Dr. Conrad Murray Sentenced In Michael Jackson Manslaughter Trial
by Lydia Harris on Nov.29, 2011, under articles

Dr. Conrad Murray appeared in court today to be sentenced in the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial.
Dr. Murray’s attorney tried to object to the cameras being in the courtroom. Judge Michael Pastor overruled the defendant’s right to privacy with regard to the cameras, due to the fact that he recorded a lot of his interactions prior to the court’s ruling for his documentary.
The Prosecution presented the court with statutes that dictate that this involuntary manslaughter should be classified as a serious felony. They want Conrad Murray to serve out his sentence in State Prison.
The Prosecution asked the Judge to allow the family’s representative to speak on their behalf. Mr. Brian Panish spoke as the family’s attorney. He said that Michael’s parents couldn’t imagine living past Michael and his children will grow up without a father. They aren’t there to seek revenge, as there is nothing they can do that would bring him back.
They want the judge to impose the maximum sentence to remind physicians that they cannot bypass their Hippocratic oath to do no harm.
The Prosecution’s attorney David Walgren recounted how Dr. Murray was careless and reckless with the life of Michael Jackson. He said that Dr. Murray looked out for himself and not Michael, nor his family, even after Michael’s death. He is asking the Judge to deny probation, citing the Judge’s words regarding the “homicide” of Michael Jackson – during the reading of the verdict. He said that it’s the People’s position that the doctor should be mandated to serve four years in State Prison after he played Russian Roulette with Michael’s life nightly. (continue reading…)
Lindsay Lohan’s Attorney, Shawn Holley, Talks Dr. Conrad Murray
by Jessica LeFevre on Nov.28, 2011, under articles

Lindsay Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Holley, apparently has an opinion on the manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray. On November 7th, Conrad Murray was found guilty of manslaughter in the Michael Jackson case and faces up to four years if convicted.
Shawn is a person who has battled the judge in defense of Lindsay, so she knows a thing or two about being the devil’s advocate. She claims that the Doctor should not get the full four year sentence for his role in the death of Michael — primarily because it wouldn’t be fair.
With Murray’s sentencing hearing set for tomorrow in L.A. — we asked the effervescent Shawn Holley if Conrad deserves the 4 year prison sentence he’s expected to receive.
Holley makes it clear she doesn’t excuse Murray’s “horrible” crime … but claims he shouldn’t get the full sentence because, “He has no record.”
Murray’s hearing is set to begin at 8:30 AM tomorrow — TMZ will be livestreaming the whole thing.
Stay tuned to see how long the Doctor gets for a sentence. The worst case scenario is that he gets house arrest and a very minimal amount of jail time when he appears in court tomorrow.
What do you think of Shawn’s comments? Does he deserve the entire four years? Sound off in the comments below and let us know your thoughts!
Conrad Murray To Pay Over 100 Million Dollars To MJ’s Kids?
by Jeffrey Noble on Nov.25, 2011, under articles

The prosecutors in the case against Conrad Murray are asking the judge to make Murray pay over 100 million dollars. The documents filed by the D.A. says that the kids are “entitled to wages or profits lost due to injury incurred by the victim.”
The three kids are considered victims under the and require compensation for their loss. This includes wages, lost profits and funeral expenses. They claimed that they would make at least 100 million in the “This Is It” tour. The D.A. also says that they want the maximum sentence of four years because he was “risking Mr. Jackson’s life every night” by giving him Propofol to get him to sleep.
The D.A. claims that Doctor Murray lied to cover up his mistake of administering too much Propofol. Even if Murray gets the four years he will not go to prison….which is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. The new California law prohibits it. Instead, he will spend about two years in the Los Angeles county jail.
The questions still remain: Did he do it on purpose? Does Murray deserve the full sentence of four years? What do you think? Sound off in the comments below!
Dr. Conrad Murray Reveals Why He Didn’t Call 911 Right Away
by Jessica LeFevre on Nov.12, 2011, under articles

Dr. Conrad Murray never took the stand in his own defense during the manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson. Yet, in his new documentary, he claimed that he didn’t call 911 right away because he is a trained cardiologist and he could do whatever the paramedics could do upon arrival.
He made that statement in his documentary, Michael Jackson And The Doctor: A Fatal Friendship, which aired on television Friday night. His lawyers, however, never presented that as evidence in his trial.
The doc goes on to say he would have quit working for MJ if he woke up that morning — because Murray believes what happened to Jackson was the result of “his own hands.”
Obviously, he wasn’t trained enough, as he performed CPR on Michael on a bed, using only one hand. Dr. Murray faces up to four years in jail as a result of his inaction.
Dr. Conrad Murray Michael Jackson Manslaughter Trial VERDICT: GUILTY!
by Jessica LeFevre on Nov.07, 2011, under articles

It’s been six weeks of the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray. Both sides have presented their cases, expert witnesses and facts.
The Prosecution called doctors, a Propofol expert and a sleep study expert to reveal that Dr. Murray was egregiously violating the standard of care in his treatment of Michael.
Even the Defense couldn’t really argue against that fact. Dr. Murray should have called 911 within two minutes of finding Michael not breathing. He should have had proper monitoring equipment and he shouldn’t have been using Propofol in Michael’s bedroom.
Upon cross-examination, the Defense’s expert witness even conceded that they wouldn’t have administered Propofol without being in a hospital setting without proper monitoring equipment and back up doctors, in case something bad happened.
In the end, the jury deliberated for eight hours and 14 minutes and a verdict has been reached as of 11:01 AM PST today.
Michael’s sister LaToya, tweeted, “Verdict is FINALLY IN!!! I’m on my way! I’m shaking uncontrollably!” right after it was announced that a verdict had been reached.
We’re going LIVE to the courtroom to let you know what’s going down as it happens — so stay tuned!
Dr. Murray arrived a few minutes late to the courthouse. He’s looking nervous. The foreman has just provided the jury forms to the judge.
He’s been found GUILTY of involuntary manslaughter!
Michael Jackson Manslaughter Trial: No Verdict Just Yet (UPDATE: VERDICT IS IN!)
by Jessica LeFevre on Nov.06, 2011, under articles

