Owen Wilson is opening up for the first time about getting attached to his new baby boy!

The actor has sprung on us the news of his pregnant girlfriend Jade Duell just recently, who just gave birth to the couple’s son, Robert. Now, he’s talking about his attachment to his newborn son and says that becoming a father changed his view on the world.

He said, “I was never like somebody who was like, ‘Oh gosh, it’s a little baby! Let me hold it. They’re so fragile, but when it is your own, all of a sudden you feel a lot more confident. You really do have this bond, this real connection with this thing that a month ago wasn’t even here….It is strange…Their cries are like beautiful music!”

Yep, beautiful music until they wake you up every three hours in the wee hours of the morning to be fed!

When asked if the baby looks like either parent, he said, “I don’t know if you can say. Babies look a lot more like other babies than they ever do like their parents. That’s what I’ve begun to notice!”

Owen seems like he would be a fun dad, doesn’t he? I hope he immerses himself in full-time daddy duty. It’ll be cute!

We’re hearing reports that Owen Wilson wants to marry his girlfriend and baby’s mother, Jade Duell!

A source said, “Jade’s family likes Owen a lot and they don’t want to cause any tension, but they want him to marry her for the baby’s sake. They’re very traditional. They expect Owen and Jade to get married in a formal religious ceremony — the sooner the better!”

Since getting together with Jade, Owen has found a new lease on life. A spy close to Owen said, “He’s gotten a new lease on life because of Jade. He’s come all the way back from the depths of despair to being happier than he ever dreamed possible.”

How sweet! I wonder when the big day is going to be!

Us Magazine reports:

The first-time dad — whose past loves include Kate Hudson and Sheryl Crow — “has been doing research and learning as much as he can,” a source adds. “He’s super into it and asks a lot of questions to make sure he knows what’s going on every step of the way.”

Though Wilson has yet to pop the question, he did offer Us some insight about how he realized Duell may be The One.

“When you stop talking about yourself and you’re more open to listening to what they’re interested in and what they want to talk, that’s how you know,” he told Us at December’s How Do You Know premiere in Westwood, Calif. “Maybe you’re more open to even renting a movie like Steel Magnolias. Before you know it, you’re getting late fees for Sleepless in Seattle and you’re giving up the remote control! Although by that definition, not many men have been in love!”
