time zone?!?! Wha?
I think I’m going to have a heart attack!

Chinese Democracy songs leaked online
by Roberta Ferguson on May.10, 2007, under articles
Could it have been deliberate? My curiousity lends itself to the fact that this album has been in the works since 1993′s The Spaghetti Incident. Fourteen long years in the making, Chinese Democracy has been talked about and talked about some more.
Axl Rose needs to get off his butt and put this album out already and get it in gear for the tour. Otherwise fans like me are going to stop caring, in the meantime.