The Michael Jackson manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray will go into its second day of jury deliberations tomorrow. The jury has yet to reach a verdict in the case, and we are anxiously awaiting the outcome.
The jury first started deliberations in the case on Friday, after final closing arguments were given by both sides. The Prosecution referred to the Defense’s expert witness, Dr. White, as giving “junk science”. The Defense insisted that Dr. Murray did not kill Michael Jackson. They tried to make the case that Michael overdosed himself while Dr. Murray was out of the room.
Still, we believe that he was negligent in providing Propofol to Michael in his bedroom. Dr. Murray was also negligent in that upon learning of Michael’s addictions, he didn’t refer the singer to a sleep doctor or refuse to take him on as a client.
We know that if it wouldn’t have been Dr. Murray, it would’ve likely been another doctor…but this could have been prevented with a simple 911 call when Dr. Murray found MJ not breathing.
What do you think of the case? Stay tuned, we’ll be covering this story when the jury reaches a decision.
UPDATE: A verdict has been reached as of 11:01 AM PST today. The decision is expected to be read within two hours. Stay tuned, we’ll be covering the verdict live, as it’s read!
UPDATE: He’s been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. VERDICT HERE.

Dr. Conrad Murray’s Michael Jackson Manslaughter Verdict To Be Given Today?
by Jed Eckert on Nov.04, 2011, under articles

As you may already know, the closing arguments were given by both sides in the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray. Now, the jury is in deliberations over whether or not the doctor administered the fatal dose of Propofol on June 25, 2009.
The Prosecution called Dr. White’s claims “junk science” and said that even if Michael pushed his own drugs that day, Dr. Murray should still be considered negligent. He had drugs laying around and left the singer for two minutes or longer to use the bathroom and take phone calls, without monitoring him.
In the end, we believe that if Dr. Murray had called 911 within an appropriate amount of time, he would still be with us today. His failure to call 911 for 20 minutes was a sure sign that he wanted to clean up the evidence. He took an oath to do no harm and he violated that.
Playing the devil’s advocate for a moment, we would venture to say that if it weren’t Dr. Murray, Michael would have found another doctor to inject him with Propofol to get put to sleep.
Stay tuned, if the verdict is released today, we will have that right here at Earsucker! Do you think he’s guilty of manslaughter? Did the Prosecution prove their case? Sound off in the comments below and let us know what you think!
Dr. Conrad Murray Will Not Be Testifying In Michael Jackson Manslaughter Trial
by Jed Eckert on Oct.31, 2011, under articles

The question as to whether or not Dr. Conrad Murray will testify in his own defense at the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial has been answered. The Defense will resume its questioning of their final witness, Dr. Paul White, but Dr. Murray will not be taking the stand.
A source said, “Dr. Murray has told his lawyers from day one that he wants to testify, and tell his side of events. But lead attorney Ed Chernoff has determined that Dr. Murray will not take the stand because he wouldn’t be able to withstand the tough cross examination that the DA would subject him to.”
The source added, “Clients always want to testify, but in this case, Walgren would be able to wear him down, and Dr. Murray just wouldn’t be able to overcome the basic facts of the case: not calling 911 right away, failure to tell emergency room doctors and first responders that he had given Jackson propofol, and not having the proper monitoring equipment.”
Is it possible for the doctor to walk away from the trial without jail time? What do you think?

Dr. Conrad Murray Gave Michael Jackson Propofol After His Breathing Stopped
by Jed Eckert on Oct.21, 2011, under articles

Dr. Conrad Murray’s manslaughter case doesn’t seem to be going well for him. Yesterday, the Prosecution talked to Propofol expert, Dr. Steven Shafer, who told the court that the doctor continued to administer Propofol to Michael Jackson, even after his breathing stopped.
According to Dr. Shafer, Michael was still receiving an infusion of Propofol, even after his heart stopped beating.
On Thursday, he testified that Michael “died – but he’s died with the infusion running.”
He also testified that the late singer couldn’t have ingested the drug orally in order to sleep. He advised the court that he did a test on six people, who drank Propofol and were unaffected by it. He said that when taken orally, Propofol is metabolized by the liver before it reaches the blood, therefore it must be injected to receive the anesthetic effect.
Stay tuned as more details are revealed when the Defense begins its case.

Prince Michael Jackson To Serve As Rebuttal Witness In Dr. Conrad Murray Manslaughter Trial?
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.18, 2011, under articles

As we’ve previously reported, the manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray is set to resume on Wednesday, when the court will hear the testimony of the Prosecution’s final witness.
The Deputy District Attorney, David Walgren has met with Prince Michael Jackson to discuss the possibility of them calling him to testify as a rebuttal witness against Dr. Murray.
Michael’s mother, Katherine, wants to make sure that her grandson is protected in the situation. A source said, “Even though she is steadfastly against prince testifying, she recognizes this is something he feels he must do if asked. Prince has information that’s clearly relevant to the proceedings. Make no mistake, Prince would have been called as a witness already if he was an adult.”
