Haley Reinhart Discusses Replacing Lauren Alaina On ‘American Idol’ (Video)
by Roberta Ferguson on May.26, 2011, under articles

Minutes before the performance finale of American Idol aired, the news had hit the internet that finalist Lauren Alaina may not have been able to perform on the show.
The news stated that she may have had to drop out of the show due to some vocal cord damage that she suffered. After not getting through rehearsals, they called in a doctor who told Lauren to rest her voice. Idol officials called up third place contestant, Haley Reinhart, to take her place if needed.
Now, Haley is speaking out on the topic. WATCH:
Haley said, “I had somebody come up to me, to tell me what her condition was. They didn’t know if she could sing or not. They asked me to do it and said to pick out some tunes I already did. It was an honor that they asked me; they never did this for somebody else on the show.”
She continued, “But at the same time, I did not feel right about the whole thing.”
When asked if she had gotten the chance to talk to Lauren prior to the show, she said, “No, but I saw her later. She was like, ‘You were almost about to sing for me there’, and I said, ‘I’m glad the medicine and everything else helped you out and you got through it!’”
All in all, Haley said that she was happy with how things turned out. She added, “I left in a good light. I had a great time going out. I still feel like the future holds something great out there for me. I felt like it was really Scotty and Lauren’s time so no matter what, she should go out and do what she can do.”
Lauren Alaina May Drop Out Of ‘American Idol’ Finale
by Roberta Ferguson on May.24, 2011, under articles

We’ve just learned that American Idol finalist Lauren Alaina may have to drop out of tonight’s show!
It all went down during rehearsals earlier today when she tried to perform her set of three songs. We’ve learned that she performed the first without issue, yet she struggled through the second and was unable to sing the third.
The producers of the show have located Haley Reinhart as a stand-in for Lauren, in case she’s unable to perform. The doctor on the set of the show has ordered Lauren not to talk or sing, so there is still hope that she’s able to sing for tonight’s finale performances.
Haley is waiting in the wings, in full makeup, hoping for a chance to square off against Idol hopeful Scotty McCreery for title of your next American Idol!
If Haley does perform, she’ll be singing House Of The Rising Sun, I Who Have Nothing and Bennie And The Jets. Are you surprised that they’d try to bring her back? Are you happy that she still has a chance to win it all? Sound off in the comments!

Beyonce is premiering her new video, Run The World (Girls) video on the show tonight and she is also mentoring the contestants during tonight’s show.
Round One
Scotty is singing his favorite song first, which is Lonestar’s Amazed. Beyonce called him a “cutie pie” and said, “That’s m,y boy!” He is doing a great job and we’re sure someone is going to tell him that he’s “in it to win it”. Randy? J-Lo? He is definitely going to be the one to beat this season.
Steven said that Scotty got angry and kicked the song into next week and took the song up a notch. Jennifer said he has grown since the beginning of the season. She said it was a great way to start the show. Randy said it was a great song choice and it’s an amazing song. James Durbin’s Shocking ‘American Idol’ Elimination (Video)
by Roberta Ferguson on May.13, 2011, under articles

Tears ran down the face of James Durbin as he made his American Idol exit performance of Paul McCartney’s song, Maybe I’m Amazed. Ryan Seacrest announced that Lauren Alania was safe first last night, leaving all of the viewers thinking that Haley Reinhart to be eliminated.
We were under the impression that James would be safe, considering that he has a whole lot of talent. Most of our audience polled came to the conclusion that Haley should’ve left last night due to her attitude. So when she was announced as the second person safe, all bets were off.
Then, as the night progressed, we had to ponder who exactly could be sent home out of the guys. Both James and Scotty McCreery gave pretty excellent performances last night, so we had to think that the rumors of “no one” being eliminated were true.
We covered the show live last night, check out our FULL RECAP here.
Check out the elimination video, below:
When it was announced that Scotty McCreery was going to be part of the top three in the singing competition, a collective shock swept across the nation. He performed well and cried during his final song.

Will Haley Reinhart Get Voted Off Of ‘American Idol’?
by Lydia Harris on May.12, 2011, under articles

If you’ve missed last night’s Idol recap, check it out here!
Last night, twenty-year-old singer Haley Reinhart failed to impress the American Idol judges with her version of Michael Jackson’s Earth Song. Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson weren’t feeling the song at all and commented that at times, she was screaming. Randy said that she didn’t have the chops to sing a song by the King Of Pop. Steven was impressed, but we think that he was more impressed with her choice of attire.
I can’t say that I was all that impressed with her MJ cover. She really was screaming, but it seemed like the judges were being overly critical of her. They pushed and pushed and in the second round, for their Leiber & Stoller song choices, she came back with I (Who Have Nothing) by Ben E. King.
The song got more positive feedback from the judges, along with the audience. Jennifer said that they can’t take it easy on Haley due to what she is capable of. Randy commented that she had her moment and that she’s “in it to win it”. Steven is sure that Haley will be part of the top three, but we’re not so sure.
Behind the scenes, Haley was still upset over the first round critique from the judging panel. She said, “Yeah I’m mad. Everybody else gets good feedback and they really let me have it. They don’t feel bad for me. Never have, never will. I got a little upset because that song is downright inspiring and emotional. No matter what, that hit me to the heart.”
Haley isn’t backing down either. She said, “I’m not gonna crack. As much as they might want me to or try to, I’m not going to. And I think they know that I can be very strong and willed and everything else, and that’s why they give it to me. I take that in stride, I realize it and accept it.”
Will Haley get voted off the show in tonight’s elimination???
