Carrie Underwood Embarrassed By Matthew McConaughey Comments
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.07, 2009, under articles

Matthew McConaughey presented at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where Carrie Underwood won the award for Entertainer Of The Year. (For the full list of 2009 ACM winners, click here.)
Matteo went on about how his boots got him lucky and said that he had George Strait to thank for it. When Carrie took the stage, she was obviously nervous, and said, “I don’t know what to say, I got nothin’. I want to see those boots, Matthew.”
Everybody had a good laugh, yet Carrie feels embarrassed by the whole thing. So much, that she felt the need to apologize.
She says, “I’m so embarrassed, I totally embarrassed myself. I just blanked. You want to say something eloquent in a moment like that and I embarrassed myself. I’m sorry Matthew, I’m sorry to my family. I’m totally embarrassed.”
Have a look at the video of the joke:
I don’t think it was that big of a deal. Do you?

Brad Paisley gets “arrested”
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.21, 2008, under articles
Country music singer Brad Paisley had a little bit of a reputation for pranking people on his tour. He was greeted upon arrival in Nashville, by two police officers, who cuffed the singer and told him that he was being arrested for outstanding warrants in Texas and Tennessee. The arresting officers were waiting on the tarmac and told Brad that there were allegations that he had been involved with some serious crimes.
He’s currently on tour with Jewel and Chuck Wicks, where Brad was notorious for pranking them. Chuck pranked Brad by stepping onto the stage, which was covered with syrup and feathers. During Jewel’s set, a large man dressed as a giant condom swung over her head.
Brad was charged with “excessive noodling.” I guess Jewel and her crew got the last laugh!
There’s a lot of apologizing going around

First, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott apologized for mishandling the Stanley Cup, now it’s country singer Tim Mcgraw’s turn. But this time, I’m cracking up over the reason. It’s because his retarded record company has released another greatest hits album, with just one studio album in between! I’d be livid, too.
In his own defense, he says, “I had no involvement in the creation or presentation of this record. Sure, I love the songs and I don’t want to take anything away from all the creative people who were a part of making those records. But the whole concept is an embarrassment to me as an artist. In the spirit of an election year, I would simply say to my fans ‘I’m Tim McGraw, and I don’t approve their message.’”
Darius Rucker splits from Hootie & The Blowfish

Hootie & The Blowfish have officially split up so that singer Darius Rucker can pursue a career as a solo country star.
Well that’s great. Who knew we’d lose another one to country music. First it was Jessica Simpson, now Darius Rucker.
Darius says, “We have four charity gigs every year and we will still do them, but we will not do a record or tour. Even when we play now, we’re not as close as we were. I don’t miss the getting big or all that stuff, I miss when we were real close.
Darius says that he’ll consider a reunion after he gets that country crap out of his system. We’ll be waiting.
Keith Urban is suffering from a slipped disc

Keith Urban’s rep has confirmed that he is suffering from a slipped disc. The rep wouldn’t comment on how he got the injury, though. He’s not letting any back problems stop him from kicking a little country butt on stage, either.
He mentioned the injury to fans at a concert Saturday night, but was said to have “went on to deliver an enthusiastic performance.”
Get well Keith and try not to suck so bad. Maybe he should try his hand at some good old fashioned rock and roll?
Maybe they wanted him to shutup?

Country singer Steve Holy was “allegedly” held at gunpoint by two police officers during a game of foosball recently.
According to sources, the police department has placed the two officers on administrative leave pending an investigation:
”It just makes not one bit of sense why they would have drawn their guns and threatened these gentlemen,” Kunkle said. Holy said the reality of what happened was only beginning to hit him. ”It’s the worst thing I’ve ever dealt with,” he said, declining to comment further.
Jessica Simpson goes country…RUN!!
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.01, 2008, under articles

In case you missed it, Jessica Simpson is readying herself for a country music album. So all of us who didn’t previously buy any of her albums, will have no reason to now.
Jessica has already been touted as box office poison (by yours truly) in reference to her movie, Blonde Ambition, that sank faster than the Titanic. She grossed a little over $1,000.00 for that nonsense and it’s a wonder she did that much.
Here’s what she had to say about this country music endeavor:
“Writing is a release for me,” she said. “It’s a way for me to tell my story. That’s not to say I wouldn’t record a song that I didn’t write.”
Well,, country to me as always been about loss of truck, significant other, dog, etc. Maybe she can sing about how much she sucks at acting?
