Whitney Houston to perform on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ finale
by Roberta Ferguson on Nov.17, 2009, under articles
The stars are really coming out of the woodwork for the semi-finals and finals for reality dance show, “Dancing With The Stars”.
Joining the stars and their professional counterparts on tomorrow night’s finals announcement show are Alicia Keys and British songstress Leona Lewis.
Keys will be performing her song, “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” from her album, “The Element Of Freedom” (see the cover here). Lewis will also take the stage to perform her hit song, “Happy”, from her newly released album, “Echo”.
On the season finale of the show, on November 24th, Grammy award winning artist Whitney Houston will be performing. We haven’t received word yet as to her song choice, but we’ll hope that the performance will be better than last time on “X Factor”.
As far as I’m concerned, Whitney is the queen diva and cannot be dethroned. She’ll rock it.

Leona Lewis is boring
by Roberta Ferguson on Nov.13, 2009, under articles
Leona Lewis recently rattled off in a new interview about her relationship issues with boyfriend of five years, Lou Al-Chamaa.
She said, “Well, we’re currently happy and together. It’s difficult sometimes, I won’t deny that, but we make it work. I’ve been through it – not all relationships are perfect. I don’t see us getting married for a long time yet, you really need to be certain with someone before you get married and, besides, my parents only married about four or five years ago so I just don’t believe you have to get married to be happy together.”
Are you bored yet? Because here comes the good part where she actually admits that she doesn’t care if people think she’s boring.
She added, “I still mess around when I’m with friends. But I haven’t got a lot of time and we’ve got so much to do, so my focus is for everything to look good. It’s irrelevant to me if people say I’m boring. They don’t know me as a person or what I’m like when I’m hanging out with my friends.”

Leona Lewis gets slapped at book signing
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.14, 2009, under articles
Leona Lewis was at Waterstones book store in London earlier today, signing copies of her autobiography, “Dreams”, when she was assaulted by a man.
The man allegedly slapped the singer, and was subsequently arrested.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said, “The female did not require hospital treatment – we are at the scene.”
That’s just awful, I hope she gets some better security for any future outings. Shame on that guy for hitting a lady.

Leona Lewis Involved In Horse Riding Accident
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.30, 2009, under articles
It looks like Madonna isn’t the only one who’s having trouble with horse riding. Leona Lewis has been forced to delay recording her upcoming album due to being hit in the face by a horse.
She was riding the horse in L.A., when she got knocked to the ground and the incident caused her to split her lip.

A source says, “Something startled the horse and it flicked its head back and smacked Leona full in the face. She was knocked flying by the force of it. Everyone rushed over to see if she was okay, she was holding her face in agony. Thankfully she didn’t need any surgery, but she was told to stay at home and rest just in case she passed out with concussion. She doesn’t blame the horse though, it was just one of those things.”
The source adds, “She had been due in the studio to record, but she felt shaken up so they had to cancel. It has pushed everything back, but she’s such a grafter she’ll easily make up for lost time.”
Maybe it was the “paparazzi”???

Just Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon
by Roberta Ferguson on Sep.06, 2008, under articles
“Just Stand Up!” is a song featuring the vocals of an all-star group of pop/R&B/rock performers, including Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Natasha Bedingfield, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Carrie Underwood, Keyshia Cole, LeAnn Rimes, Ashanti and Ciara.
Miley Cyrus really should not be allowed on stage anymore. The girl can’t carry a tune at all. And in comparison to the others on the stage, she sounds like total garbage. She’s way out of her league up there with Beyonce, Rihanna, and Leona Lewis.
Stand Up to Cancer will benefit from the proceeds of the record.
See the auctions on eBay that FashionRocks has put together. All proceeds go to Stand Up To Cancer.

Amy Winehouse’ss album Back to Black is being hailed as the biggest selling album of 2007. Though her personal life has become nothing but a shambles, her professional footing as an artist that brings in the dough, is solid. Amy Winehouse’s $1.85 million in sales is very impressive, with Leona Lewis coming in second with $1.59 million.

4. Take That: Beautiful World
5. Westlife: Back Home
6. Eagles: Long Road Out of Eden
7. Kaiser Chiefs: Yours Truly Angry Mob

8. Proclaimers/Brian Potter/Andy Pipkin: (I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles

What’s odd is the fact that Amy Winehouse made the best selling album of 2007, but no songs from the album made it in the top ten for the singles list.
