Former Penn State coach Joe Paterno has passed away at the age of 85-years-old.

According to TMZ, his family released this statement:

He died as he lived. He fought hard until the end, stayed positive, thought only of others and constantly reminded everyone of how blessed his life had been. His ambitions were far reaching, but he never believed he had to leave this Happy Valley to achieve them. He was a man devoted to his family, his university, his players and his community.”

Joe was the head coach at Penn State for 46 years, but was fired last November following the reports of sexual abuse at the hands of his former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky.

Afterward, his son Scott announced that he was battling lung cancer. Today, he succumbed to the cancer, leaving behind a legacy that touched so many – mostly young boys.

RIP JoePa wherever you are.

Jerry Sandusky has been accused of numerous accounts of molesting little boys during his employment with Penn State. Now, he’s reportedly looking to clear the air in a new interview — and he and his wife Dottie are thinking about sitting down with Oprah Winfrey.

Sandusky’s attorney, Joe Amendola, said Dottie Sandusky doesn’t have an attorney and sees no need for one. The couple is considering speaking together publicly after the new year, Amendola said — either to Oprah Winfrey, to the CBS show “60 Minutes,” to NBC’s “Rock Center” or to ABC’s Barbara Walters.

We’re not sure if there are any offers floating around from Barbara or Oprah’s camps, or if it’s his attorney just trying to get him out in the spotlight. Dottie obviously believes that her husband is innocent, but with all of the evidence building up against him, we’re not thinking that he’s going to get off Scott-free here.

The whole story involving Jerry Sandusky and the Penn State abuse scandal just keeps getting more and more sickening. As a parent of a young boy, I can’t say that I can bite my tongue over what’s going on here.

Mike McQueary claimed that he saw a naked Jerry Sandusky in the shower, raping a ten-year-old boy. He reported the incident to Joe Paterno, who then reported it to the head of the Campus Police. What he should have done in that moment was STOP the incident from going any further while he was in it. He should’ve done that and then called 911 to haul Jerry’s sorry butt out of that school shower.

Now, he claims that he isn’t 100% sure that Jerry was actually raping the boy. WTF??!? REALLY?!?

Was he really just teaching them how to shower, Mike? Disgusting pigs, all of them.

Earlier today, Mike took the stand in the preliminary hearing and said that he became suspicious when he heard “skin on skin slapping” sounds coming from the shower. He said that he looked into the shower and saw Jerry and the boy naked together with Jerry grabbing the boy’s waist from behind while he was facing the wall.

He said that the last time he peaked in, they had separated. He said, “I know they saw me. They looked directly in my eye, both of them. Seeing that they were separated, I thought it was best that I leave the locker room.”

Leaving a defenseless boy alone with a freaking monster. Wow. What a disgusting creep. I can’t even imagine that boy’s horror to find someone who could help him out of that situation, only to find that he was a complete and total coward.

Mike McQueary claims in an email that he notified authorities once he witnessed a ten-year-old boy being raped in the showers by Jerry Sandusky.

He also claims that he didn’t just stand there and do nothing — and even though he didn’t stop the abuse physically, he did stop it.

“You are the first person I have told this … and I don’t know you extremely well … and I have been told bye officials to not say anything ….”

“I did stop it, not physically … but made sure it was stopped when I left that locker room … I did have discussions with the official at the university in charge of police … no one can imagine my thoughts or wants to be in my shoes for those 30-45 seconds…trust me.”

“Do with this what you want … but I am getting hammered for handling this the right way … or what I thought at the time was right … I had to make tough impacting quick decisions.”

“This is off record … again … I have not and will not say anything to anyone else.”
