Singer Demi Lovato has inked a multi-book deal and will be opening up about her struggles with addiction in a new memoir.
At just 21-years-old, the Skyscraper singer has already battled drug addiction, depression and gone to rehab for her troubles, and now she’s ready to share the details in her own words.
Lovato signed the new deal with publishing company Feiwel and Friends, and her first publication is entitled Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year, which features a collection of her inspirational messages on Twitter.
In a video posted on the social networking website, she announced, “One of the things that has helped me in my recovery is taking every day, one day at a time. I’m a firm believer of starting out the day right with an inspirational quote and sort of a morning meditation, so I’ve put together 365 of my favorite quotes. It’s something that I’m excited about and I hope it inspires you to stay strong.”
Staying Strong hits stores in November, and Lovato’s next book will be a memoir to delve deeper in her past struggles. The singer spent months in rehab in 2010 and 2011 following a breakdown on tour in South America when she jumped ship from the Jonas Brothers tour.

Singer and X Factor judge Demi Lovato is set to appear in a cameo appearance on hit TV musical Glee.
Lovato will make a guest appearance on Ryan Murphy’s musical series, in which she will play a love interest for Naya Rivera’s lesbian character Santana Lopez.
Leaking the news at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Rivera told Gossip Cop, “She’s playing my love interest so I’m very, very excited about that. We get to sing a song together… I’m excited to work with her. We’re bringing her to the dark side.”
Is this something that will get you tuning into Glee? What are your thoughts on Lovato joining the show as Santana’s girlfriend? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
Demi Lovato is in recovery for a possible addiction issue as well as cutting and an eating disorder, but she still calls former Disney starlet Miley Cyrus her friend. Despite the fact that Miley is singing about drugs in her new song We Can’t Stop, Demi says that she will always love and support her pal. In fact, she said that doesn’t care for the life of partying like her friend does, but she will support her endlessly.
Demi revealed in a new interview, “She knows how I feel about the whole partying thing. I love her to death and I’m always like, ‘Just be careful’ and she’s like, ‘Dude, I’m chilling. It’s fine.’ But I care for her so much that I’m so protective, but she’s good. She’s got a good head on her shoulders.”
Shouldn’t Demi perhaps be trying to encourage her friend to stay away from drugs? A real friend would get Miley help, like maybe rehab? We could see her possibly benefiting from that, don’t you think?
Is Demi Lovato dissing on Justin Bieber during her time as a judge on the upcoming season of The X Factor USA 2013? It would appear so, according to this latest report from celebrity gossip website TMZ.
Reportedly, Demi was judging some of the acts when one contestant got dissed for acting like a punk while on the stage.
It all went down Wednesday on the campus of USC when Demi took exception to the attitude one contestant was giving off. Sources on set say when it was Demi’s turn to give her opinion on the 22-year-old wannabe, she said that the industry already has too many artists with bad attitudes and then commented, “We don’t need another little punk running the streets.”
Lovato’s next shot was less subtle … when a young man auditioned with Bieber’s own song, “As Long As You Love Me.” We’re told the audience loved his performance and so did the judges, but during her critique, Demi remarked, “Well finally someone can sing the song the way it was meant to be sung.”
Apparently Demi wasn’t feeling like she was in the insulting mood when she took to her official Twitter account to discuss the teen singer. She tweeted, “Btw – no shade thrown at Justin. So many people audition with his songs.. Finally someone sang it the way it was meant to be sung.. Meaning, finally someone sang it the way JUSTIN sang it. Ain’t got nothin’ but love for @justinbieber and his beliebers.”
Was Demi merely trying to head off Justin’s throngs of fans before they all got crazy and decided to start the hate in her general direction? What do you think? Share your thoughts below.
Demi Lovato covers the newest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine and inside, she talks of her suicidal feelings at the very young age of only seven years old. Via ICYDK:
At seven-years-old, she was singing the theme song on Barney & Friends, but her troubles were just beginning. She said, “At the time, I was just so grateful to be on TV, but I was also really struggling. Looking back, there was a connection, probably between any kid who’s ever sang that song to Barney, a little place in a child’s heart, a void, that could be filled. And maybe Barney fills it. Even before Barney, I was suicidal. I was 7.”
We’re glad that she is learning to deal with her demons and is getting everything under control in her life. Kudos to her for that. Keep on staying strong, Demi!
