Kim Kardashian can take a joke AND she has a sense of humor — so she says. I guess she will go along with anything that continues to put her name in the spotlight. As long as the media is talking about “me, me, me” is quite possibly her line of thought.

Ricky Gervais brought a milder form of funny to the 2012 Golden Globes, but when he went after Kim, he seriously became our new hero. All hail Ricky!

He joked that he had “sat through longer James Cameron speeches” than Kim’s hyped up 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries. Then, he proceeded to call her “trashy” as he compared her to Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

He said, “The Golden Globes are to the Oscars what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton. A bit trashier, a bit drunker and more easily bought.”

This is exactly why I would always cringe when I saw that Kim was being referred to as “America’s Royalty” during her wedding planning. She is not America’s royalty by any stretch of the imagination. Only if American royalty likes to get peed on in a sex tape. She could go for the title of America’s Fire Hydrant — which would be more fitting.

Still, her friends say that Kim has a sense of humor about the whole thing and “thought it was funny.”

Sorry ladies (and some gents), but your Sexiest Man Alive runner-up Ryan Gosling won’t be making it to the Golden Globes tonight.

And what could possibly keep him from showing off his dapper self at the awards show? Filming commitments, of course.

Ryan is up for Best Actor for The Ides Of March, along with Crazy, Stupid, Love, at the ceremony which takes place in Los Angeles later on tonight. Unfortunately for those who were looking forward to him donning a suit and accepting an award, he’s out of town, filming.

His representative said, “He’s working out of the country.”

Currently, he is in the middle of filming Only God Forgives, which is set in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ricky Gervais went crazy with his Golden Globes monologue, verbally attacking every celebrity in the room. As far as Scientologists go, he really laid it on thick. When speaking about films that didn’t make the cut, he talked about I Love You, Phillip Morris, which he referred to as “two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay.”

Then, he added, “Sort of the complete opposite of some famous Scientologists then.” After a pause and the reaction from the audience, he added, “My lawyers helped me with the wording of that joke.”

TMZ reports that John Travolta didn’t take too kindly to Ricky or his jokes:

John Travolta — who was the implied butt of a controversial joke from Ricky Gervais during the Golden Globes — seemed to acknowledge the situation last night when he told our photog the event was “more like a roast” than an awards show.

John was all smiles leaving an event at the Hollywood Palladium last night as dozens of fans asked for autographs and congratulated him on his new baby. But he was stone cold silent when we asked him if he had any words for Gervais.

Sometimes saying nothing truly says it all.

If Hollywood matchmaker Patti Stanger has anything to do with it, Alec Baldwin and Denise Richards will start dating!

I guess they don’t call her the Millionaire Matchmaker for nothing, do they?

Patti has suggested that Alec and Denise would be perfect for each other during a recent interview with Access Hollywood. The entertainment show then tracked Alec down at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night and asked his opinion of a possible match with Denise.

He said, “I think Denise Richards is absolutely adorable and she’s certainly a gorgeous woman, and I had a psychic once tell me I was going to marry a woman whose name started with the letter ‘R’.”

While attending his first Golden Globes, it appears that Taylor Lautner has forgotten the basic necessities in life, for one, feeding yourself!

According to Hollywood Life:

Twilight’s teen werewolf didn’t even have to FEED himself at the Weinstein Company’s post-Golden Globe party Jan. 17, sponsored by Martini & Rossi, where we spied the muscled boy-man getting finger (and spoon) fed by a pretty dark-haired brunette. And no, before you ask, it was NOT his ex-girlfriend Sara Hicks.

Nice. We want that kind of treatment!
