E.L. James’ popular “mommy porn” series Fifty Shades Of Grey has been finally given a release date! For all of us speculating who would be taking the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, this is most certainly excellent news.
Recent speculation has suggested that the role of Christian would be bestowed upon the likes of Vampire Diaries actor Ian Somerhalder. Others have said that the role would go to either Alexander Skarsgard, Matt Bomer, Channing Tatum or Armie Hammer (spoiler alert: he doesn’t want to do it).
The first movie in the trilogy is set to hit theaters on August 1, 2014. Until then, we are left with nothing but speculation as to who will be playing the role of the billionaire S&M loving executive. Who do you want to see taking on the role of Christian Grey? What about Anastasia Steele? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
Is Twilight actor Robert Pattinson gearing up to star as the lead role of Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of E.L. James’ bestselling novel Fifty Shades Of Grey?
We searched the internet to find the sexiest possible photo that we could possibly find of Rob to use for this post. He isn’t a bad looking guy — but when you look into his eyes here, do you see the smoldering sexiness that is supposed to be Christian Grey? Or do you see that sparkly vampire kid from Twilight — you know, the one that Kristen Stewart fell for during those four years of filming?
Rob was said to be hanging out with E.L. this weekend at a party at his Los Feliz mansion. The party was said to be a Great Gatsby themed bash and several high profile celebrities were in attendance.
Does this mean that she is looking to court him to play the role of Christian for her movie trilogy? What do you think of the idea? Is this the ideal Christian that you see when you’ve torn through the pages of the Fifty Shades books? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below. In addition, if you don’t think he is the perfect fit, then share with us who is!
In case you hadn’t heard, E.L. James’ book “Fifty Shades Of Grey” is being made into a movie — or three. Well, the screenwriter, Kelly Marcel is now chiming in on the MPAA rating for the racy movie. According to her, the movie will be just as racy as the books and will garner an NC-17 rating from the board.
She revealed in a new interview, “Well, there is going to be a lot of sex in the film. It will be rated NC-17. It’s going to be raunchy.”
She went on to say that some of the sex scenes would be edited out in favor of the plot, but said, “We are 100% going there.” She said, “We did go through and decided which are our favorites and which are not. Most of them are in there, but I can’t say more than that.”
With regard to the male lead in the books, she said, “I just love Christian Grey, I feel….very deeply for him.”
Still, there has been no word released on who will be portraying the rich S&M freak and his submissive girlfriend Anastasia Steele. Who do you think would be a perfect fit for the roles? Did you expect the movie to get anything less than an NC-17 rating? Hit the comments and let us know your thoughts!
If you’re wondering who will be taking on the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the movie adaptation of “Fifty Shades Of Grey”, then you are not alone. The truth of the matter is that even the books’ author, E.L. James doesn’t even know. So it’s not yet cast in stone as far as who will take on the lead roles for the movie, but the author is making a wish list.
She revealed on Katie Couric’s talk show that she does have a short list of actors for the movie roles, but she’s not revealing the names on that list. She said, “I have three people who could play Christian and I think four who could play Anna, and I’m not going to tell you any of them.”
When speaking of creating the books, she said, “All this has been a huge shock to me. When I got the first email asking about the film rights, I nearly fell off my chair; it was a huge Hollywood agency! The books are my fantasy. I wrote them for me, really, and the wonderful thing about doing this is they seem to be other people’s fantasies, so I’m not such a pervert.”
Who do you think is going to make the cut to play Christian and Anastasia?
After much speculation online as to who will be taking on the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in E.L. James’ book “Fifty Shades Of Grey”, I finally finished the book. So, I will give you my opinion about the entire book as a whole. I couldn’t resist the erotic nature of the book, so we picked it up. Then, we put it back down numerous times. It was actually a struggle to get through the entire book. Why? I’ll tell you…
The book was written by a British woman about characters in the U.S. The only problem? The terms used to refer to every day items weren’t Americanized. An example would be how the characters take a “holiday” as opposed to a “vacation”. Another example would be Ana grabbing her “satchel” as opposed to her “bag” or “purse”.
Also of some annoyance were the crutch phrases that were used repetitively in the novel. Her “inner goddess” and “subconscious” were always on hand, being personified like squeamish girls or ladies dancing. The first time Ana referred to them, I thought, ‘Oh how cute.’ When it got to the fiftieth mention of said fictitious creatures, I was cringing and putting the book down.
Lastly, I felt as if the book was very poorly written and in desperate need of editing. There were countless spelling and grammatical errors throughout the book. It almost lends itself to the notion that the book was put on a rush release so that its author could rake in the profits from the movie rights.
Have you read the book? If so, what were your thoughts on this “mommy porn”? Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t say that I would see this movie. Especially if Ian Somerhalder, Alexander Skarsgard or Joe Manganiello get the lead role of Christian. Will you?
The ever hilarious Ellen DeGeneres tried to read the new S&M novel by E.L. James, Fifty Shades Of Grey — supposedly for the audio book. This is something that really needs to happen, because the book is begging for her comedic side to bring it to life. Don’t you think?
She begins reading the book, then stops and says, “I’m not going to read that!” After opening the book again, she stops and asks if it’s okay that she paraphrases. Ha.
Watch the video:
Later, Ellen uses props in order to try and bring the book to life. She has a whip, some chains, handcuffs and other items including a birdcage (?).
From the video’s description:
Ellen was asked to record the new steamy novel “50 Shades of Grey” for the audio book. Things didn’t go according to plan.
She is too funny. I hope someone seriously hires Ellen DeGeneres to read the audiobook for Fifty Shades Of Grey. After watching this hilarious video, it would feel like a crime to not pay her to read the whole thing on tape.
Who do you want to hear read the audiobook for this “masterpiece”? Samuel L. Jones? How about William Shatner? You can hear all of the pauses in it now, can’t you? And now you can’t un-hear it. You’re welcome.
