Right where “American Idol” left a void in reality television for singing competitions, “Duets” was right there to pick up the slack. Fresh off of crowning Phillip Phillips the season eleven winner of the show, the network offered up its latest reality singing show, “Duets”. Did you watch?

The show has four mentors, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Robin Thicke and Jennifer Nettles who work closely with their proteges in order to win the competition. Each week, they sing live with their contestants and they then vote on who has the best voice.

Thursday, the show was left with the contestants in this order of how well they performed: J Rome, Johnny Gray, Alexis Foster, John Glosson, Olivia Chisholm, Bridget Carrington, Jordan Meredith and Jason Farol.

Apparently, Selena Gomez thinks it’s a good idea for her to do a duet with Justin Bieber.

In a new interview with Mmm Magazine, she said, “I would love that! Yeah, I’ll probably ask him if he wants to. He’s really busy, especially since he’s on tour, which I totally understand. I love that kid so much. He has definitely been an inspiration to me in many ways. Justin has become one of my best friends. So doing a duet together would be a dream come true for both of us. I think it’d be so much fun, so hopefully it will happen!”

According to reports, Beyonce is gearing up to record a duet with Kings Of Leon. Talk about weird collaborations!

She was said to have approached Nathan, Caleb, Jared and Matthew Followill at a Grammy afterparty where she discussed the joint venture.

A source said, “Beyonce looked stunning and was chatting to virtually every major star on hand. She kissed Kings Of Leon on their cheeks and congratulated them on winning an award for ‘Use Somebody’. They were chatting for ages. She knows how huge they are in the UK and loves their album. She was scouting for people to collaborate with and has been talking about doing something different with a rock band. Kings Of Leon would be perfect.”

What do you think? I think she needs to collaborate with Lady Gaga more, but that’s my humble opinion.

According to Demi Lovato’s Twitter account, she’s anxious over a duet that she’s doing with Joe Jonas.

She took to her official Twitter earlier today to say, “@joejonas Yayyy I can’t wait to sing our new duet together! :D”

To which he responded, “@ddlovato you mean our new hip hop duet?”

Madonna is reportedly set to do a duet with Janet Jackson as a tribute to Michael Jackson. They were said to have bonded over dinner after Sunday’s VMAs.

Janet performed “Scream” which was a duet with Michael, and then we saw Madonna’s touching tribute to him.

A source said, “It was a meeting of two great musical minds. Madonna was so impressed with Janet’s tribute to Michael that they started talking about how great it would be to honor him by doing something together…There was definitely something very interesting being planned between them.”

Colombian pop singer Shakira says that she wants to work with “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson. She said that she fell in love with his movie after record label executives found similar themes of that to her new album, “She Wolf”.

She said, “The president of my label said, ‘Have you checked out Twilight? It’s about wolves and vampires and things.’ And I’m like, ‘Ah, that’s up my alley. I mean, where is it?’ And I watched it and loved it.” (continue reading…)

Former season six “American Idol” winner, Jordin Sparks says that she wants to do a duet with season eight runner-up, Adam Lambert.

Sparks revealed her collaboration idea, calling Lambert’s voice “out of this world”.

She adds, “Not since Freddie Mercury or Steven Tyler has there been a voice like his. It would be really cool to do something with him and maybe release my inner rockstar.”

Sparks also praised “American Idol” season one champ, Kelly Clarkson as a role model in how she’s conducting her career.

She says, “I’d love to do something with Kelly Clarkson because she’s been a monumental influence on me. I love how she handles her celebrity. She’s not in the tabloids a lot but everyone knows and respects her because she’s got an amazing voice. That’s something I aim towards.”

Sparks also revealed that she views original Idol Kelly Clarkson as a role model in conducting her pop career.

Esmee Denters is the first artist to be signed to Justin Timberlake’s Tennman Records, so to give her a boost into the limelight, Timberlake added his own touch to the song.
