Tonight on NBC it is the premiere of their reality competition FASHION STAR, the show that features mentors Nicole Richie, John Varvatos and a pregnant Jessica Simpson. The celebrity mentors assess hopeful designers who want to be the next Fashion Star.

The judge for this season are from: Express is Erika De Salvatore, from Macys is Caprice Willard and Terron E. Schaefer from Saks Fifth Avenue. This season the host will be television presenter and Glamour Magazine’s fashion editor-at-large Louise Roe.

Each week 12 eager young designers the chance to win a multi-million dollar prize of launching their original collections in three of the nation’s largest fashion retailers. Each week, the contestants are given a challenge to design clothing with a certain look, feel and function. Working with their designated team, the mentors offer insight and advice to contestants as they design their creations, shop for materials and oversee the production of their garments.

The culmination of their efforts comes with an exhilarating fashion show during which they display their work to the three buyers. In the end, one designer will successfully combine fashion and business to become the next “Fashion Star” and will receive the prize of a lifetime – $3,000,000 in orders for capsule collections in Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Express stores.

The hopeful designers competing this season are: David Appel, Silvia Arguello, Priscilla Barrosso, Hunter Bell, Garrett Gerson & JesseRay Vasquez, Johana Hernandez, Cassandra Hobbins, Tori Nichel, Amber Perley, Brandon Scott, Daniel Silverstein and Bret Young.

On tonight’s show twelve designers will being the competion for the chance to win a multi-million dollar prize – and launch collections at Express, Macy’s and Saks!

Rumors have been swirling since January that fashion mogul Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson are expecting a son this pregnancy, so of course the rumors are starting to fly about what the duo are planning to name their second offspring.

Jessica gave birth to their first child, Maxwell Drew Johnson last May and with their second child on the way, we have to admit, we were curious, too. According to the latest gossip going around, the duo are planning to name their son Ace. Ace Johnson. Interesting.

A source revealed, “She’s told people she’s going to name the baby Ace!”

We have yet to hear how she and Eric have come up with that name, but we’re guessing that it’s an interesting story. They named their daughter after Eric and Jessica’s mother. Maxwell is Eric’s middle name and Drew is Jessica’s mother Tina’s maiden name. Previously, Jessica said of her daughter’s name, “It’s nothing shocking and nothing you’ll have to add to the dictionary. Still, when people hear it they’ll know why.”

What do you think of the name Ace? It does sound more like a nickname than someone’s first name, but we’re sure there is a captivating story behind the moniker. Or not…this is Jessica Simpson we’re talking about here….We’re pretty sure that her name is not synonymous with “captivating”…

Jessica Simpson might be the proud mother of a girl AND a boy if the latest gossip is to be believed. Rumor has it that the “Fashion Star” mentor is expecting a baby boy for her second pregnancy by fiance Eric Johnson.

Jessica gave birth to her first child, Maxwell Drew Johnson in May 2012 but after slimming down using Weight Watchers, she has revealed that she is pregnant again. She announced the news on her official Twitter page, using a photo of baby Maxwell on a beach in Hawaii announcing that she is going to be a “big sis”.

The happy couple were said to be delighted that Maxwell is going to be a big sister — and even moreso that they are going to have a baby boy. Even better, they have been keeping busy trying to think of some baby names.

A source said, “It’s Jessica’s dream come true, she prayed she was having a boy. What with everything going on in her personal life, and her problems with her father, this has given her something to smile about.”

The snitch went on to say, “She found out this week after a check-up at the doctor, who asked her if she wanted to know the sex of the baby. Jessica immediately said yes and when the doctor told her it was a boy she screamed with joy.”

According to the latest gossip, “Fashion Star” mentor Jessica Simpson is still estranged from her father Joe. That is, even though he is still executive producing her new television show. Who knew?!?

When Jessica returns to mentor the contestants on the upcoming autobiographical TV show, her father won’t be on the set. A source said, “Don’t be fooled that because Joe is executive producer for Jessica’s new show she has forgiven him for cheating on Tina. In fact, they still don’t talk and Jessica doesn’t want anything to do with her dad. He’s her manager, that’s all.”

The spy went on to say, “He won’t be on set when she is. Jessica will film scenes and Joe will have to review it later on a recording and discuss the show with other producers. Joe will have his say on how the show should work, but Jessica will make the final call. The only reason his name is on the credits for the show is simply because he’s still her manager. If Jessica had it her way, Joe wouldn’t be involved at all. However, she’s still under contract to be managed by him so there’s nothing else she can do.”

“Fashion Star” mentor Jessica Simpson appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” last night to discuss her second pregnancy with fiance Eric Johnson. She called her second pregnancy unexpected after having only given birth to her first child in May.

When speaking of her wedding, she said, “We’ve had two different wedding dates, but he keeps knocking me up. We’re doing it very backwards, I know. I’ll just keep my legs crossed, I guess, this time. Apparently it was part of God’s plan for my life.”

When she learned that she was pregnant again, she said, “I was extremely shocked. Because I was going through a lot of hormonal changes, trying to get back to the old, vibrant Jessica. You know, it was kind of like a one-night stand. And it happened, all over again!”

In speaking of her first pregnancy, she said, “I was really happy to be pregnant and I didn’t ever step on the scale. I didn’t realize you could gain that much weight that quickly.”
