It was rumored recently that Halle Berry had gotten engaged to boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, after he popped the question with a stunning emerald and diamond ring from Gurhan. Now, we’ve heard that they are actually not engaged, so our congratulations were premature.

A spokesperson for the jewelry company had originally confirmed that they had supplied the “engagement ring”. After the reports came out, a source close to Halle revealed that she is not engaged, even after she was seen wearing the new ring.

A rep for Gurhan said, “Although Halle is a great fan of Gurhan we cannot confirm that she is wearing a Gurhan design.”

It is still unclear why they referred to the ring in reports as an engagement ring, but we can guess. Just like Kim Kardashian, they just wanted some media attention perhaps?

Let’s just hope that third time is a charm for the actress!

A source confirmed the reports of the happy couple’s engagement, saying that Olivier proposed over the holidays with an emerald and diamond ring from Gurhan.

Halle has walked down the aisle twice previously. In 1993, she married baseball player David Justice. They ended up divorcing four years later. She had claimed at the time that she was so depressed following her split with him that she had considered suicide.

Afterward, she married R&B singer Eric Benet in 2001 and she adopted his daughter, India. In 2003, they separated and divorced in 2005.

She and Olivier met on the set of Dark Tide and became an item shortly thereafter. She has a daughter, Nahla, with former boyfriend and model, Gabriel Aubry.

A source said that Halle “had given up on being married, but she trusts Olivier. He makes her feel safe. He’s a keeper!”

Congratulations to them on their engagement! Now come to Cleveland so you can celebrate properly in your hometown. We’ll be there for the pictures!

In a new interview, actress Halle Berry opens up about her custody battle with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.

Reportedly, she rejected a film and a play in New York due to the custody fight, and even said bashed Gabriel for his “lack of cooperation”. Now, she wants everyone to know that it’s not as bad as it sounds.

She said, “Our issues were never about fighting for her. We both know a child needs both her parents. But what I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse.”

She went on to reveal, “We need a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues. I’m so happy we’ve arrived at that place, because, for her sake, this is the best way. We both love her more than life.”

It’s good to see them finally working things out like adults!
