Paula Abdul to do ‘Dancing With The Stars’?

by lydia_1832 on Jan.26, 2010, under articles

According to TMZ, Paula Abdul might just be bringing the vicodin parade to the upcoming season of dancing competition, “Dancing With The Stars”.

ABC reportedly offered Abdul a $1,000,000 development deal, which has a catch, she would have to appear on DWTS.

With rumors swirling around that the former Idol judge is set to join Simon Cowell’s “X Factor”, this would leave her plenty of time to do both. I love Paul, I don’t know why they didn’t renew her “American Idol” contract. Maybe Simon was just saving her the drama?

“Dancing With The Stars” makes its premiere this March. Think she should go for it?

Conan O’Brien to compete on ‘Dancing With The Stars’?

by roberta on Jan.19, 2010, under articles

Conan O’Brien has been officially offered a spot on the next season of “Dancing With The Stars”.

He said, “This is real. I have been invited to compete on ‘Dancing With The Stars’. There are so many jobs to choose from. I don’t know which one to do. I thought, why not let the viewers decided. Go to TonightShow.com and register your vote. My future is literally in your hands.”

According to E-Online:

But on a somewhat serious note, he said, “Of course, this has been a stunning couple of days for me, I have to tell you. It is a bit hard to accept that soon I won’t have a show, but Snookie and The Situation [of MTV's 'Jersey Shore'] will. Only in America.”

Team Coco. Do you think he should compete on DWTS? Wanna see Coco bust a move?

Donny Osmond wins ‘Dancing With The Stars’

by roberta on Nov.24, 2009, under articles

dtws-finale-winnerThe season finale of “Dancing With The Stars” is tonight, and we’re all so excited to see Whitney Houston perform tonight. So far, the highlight of the show happened when they cut to Miss Piggy during the recap. At least Tom Burgeron knows how to recover!

Whitney Houston killed it! She brought the house down when she did “Million Dollar Bill”! You go girl!

[Enter boring dance by the losers here -- I'm looking at you, Macy Gray]

The contestants will get another chance for some points from the judges in a final dance. Kelly and Louis are dancing the Viennese Waltz for their final dance and it’s just lovely. Good job Kelly! The judges raved about her performance and the crowd started chanting her name. Be proud, Kelly.

Mya and Dmitry did the Jive for their final dance and rocked it. Bruno said she never skipped a beat, and he’s right.

Donny and Kym are doing the Argentine Tango next, and they’re hooking it up! What a great dance and Marie looks so proud!

Scoring:

Kelly and Louie – 26
Mya and Dmitry – 28
Donny and Kym – 30

[Enter boring dance-off from Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin. Spoiler Alert: They both win a ring.]

Finding themselves in third place are Kelly and Louis. Surprise. Even she didn’t think she was going to win it all. She was gracious, too. Good for her!

In second place, are Mya and Dmitry, leaving the winner’s spot to Donny and Kym! Congrats to them!

Kelly Osbourne doesn’t think she’ll win ‘Dancing With The Stars’

by roberta on Nov.24, 2009, under articles

91015A1_OSBOURNE_K_B-GR_12After falling on her tush last night, Kelly Osbourne says that she doesn’t think she’s going to win the Mirror Ball trophy on tonight’s “Dancing With The Stars” finale.

She danced with partner Louis Van Amstel to Gloria Gaynor’s song (redone, of course) “I Will Survive”, but we should take that with a grain of salt. Maybe she will survive even if she doesn’t win the trophy?

When speaking with “Us Weekly”, Kelly said, “I definitely came into this competition raw and I don’t think I’m gonna win.”

Of exactly what happened during the dance where she fell, she said, “There were so many mistakes. Right before we did our group megamix, they covered us in this stuff called Body Gleam, the sparkly stuff. I might as well have put baby oil on myself!”

Louis added, “It was so slippery! I knew she was going to get taken down when we did the helicopter.”

Still, she had nothing but positivity about the entire experience, adding, “I was so happy. I had so much fun, I wish every night was like this!”

