The Foo Fighters are back in the studio working on their upcoming album. Dave Grohl says that the band has already started working on the followup to 2007′s album, Echoes, Silence Patience and Grace.

Dave said, “Foo Fighters have just started writing and we’re going to start recording in September so life is full of music.”

Exciting news, can’t wait to hear their new album!

Them Crooked Vultures (consisting of Dave Grohl, Joshua Homme and John Paul Jones) performed their new single, “New Fang” as well as “Mind Eraser, No Chaser” on tonight’s episode of “Saturday Night Live”.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl said that he knew that Kurt Cobain was fragile and that he was already prepared for his death by the time he committed suicide.

He said, “There are some people that you meet in life that you just know that they are not going to live to be 100 years old. In some ways, you kind of prepare yourself emotionally for that to be a reality.”

He said that learning of Cobain’s death was a shock and that he was heartbroken at the news of his passing.

He added, “It was a terrible surprise. It was probably the worst thing that has happened to me in my life. I remember the day after that I woke up and I was heartbroken that he was gone. I just felt like, ‘Okay, so I get wake up today and have another day and he doesn’t. Usually it takes something like that for people to appreciate life as a gift and you have to take advantage of the time that you have. Sometimes you just can’t save someone from themselves.”

So true, and still so sad. RIP Kurt Cobain. You were taken from the world too young.

Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters frontman, has warned Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan to not give in to the temptation of drugs and alcohol and insists that the party lifestyle can be destructive.

Hello?! McFly?!!? Isn’t too late for Britney? (And Lindsay Lohan, for that matter) She’s already been to rehab and is still partying like there’s no tomorrow. She’s sucked in dude! Save your Nirvana anecdotes for someone you can actually help.

He should go hit up Hannah Montana, it’s not too late for her.

Dave Grohl has been dreaming lately of the late frontman to Nirvana, Kurt Cobain.

Grohl, who drummed in Nirvana but now fronts Foo Fighters, has regular nighttime visions of Cobain hiding from him. He says, “I still dream about Kurt. Every time I see him in a dream, I’ll be amazed and I get this feeling that everyone else thinks he’s dead. “It always feels totally real, probably because I’m a very vivid dreamer. But, in my dreams, Kurt’s usually been hiding – we’ll get together and I’ll end up asking him, ‘God, where have you been?’”

It’s Kurt trying to tell Dave that Courtney is killing his soul.
