POLL: Dirty Dancing Remake: Yay Or Nay? VOTE!
by Roberta Ferguson on Aug.09, 2011, under articles

This a bit of a rant, so be warned. I’ll start this off by asking, how many times have you seen the movie Dirty Dancing? More than twice? Congratulations, you’re normal.
As fans of the movie, we know that there’s really no one out there that can play the role of dance instructor Johnny Castle like Patrick Swayze did. There’s no other “Baby” like Jennifer Grey, either. Even though she wasn’t “baby” anymore after her nose job…but still.
Lionsgate has announced plans to do a remake of the 1987 cult classic, with Kenny Ortega at the helm. Us Magazine reports:
“The opportunity to direct Dirty Dancing is like returning home for me,” director Ortega (who helmed the High School Musical films and Michael Jackson’s This Is It) said. “Growing up in the ’60s on the dance floor helped define me as a person and as an artist.”
Finding stars to fill the shoes of Grey and Swayze will be tough, he admitted. “Patrick Swayze set the bar for men dancing in the movies as Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire did before him.”

Dancing With The Stars 2010 season 11 winner: Jennifer Grey
by Roberta Ferguson on Nov.23, 2010, under articles

Last night, on Dancing With The Stars, Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough were at the top of the leaderboard with 60 points. Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer were in second place with 56, leaving Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas bringing up the rear with 52 points.
There are two more dances scheduled for tonight, but all of the viewer votes are in. I tried voting last night, but got an error from ABC’s website, several times. Christina Aguilera performed a song from Burlesque and people were left wondering if she’s pregnant again.

Who was eliminated on Dancing With The Stars 11/9/2010?
by Roberta Ferguson on Nov.09, 2010, under articles

After last night’s performances on Dancing With The Stars, we’re curious as to whether or not Bristol Palin will finally go home. She was truly awful last night and doesn’t deserve to go to the semi-finals.
Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer performed their Viennese Waltz at the judge’s request.
Safe:
Kyle and Lacey
Bristol and Mark
Jeopardy:
Kurt and Anna
Brandy and Maksim
So who got eliminated tonight??? KURT WARNER & ANNA TREBUNSKAYA!
It’s FIXED! Bristol should’ve been sent home!
Audrina Patridge eliminated from Dancing With The Stars
by Jessica LeFevre on Oct.27, 2010, under articles

In a stunning upset last night, The Hills star Audrina Patridge was eliminated from Dancing With The Stars.
It was widely believed that Kurt Warner would be eliminated from the dancing competition because he scored the lowest possible scores on Monday’s show. In the end, it was between two really good dancers, Audrina and Jennifer Grey.
What do you think of the results? Are you surprised that she was axed?
Update: Audrina’s mother, Lynn, got smashed while at Beso in L.A. last night and told everyone how she really feels about Lauren Conrad, Dancing With The Stars and The Hills! Check out the video HERE.
Jennifer Grey used Patrick Swayze’s memory on DWTS
by Lydia Harris on Sep.21, 2010, under articles

If you were watching Dancing With The Stars‘ season premiere when Jennifer Grey came on and started yelling “Nobody puts Baby in a corner!” at your television, then congratulations, you’re probably not alone there. (Or really was it only me?)
Shame on the producers of the show for allowing her to use the song, These Arms Of Mine by Otis Redding, from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. That was just begging for someone to bring up the ghost of Patrick Swayze.
Wouldn’t be reasonable to suggest that this was an unfair advantage to the competition?
Did you tear up? Own up wimps!!!
