Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley have adopted a second daughter, according to her rep, who confirmed the news today. Heigl and Kelley previously adopted their daughter Naleigh, who is now three-years-old. She has always said that adoption was the plan for them to grow their happy little family.

Heigl’s rep, Jill Fritzo said, “Yes they have adopted a baby. No further details at this time.”

In January, Heigl said, “Josh and I started talking about it before we were even engaged. We have talked about having biological children as well, but we decided to adopt first. I’d like to adopt again.”

Congratulations to them on their new addition to their family.

If you were holding out hope for Katherine Heigl to make her return to the show where she got her start, then you’re going to be sad about this little tidbit. In case your memory doesn’t serve, Katherine was in the running for an Emmy for her role on the show as Isobel Stevens. After the buzz reached a fever pitch, she removed herself from the running, blaming the writers for her lack of material.

At the time, she said, “I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention. In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.”

Since, it’s been rumored that she might be joining the show again, after she expressed an interest in seeing where her character has been in her life. Now, the show’s creator, Shonda Rimes, says the idea is a no-go.

When Ellen Pompeo was asked about a possible return for Katherine, she said, “No, I don’t think that’s happening.”

Now, Shonda is weighing in. She said, “We are on a track we have been planning, and the idea of changing that track is not something we are interested in right now.”

She added that it’s “really nice to hear [Katherine] appreciating the show.”
