Video: Taylor Swift drops her Grammy Award
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
And now with video!
At last night’s Grammy Awards, while in the press room, Taylor Swift proved that she didn’t deserve that last Grammy that she racked up for the night.
She dropped it! One of the Grammy people said for her not to worry because they have more of them.

Video: Russell Brand meets The Situation
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
Russell Brand was hanging out on the red carpet before the Grammys started last night, when he was approached by an Access Hollywood correspondent and “Jersey Shore” star, The Situation.
The trio talked about Russell’s chest hair, and GTO, which is code for “gel, tanning and outfit”. Afterward, Russell grabs his microphone and does nasty things with it.

Pink feared falling at the Grammys
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
Pink thought she was going to hit the floor while performing “Glitter In The Air” at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.
She wore a sparkly nude bodysuit and was elevated into the air for the performance. After her routine, she said, “When I do it on tour, I don’t have lights above me. There were lights above me, so it almost went into a strobe thing, and I actually did get a little turned around. I thought I was going to fall on my nude butt. But I worked it out.”
Thank God for that, that would’ve been a catastrophe.
Miley Cyrus to sell Grammys dress for Haiti relief
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
Now here’s a chipmunk wanting to do some good for the people who were affected by the disaster in Haiti. Apparently, Miley Cyrus is selling off her Grammys dress for Haiti relief.
She said, “I’m going to auction it off on eBay for the Red Cross. It’s the little things you can do. I think it’s really important that everybody come together because disaster relief isn’t just now. It’s how we’re going to help years from now. We have to restore an entire place. It just can’t be one person, one foundation, one group of people. All people have to come together.”
Kudos to her. Good chipmunk!
Video: Censored Lil Wayne, Drake & Eminem rap ‘Forever’
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
Let me start off by saying this: I hate censorship in any form, so these blank silences throughout Lil Wayne, Drake and Eminem’s performance of “Forever” just baffled me to no end. I like my gangster rap with swear words, thank you very much.
The censorship people at CBS left huge chunks of the song out to dead silence for at least two-thirds of the show. If you’re going to censor most of the performance in huge pieces, then why let them on stage in the first place? It’s not like you had no idea what they were going to rap up there.
According to NY Mag, we have all of the lyrics that were bleeped out. After the jump for the times and lyrics of the blanked out lyrics, along with the video: (continue reading…)
Video: Stephen Colbert disses Susan Boyle at the Grammys
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
At last night’s Grammy Awards, Stephen Colbert opened the show by razzing just about everybody in attendance, and even one who wasn’t there, Susan Boyle.
He started off by saying, “We are here tonight to celebrate what I believe is our most precious right, the right of celebrities to congratulate each other.”
Then, after trying to be “cool” for his daughter, he hit out at Susan Boyle. He said, “Congratulations to all of you, but what I want to know is — Why isn’t Susan Boyle here? I mean, she accomplished something huge this year. You all may have brought the sexy back, but she sent it away again! No thanks Sexy, we’re just going with good singing this year.”
He added, “Seriously, you may be cool here but this year your industry was saved by a 48 year old Scottish cat lady in sensible shoes. So, give it up for Susan Boyle! congratulations, Susan!”

Photo: Fergie’s futuristic Grammys outfit
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
I don’t know if I’m feeling the outfit/getup/whatever that Fergie wore during her Black Eyed Peas performance at tonight’s Grammy Awards.
Whatever it is, it looks like it could be in the next Tron movie. Neon would make this picture much cooler.
What did you think?
Photo: Taylor Swift drops one of her Grammy Awards
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
Taylor Swift won four Grammy Awards at tonight’s celebration, but when she made it to the press room for photos, she just couldn’t seem to keep her hands on all of them.
You know, if you can’t hold onto them, I’m sure someone else is more deserving (ahem, Lady Gaga). Just sayin’.
T. Swift fans, please form a line to the left when you start hatin’. Kthnxbye.
Video: Lady Gaga & Elton John duet at the 2010 Grammys
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
Lady Gaga and Elton John opened up tonight’s Grammys with a combination of “Speechless” and “Your Song”. During their performance, they switched verses, while wearing ash on their faces and clothes.
I wish she would have performed in the outfit that she wore on the red carpet. You can check out their performance, after the jump! (continue reading…)
Video: Pink hangs wet at the Grammys, singing ‘Glitter In The Air’
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
Pink gave us a really awesome performance of her song, “Glitter In The Air” at tonight’s Grammys. She walked out in a white dress with a plunging neckline. She ended up taking that off, to reveal a skin-tight bodysuit.
She was elevated into the air by what appeared to be a sheet and dipped into some water and still held on, singing her heart out.
Loved it! You go girl!

Video: Beyonce sings Alanis Morissette’s ‘You Oughtta Know’
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
Beyonce took home six Grammys tonight and performed her song “If I Were A Boy”, along with a cover of Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughtta Know”.
“If I Were A Boy” was pretty good, but she murdered “You Oughtta Know”. No one should ever be allowed to cover that song unless they know for sure that they can rock it.

