In case you hadn’t yet heard, Lindsay Lohan has officially signed on to play Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime movie, Liz and Dick. Now that the casting is out of the way for the lead role, we were curious as to who they would get to play Richard Burton.

Lindsay feels “lucky to be able to do this role” and said that she wants “to honor Elizabeth the way she should be honored because she helped a lot of people in her life.”

As far as Lindsay’s co-star for the movie? She has an idea of who she wants to play the role of Dick, but she doesn’t want to jinx it. When someone suggested that Gerard Butler would be perfect for the role, Lindsay replied, “I don’t know if he would do that, but he actually does remind me of Richard a lot.”

Interesting. I don’t think Gerard would lower himself from doing real movies that are in theaters to doing something for the Lifetime Channel. That’s one step above doing commercials, isn’t it? He would probably make a good Richard because he’s talented in his field, but he would just end up making Lindsay look stupid. What do you think?

She’s trying to revamp her career with a role as Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime movie, and meanwhile, he has just checked himself out of the Betty Ford Center after being in rehab for a pill addiction. Perhaps it is a match made in Heaven?

Reportedly, Lindsay and Gerard were seen canoodling at the Chateau Marmont where she is currently living last week. They were said to be very touchy feely with each other as they spoke.

A source said, “The two were laughing and telling jokes, and Butler kept his hands on both sides of her chair as he leaned in close to talk. She was soaking up the attention and even asked him to come closer so she could whisper in his ear.”

Now that Katy Perry and Russell Brand are getting divorced, it’s time for the rumor mill to go into full effect. Apparently there is a rumor floating around the internet suggesting that Katy has her sights set on Gerard Butler!

Why should she wait? Russell surely didn’t waste any time in jumping back into the dating scene, right? Gerard is hot and available, so we can’t really say that we blame her.

Now magazine is reporting that Katy has fallen head over heels in love with Gerard. Reportedly, the two were seen getting cozy with each other. Didn’t see that one coming, did you?

A source revealed, “Gerard’s always had a soft spot for her. As soon as he heard about her split from Russell Brand he got in touch.”

Recently, the two were said to have gotten so close that it was actually she who convinced him to check himself into rehab for his prescription drug habit. Before checking into the Betty Ford Center, he made sure to make time to take her out to dinner.

Yesterday, we reported that Gerard Butler had checked himself into treatment at the Betty Ford Center three weeks ago for an addiction issue regarding prescription medication.

Now, we’ve learned that the actor has returned home after completing his treatment. His rep released a statement, saying, “Gerard has completed a successful course of treatment and has returned home in good health.”

Previously, Gerard said that he had problems with alcohol and he didn’t care if he passed away in his sleep. In a previous interview with Red Bulletin, he revealed, “I used to drink until I couldn’t remember anything. I was just mad for it and on a death wish. It was madness. I’m very well behaved these days as a lot of the naughty stuff was when I was drinking.”

He was said to have been injured on the set of his movie Of Men And Mavericks and suspected that he was becoming too dependent on the pain medication that he was receiving in order to deal with the pain.

We’re glad that his time in rehab is done and he’s back to good health. Good for him for realizing that he had a problem before it got any worse.

Gerard Butler was having an issue with prescription drugs and cocaine, so the actor checked himself into rehab for treatment. And it wasn’t just any old rehab center, either. Gerry checked into the Betty Ford Center three weeks ago.

TMZ reports that the actor’s issues were all because of the physical demands of his movie 300, which was released in 2006. Afterward, he struggled with pain management. Things became worse during the filming for Of Men And Mavericks, because Gerard was hurt on December 18th from a surfing accident.

Sources tell TMZ … Butler also developed issues with cocaine, but the root problem appears to be the injuries and pain management.

He had a problem and dealt with it before the news got out. It beats suffering from addiction in silence, only to suffer the consequences later. Good for him for getting treatment. We’re surprised that this news was kept under wraps for as long as it was. Aren’t you?

This one still has all of us at the Earsucker headquarters laughing out loud. Last week, Eddie Cibrian’s ex-wife, Brandi Glanville told all about a week-long fling she supposedly had with Gerard Butler.

She made a point to make sure everyone knew that it wasn’t just some one night stand. It was a week-long thing and it was soooo good! He was so great in the sack that when Brandi was asked to rate Gerard on a scale of one to ten, she gave him an eleven. Sounds like a pretty memorable experience, would you think?

Apparently it wasn’t so memorable to Gerard when TMZ’s camera crew caught up with him. When they asked him about the steamy week-long romance, he plainly asks them, “Who’s Brandi Glanville?”

If you’re asking yourself the same question, then there is always Wikipedia. We just know that somewhere in the world LeAnn Rimes is cackling.

Access Hollywood reports that Brandi is sticking by her hookup claims:

Access Hollywood caught up with the Bravo star on Thursday night in Los Angeles, where she dished on Gerard’s reaction to her confession on Monday’s “Watch What Happens Live.”

“He’s not super excited. He’s super private. I’m not going to talk about it anymore,” Brandi told Access.

Gerard Butler was left embarrassed when he showed off his goodies during his sister’s wedding!

He showed up to the event wearing the traditional Scottish kilt, but was left blushing after learning that he was flashing everybody! Ha!

He performed a reading at the ceremony, but diverted all of the attention away from his sister, inadvertently. In a new interview with Graham Norton, he revealed, “I wore a kilt in my sister’s wedding in Paisley, Scotland and I had to go up and do a reading and my mother and family were in the front row.”

He went on to say, “As you know in Scotland there’s a certain rule to wear a kilt so I’m sitting like this [legs open] and everyone’s leaning forward and my mum’s looking at me and she’s doing this [puts hands together] and I think she’s telling me to pray….and then I realize everyone is staring right [at my crotch]. So I [cross my legs]… It’s always a disaster.”

Glad he at least has a sense of humor about it. But — this is one of those things where we have to say PICS OR IT DIDN’T HAPPEN!

Gerard Butler is surely a ladies’ man if I ever saw one. So when the actor boarded a flight to Los Angeles and saw a girl that caught his eye, he just had to try and pick her up!

He first spotted the girl at London’s Heathrow Airport and during his flight to LAX, he tried chatting her up. A source said, “Most of the lads at Terminal 5 never even noticed Gerard to start with because the woman was a jaw-dropping stunner. She was turning heads. A tall, early twenties, model-looking brunette. Gerard was swept through the queue with officials for the airline and boarded the plane.”

The spy went on to reveal, “He spotted her and nearly fell over. It was a classic double-take. He should have had a yellow card for the look he gave her. When we boarded she was a few rows in front of us in 42B. You could see him peering back from first class.”

The source said, “Then fifteen minutes later one of the airline;s ground staff came along, handed her a piece of paper and gave her a wink. It was priceless. All the lads on the flight laughed and she blushed and started giggling. We didn’t see what happened when we got off at the other end.”

Gerard Butler has revealed that he struggles with crippling anxiety attacks. The actor has said that he is addicted to the feeling, however, and even enjoys making it worse for himself.

He said, “I was born into a world of anxiety. I am slightly addicted to anxiety. When I’m feeling anxious, I’ll create more anxiety for myself. Like I might call all these people about what’s fun to do tonight and end up with four different options, which in itself would put me into a blind panic; but then I’ll make another four calls just to make it ten times more anxiety-ridden.”

I didn’t think that Jessica Simpson had the cojones to actually nail down Gerard Butler to one woman, and it turns out, I was right.
