Demi Lovato Slams Disney Channel Over Eating Disorders Joke
by Jessica LeFevre on Dec.26, 2011, under articles

Demi Lovato was left fuming mad at her former employer, Disney, after learning that they had a joke about eating disorders in an episode of So Random and Shake It Up.
In 2010, Demi checked herself into treatment after quitting the Jonas Brothers’ tour. It was later revealed that she was dealing with an eating disorder, among other things.
“I could just eat you up, well if I ate” – Disney Chanel’s Shake It Up…. What are we promoting here? #notfunnyATALL
I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress’ from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about…..that very disease….. #nice…& they said something about that on So Random. it pisses me off when they joke about it.
And is it just me or are the actress’ getting THINNER AND THINNER…. I miss the days of RAVEN, and LIZZIE MCGUIRE…and society wonders why there are 7 yr old with eating disorders…yet disney is making jokes about it. Dear Disney Channel, EATING DISORDERS ARE NOT SOMETHING TO JOKE ABOUT.
She quickly received a tweet from Disney’s PR team, with this message: “@ddlovato – we hear you & are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them. It’s NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders!”
Good for Demi for bringing light to something that plagues so many people. Good on Disney for responding so quickly. But you have to wonder who approved those shows in the first place?
Selena Gomez doing a Disney reality show?
by Jessica LeFevre on Mar.26, 2011, under articles

According to reports, Disney princess Selena Gomez is gearing up to host a sort of “alternative series” for the house of mouse!
Reports have suggested that Selena is set to begin production on a show with the Disney Channel following the completion of her current show, The Wizards Of Waverly Place.
A source said, “Selena shot the pilot and it’s basically like Ashton Kutcher’s old show Punk’d, but with the Disney kids. Selena was having a ton of fun with it. She’s a goofball at heart.”

Demi Lovato’s ‘Stay Strong’ tattoo – Photo
by Lydia Harris on Mar.14, 2011, under articles

Disney starlet Demi Lovato has plenty of reasons to “Stay Strong” — and now she has the slogan tattooed on her wrists.
On one wrist, she has “stay”, while on the other, is, “strong”. Demi recently checked herself out of rehab for “physical and emotional issues”, so that could be a reminder of how she overcame that tough time in her life.
However, there have been a lot of reports over the years suggesting that Demi was/is a cutter, so this could be a reminder for her to rise above that.
What do you think of Demi’s new ink? Let us know in the comments!
Selena Gomez rejected by Disney???
by Lydia Harris on Jan.25, 2011, under articles

Selena Gomez has revealed that she was once rejected by the head honchos over at the Disney Channel!
That seems kind of odd, considering all of the success and fame that she’s gotten as a result of her career. Once, she was told that she wasn’t strong enough to be a face for the house of mouse.
According to reports, she was turned down by a director roughly seven years ago. She said, “When I was eleven, I had a casting director say to me, ‘You’re not strong enough to carry your own show. You’re not strong enough to be part of the Disney Channel.”
She went on to reveal, “I cried all the time afterwards, but I just kept on working hard. Whenever you have a goal, whether you want to be a doctor or a singer, people will find a way to bring you down.”
She added, “I always tell people that if you have something you’re really passionate about, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it.”
Wise words indeed!
Demi Lovato is a Twitter quitter
by Jed Eckert on Sep.09, 2010, under articles

Just like fellow Disney starlet Miley Cyrus before her, Demi Lovato has decided to be the latest celebrity to walk away from social networking service, Twitter.
Demi was saddened to cancel a show, but apparently she had no control over that. When fans barraged her with messages, she couldn’t take it anymore.
All of this has got me wondering the most important question about all of this Twitter quitting madness. Are we going to get a rap video from Demi about how she quit??? I’m dying to know. As a matter of fact, I’m going to hold my breath waiting for an answer.
(Not really.)
Taylor Momsen feuding with Miley Cyrus?
by Lydia Harris on Jul.18, 2010, under articles

Taylor Momsen recently opened up her mouth to say that she’s not Miley Cyrus, as if we didn’t already know that. Now, she’s denying any feud with the Disney star, saying that she doesn’t even know Miley.
Ahh yes, the raccoon denies knowing the chipmunk, does she? Then how does she explain the above photo?
And we get it Taylor, you’re not some bubble gum pop star, you’re all about grunge, dark eye makeup and songs with meaning.
In a new interview, Taylor said, “I don’t even know Miley. There’s just no comparison between us, you know. I’m a rocker, she’s a pop star. We’re entirely different things, there’s a big difference between us. I have nothing against her, I don’t even know her. I just don’t listen to her stuff. I don’t give a sh*t. It’s ridiculous that Disney is as relevant as it is today even with adults. Where is the real music? What happened to Zeppelin, and people who play their own instruments? There’s always going to be pop but it’s not real music, it’s not me.”
Well if she doesn’t know Miley, then why is she bagging on her so much? What the crap raccoon chick?
Video: Selena Gomez supports Lindsay Lohan
by Lydia Harris on Jul.16, 2010, under articles
Selena Gomez is such a good kid, I really like her. I don’t think that this young lady would have anything bad to say about anyone, and that totally makes her one of the best role models. That is, until she gets close to turning 18 and goes nuts and tries to shed that Disney image. Then all bets are off!
Until then, in a new interview, Selena said that she fully supports Lindsay Lohan and that “we all make mistakes”. Check out the video after the jump! (continue reading…)

Disney markets Hannah Montana cherries
by Roberta Ferguson on Aug.13, 2009, under articles
This has got to be the dumbest marketing ploy ever. Disney is selling their “Disney Garden” brand of Hannah Montana cherries.
I know the movie is supposed to be about losing her innocence or whatnot, but this is just plain stupid. Bad marketing guys, *slaps their hands* – try harder next time, this was so obvious!

Disney Looking To Layoff The “Least Cute” Jonas Brother?
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.03, 2009, under articles

Ouch! I guess that would cut below the belt! Apparently a source close to Disney says that they have seriously considered taking the layoffs to the “talent”. (Say Miley Cyrus, please someone say Miley)
Alas, no, it’s not Miley (much to my disdain). They’re reportedly looking to axe the “least cute” of the Jonas Brothers.
The insider says that the company has been “taking a hard look at ‘right-sizing’ the Jonas Brothers.”
The executive says, “If you’ve ever heard these guys live, it’s pretty clear singing isn’t necessarily their strong suit.” He adds that their vocals and enhanced and “it’d be just as easy to make two brothers sound as good – or as bad – as the three brothers sound now.”
Interesting! Sorry Kevin, get your things, you’re outta here!

Miley Cyrus & Nick Jonas Hug – Awkward?
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.20, 2009, under articles

This is a fan video of the Kids Inaugural Party (yes they had one, and why? I dunno) and the commentary is from the girl with the camera. The Jonas Brothers are all on the stage along with the rest of the Disney kids.
Awkward hugging incident happens at 1:10, so you can skip this annoying girl’s mouth. You can tell Miley Cyrus was digging that hug. Just goes to show ya, no matter how much money you have, you can’t always get what you want.