Lady Gaga & Beyonce playing ‘Telephone’ at the Grammys?
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.27, 2010, under articles
For her Grammys performance, Lady Gaga is rumored to be singing her song “Telephone” with none other than Beyonce!
It’s only a rumor at this point, but we’ll take that any way we can get it. I absolutely love this song. I have to wonder what kind of craziness Gaga will do this time. She should totally dress as the Statue Of Liberty wearing a bagel on her head with shoes made from Pepsi bottles. Then I’d definitely watch. Wouldn’t you?
No matter, whatever she does will be equally as crazy. Are you excited?!???
The Grammys air on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 8PM EST.

Mariah Carey snubs the Grammys?
by Roberta Ferguson on Aug.19, 2009, under articles
R&B songstress Mariah Carey has taken herself out of consideration for the 2010 Grammy Awards.
Carey won’t be accepting a Grammy at the ceremony in 2010 because she has taken herself out of the running for nominations. She’s releasing her newest album, “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” on September 29, 2009, missing this year’s cutoff by one day.
A source says, “Mariah’s been shafted so many times before that it’s like a big ‘Kiss my butt’ to the Grammy folks. She doesn’t need the awards, because her career is already so successful.”

Chris Brown Arrested For Beating Girlfriend Rihanna?
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.09, 2009, under articles

Chris Brown has been booked for allegedly beating his girlfriend, pop singer, Rihanna tonight. The couple were attending Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party when they got into a fight. Rihanna was reportedly upset that Chris was checking out other girls at the party.
Sources have reported that Rihanna had been bruised in the scuffle, but some reported it as a car accident. Rihanna checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but has since been released, according to a guard at the hospital.
He was being held on a $50,000 bond, but has been subsequently released. We’ve found that she may be in the process of pressing charges against him.
This is the reasoning behind them not going on with their Grammys performance, as scheduled.

Album Of The Year Grammy: Robert Plant & Allison Krauss
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.08, 2009, under articles
Zooey Deschanel took the stage to introduce Robert Plant and Allison Krause.
They sang two songs, and then Green Day took the stage to announce the winner of the Album Of The Year Grammy.
The final Grammy of the night went to Robert Plant and Allison Krauss for their album, “Raising Sand”.
Congrats!
And did they really start playing the “It’s time to wrap it up” music over Robert’s acceptance speech?!? Wha?
Stevie Wonder played out the show with his performance of “All About The Love Again”. They cut him off, too! What the &!@!@? is going on here?!?!??

Best Rap Album Grammy: Lil Wayne
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.08, 2009, under articles
Gary Sinise took the stage to introduce Lil’ Wayne, who performed along with Robin Thicke. Robin was classy, while Wayne was looking every bit of the hoodrat.
Allen Tuson took the stage right after to play the piano for the crow along with the “Dirty Dozen”. Their dancers won’t win “America’s Best Dance Crew” anytime soon, either. They sang, “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” in tribute to the Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans.
Will.I.Am and T-Pain took the stage to announce the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
The winner: Lil’ Wayne – The Carter III. He beat out Jay-Z with that nonsense. Really???
The “Rap Pack” Performs “Swagger Like Us”
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.08, 2009, under articles
Queen Latifah came to the stage in a nice dark blue dress. She announced Dean Martin as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Grammy.
She also introduced M.I.A., who looks like she’s about to pop. Her due date is today, so I’ll bet she’s ready any day now. Along with her, Kanye West, T.I., Jay-Z, and Lil’ Wayne, they all performed “Swagger Like Us“.
M.I.A. looked cute with her belly and her hat. Can’t say much for what she was wearing, though.
After the “Rap Pack” performed, Kate Beckinsale got on the stage to introduce Paul McCartney along with Dave Grohl (of the Foo Fighters). Paul sang, “I Saw Her Standing There” and it was good. It’s good to see Macca is still going strong.
Record Of The Year Grammy: Robert Plant & Allison Krauss
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.08, 2009, under articles
Morgan Freeman took the Grammy stage to introduce Kenny Chesney, who performed some country song. Not sure which one, this was the moment I paused to write this and fast-forwarded through the song. Not a fan of country, but if you’re a regular reader, you already knew that.
Side note: Was Morgan wearing blue contact lenses?
Diddy, Herbie Hancock, and Natalie Cole took the stage to announce the winner of the Record Of The Year Grammy. Oh my lord of the sun gods, what on earth is Natalie wearing?!??
The winner: Robert Plant & Allison Krauss, with their album, “Please Read The Letter”.
Best New Artist Grammy: Adele
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.08, 2009, under articles
Craig Ferguson took the stage in a nice all black suit to be funny for the first time at tonight’s Grammys. He’s hilarious. We needed that little bit of humor injected into the show. He must have better writers than Justin Timberlake and The Rock.
He announced Katy Perry as the next performer of the evening. She sang, “I Kissed A Girl” and it sounded horrible. She sounds crappy “live”. I’m so over her already. Note to Perez: Stop trying to make Katy Perry happen, it’s not going to work.
After that “show”, Kanye West performed “American Boy” without his signature sunglasses, along with Estelle. Both looked equally shiny and sounded okay vocoder-less.
The duo announced the Grammy winner for Best New Artist. The award went to Adele, who beat out Duffy and the Jonas Brothers for the award. I was sure one of the two would’ve walked away with this one. But alas, fangirls don’t get to vote, thus true talent shines through.
