Dancing With The Stars Eliminates Maria Menounos & Derek Hough
by Noah Johnson on May.16, 2012, under articles

It was a shocking elimination on last night’s “Dancing With The Stars” as we said goodbye to TV correspondent Maria Menounos and her pro dance partner Derek Hough. We sure thought there would be a place for them in the Finals. Alas, the viewing public did not agree with that assumption and sent Maria and Derek packing. In case you’ve missed the elimination, we’ve recapped it here for your perusal.
On Monday night’s performance show, Maria and Derek went last for each round. First, they performed an Argentine Tango. Len Goodman said that he was caught up in the whole thing and that it was a “silent fabulous”. Bruno Tonioli said that the dance was enticing and titillating. Carrie Ann Inaba said that the journey and transformation that Maria has been on is only proven by this beautiful dance. For their efforts, they received a perfect score of thirty points.
Lastly, the duo closed out the show with their Jive. It was a really cute dance and it showed off how much she has grown throughout this season of the show. Bruno commented that he really liked the quirky and unexpected details and added that it all worked beautifully. Carrie Anne said that she is a winner tonight and that the dance was a “stunner”. Len said that it wasn’t a traditional Jive, but he liked the footwork. He added that the dance felt great with the music and he liked it. For this dance they scored a near perfect score of 29 points.
On last night’s elimination episode, it all came down to being between Donald Driver and Maria Menounos being in the bottom two. After the nationwide vote, it was determined that Maria and Derek were eliminated.
Going to next week’s Finals are Donald Driver, Katherine Jenkins and William Levy. Were you shocked by the elimination results?

Derek Hough Infatuated With Katherine Jenkins
by Jessica LeFevre on Apr.18, 2012, under articles

Dancing With The Stars hunk Derek Hough is reportedly infatuated with Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins. According to the latest gossip, Derek has fallen head over heels for Katherine.
Katherine just ended a long-time relationship with her former fiance Gethin Jones in December, so she’s not ready to jump back into anything just yet. A source revealed, “He loves how down-to-Earth she is. He said she was over at his condo last week and didn’t have a scrap of makeup on and drank a beer. She isn’t ready for dating after her split with Gethin Jones, though it hasn’t stopped him being completely besotted.”
She recently battled rumors suggesting that she was dating her professional dance partner Mark Ballas. She said, “It’s inevitable but it’s just complete nonsense. We have totally hit it off and we’re having a great time. But he came to London to start training me and within – I think within twelve hours – is all it took before there was that first photo and immediately we were of course dating, which it’s not true. He has a girlfriend and I’m not ready, I’m not ready for any of that yet. I’m just going to concentrate on the dancing.”

On tonight’s show talk show correspondent and wrestler Maria Menounos and her professional dance partner Derek Hough are doing the Salsa. Last week, Maria danced with injured ribs and it didn’t seem to hurt her all that much, so will she be able to continue to tow the line?
WATCH THE VIDEO:
Our commentary:
Maria is also dancing injured tonight, after falling flat on her chin. She’s in tears and is scared to move it. When she finally moved it, she was fine. For the rest of the rehearsal, she wrapped herself in bubble wrap. Ha. Can she bring the sex appeal by the truck load this week?
The dance is fast and furious, we like it. They look cute together, I wonder if they’re dating. He held her and ripped off his shirt — and afterward they kissed! Nice!
The judges’ commentary:
Carrie Ann: Wow! That was hot. She is fantastic and she worked the hips. She had the magic going on. They didn’t need the kiss, it was a sell out.
Len: He thought two things were revealed: Derek’s body and her talent. She’s a wonderful dancer.
Bruno: He licked his lips and asked if it was legal, can he get them a room and can he join in? He said their Salsa was hot!
Scores:
Carrie Ann: 9

Our commentary on the dance:
Maria sheds the good girl image for a black dress to dance in. Derek is rocking the faux-hawk. The crowd is cheering as she dances. She’s doing fabulous. She doesn’t appear to be injured at all when she dances. She pulled it off!
Judge’s comments:
Carrie Ann: She’s a tough one. They have incredible chemistry when they dance. There were beautiful lines and passion. It was good, very good.
Len: The Tango is a mix of anger and control, and occasionally they lost control. She’s got great posture. It was pretty good.
Bruno: It was the best. With a broken foot, she did well, so he looks forward to seeing what she can do when her foot is healed.

Life & Style magazine reported the split in their latest issue. A pal of hers confirmed the news, saying, “Their relationship reached its peak. It was always casual.”
Lauren began dating Derek right after her relationship with Kyle Howard ended, so it’s likely that it was just a rebound relationship. Another friend said, “She had fun with Derek – he used to send her cute texts and sing to her – but she always kept her options open.”
A third source claimed, “This was a rebound that wasn’t going to last. Derek never thought it would, either.”

Jennifer Grey used Patrick Swayze’s memory on DWTS
by Lydia Harris on Sep.21, 2010, under articles

If you were watching Dancing With The Stars‘ season premiere when Jennifer Grey came on and started yelling “Nobody puts Baby in a corner!” at your television, then congratulations, you’re probably not alone there. (Or really was it only me?)
Shame on the producers of the show for allowing her to use the song, These Arms Of Mine by Otis Redding, from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. That was just begging for someone to bring up the ghost of Patrick Swayze.
Wouldn’t be reasonable to suggest that this was an unfair advantage to the competition?
Did you tear up? Own up wimps!!!