Afterward she jokingly said, “Unless things go really wrong, and I wind up back on drugs, dancing on a pole, I really don’t think I’ll ever do this much dancing again!”

Let’s hope for the best Kelly. Who got your votes last night?

‘Dancing With The Stars season finale on tonight!

by roberta on Nov.23, 2009, under articles

dwts“Dancing With The Stars” is wrapping up their ninth season tonight with the top three, Donny Osmond, Mya, and Kelly Osbourne.

The show will kick off its finale tonight, with dances from all three couples. It’s anybody’s game as to who’s going to come home with the Mirror Ball trophy.

Kelly is ready, she just tweeted, “The dr just left my feet are not looking so hot but at least I will be able to dance the injections really hurt this time :(”

Hopefully she will be alright to dance up a storm tonight. My prediction is that Mya will come out on top as she’s been A1 throughout the show. Donny has done a pretty nice job, as well. Kelly has danced her socks off, but is she good enough to win it all?

What do you think? Who are you rooting for?

Kelly Osbourne fears relapsing after ‘Dancing With The Stars’

by roberta on Nov.19, 2009, under articles

91015A1_OSBOURNE_K_B-GR_09After Kelly Osbourne finishes her stint on “Dancing With The Stars”, she fears that she will turn back into her old habits.

She said that she’s concerned about relapsing back into substance abuse when she has more free time.

She said, “When I’m busy and not left with me in my own head, I’m fine. I worry about when the show stops – slipping back into negativity, drink and drugs. I’m taking precautions so I won’t get in that position. My life when I drink is so dark and miserable.”

What I worry about with her is that after she has her foot surgery, she’ll slip into abusing prescription drugs again, because of the medications she will receive.

I hope she’s okay, just the same. I’m rooting for her on the show and hope she wins, she has a huge fan base and is doing rather well on the show.

by roberta on Nov.17, 2009, under articles

91031X5_OSBOURNE_B-GR_01Kelly Osbourne really blossomed as a dancer and has come a long way.

Not disappointing tonight, Kelly has made it through to the finals next week. She stepped it up last night with her Rhumba, her Quickstep, and the Cha Cha Cha.

Her performances, along with the judges’ scores and your votes have propelled Kelly to the next round!

Congrats Kelly!

91013M2_OSMOND_B-GR_17On tonight’s “Dancing With The Stars”, it was just announced that Donny Osmond has just secured himself a place in the finals.

Even though he started off with a rather lackluster performance, he brought in when he did his Jitterbug and Samba. It looks like the fans aren’t ready to see him go just yet.

Are you excited that Donny is in the finals?!?

Whitney Houston to perform on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ finale

by roberta on Nov.17, 2009, under articles

90715W8_HOUSTON_B-GR_01The stars are really coming out of the woodwork for the semi-finals and finals for reality dance show, “Dancing With The Stars”.

Joining the stars and their professional counterparts on tomorrow night’s finals announcement show are Alicia Keys and British songstress Leona Lewis.

Keys will be performing her song, “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” from her album, “The Element Of Freedom” (see the cover here). Lewis will also take the stage to perform her hit song, “Happy”, from her newly released album, “Echo”.

On the season finale of the show, on November 24th, Grammy award winning artist Whitney Houston will be performing. We haven’t received word yet as to her song choice, but we’ll hope that the performance will be better than last time on “X Factor”.

As far as I’m concerned, Whitney is the queen diva and cannot be dethroned. She’ll rock it.

Mya on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ recap

by roberta on Nov.16, 2009, under articles

70922c2_mya_b_gr_01Mya and Dmitry Chaplin have really come a long way on “Dancing With The Stars”. She’s been nothing but a very talented and energetic dancer.

On tonight’s semi-finals, they are doing the Waltz first. Mya’s dress was really pretty and they did a fine job. They received a total score of 28 and it was well-deserved. I can’t wait to see their next dance.

Video of the Waltz and more commentary, after the jump! (continue reading…)
