Lil Wayne recorded nine videos for prison time
by roberta on Feb.10, 2010, under articles
Lil Wayne was expected to be sentenced on Tuesday for his 2007 gun possession charge, but has since been given a three week-long reprieve for dental work to be completed. Prior to going to court, the rapper made nine music videos so that his fans wouldn’t forget about him while he’s locked up.
Video director David Rousseau said, “We knew what our deadline was. We’re trying to get maximum coverage for Wayne. Most of the time we only shot Wayne’s verses, we’ll finish the rest of the videos off in the next couple of weeks. Everybody is on board because everybody knows what’s at stake. Unlike T.I. and some of these other guys that’s disappeared while they were in, the point is to keep Wayne on TV for whatever time he’s in. He’s at the height of his career; you can’t let that momentum slip.”
The rapper has also recruited several collaborators for his newest offerings.
Rousseau added. “We tried to keep it wide, medium, close-up, just him vibing. Then we let him go change clothes. Then other people would come in for thirty minutes. Wayne would come back out, same thing; wide, medium, close-up. Then we bring out somebody else who is on the song, Nicki Minaj, Sean Garrett, Baby, Tyga.”
Drake, Eminem and Lil Wayne’s uncensored Grammys video
by roberta on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
If you were like us last night, you were complaining loud and clear over Drake, Eminem and Lil Wayne’s Grammy Awards performance last night.
The trio took to the stage last night, along with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and performed “Drop The World” and “Forever”, but CBS opted to blank out large chunks of the performance, due to swearing.
Now, you can listen to the song the way it was supposed to be aired. After the jump for the goodies! (continue reading…)
Video: Censored Lil Wayne, Drake & Eminem rap ‘Forever’
by roberta on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
Let me start off by saying this: I hate censorship in any form, so these blank silences throughout Lil Wayne, Drake and Eminem’s performance of “Forever” just baffled me to no end. I like my gangster rap with swear words, thank you very much.
The censorship people at CBS left huge chunks of the song out to dead silence for at least two-thirds of the show. If you’re going to censor most of the performance in huge pieces, then why let them on stage in the first place? It’s not like you had no idea what they were going to rap up there.
According to NY Mag, we have all of the lyrics that were bleeped out. After the jump for the times and lyrics of the blanked out lyrics, along with the video: (continue reading…)

Man arrested for calling 911 seeking an escort to Lil Wayne’s house – audio

Lil’ Wayne definitely has some interesting fans. Apparently Michael Kruse called 911, not once, but twice, seeking a police escort to Lil’ Wayne’s Miami home. Nice. (continue reading…)
Lil Wayne Impersonator Wanted
by roberta on Jun.16, 2009, under articles
An ad on Washington, DC’s Craiglist is asking for a Lil Wayne impersonator for his son’s birthday party. The father in the ad is asking for his son, who’s blind and he doesn’t care if you look like the rapper, but you do have to sound like him.
Check it out:
My son is turning 16 and really wanted Lil Wayne to perform for his birthday gala. Unfortunately his schedule will not permit him to make it. I need a Lil Wayne impersonator desperately.
Here is the kicker my son is blind so you do not need to look like the rapper just sound like him. I understand he grunts and mumbles a lot. I don’t care if you are 67 and Jewish if you can sing the songs you’re hired. Money is not an issue. Name your price. Interested individuals please let me know your rap experience, video of you performing as Lil Wayne would be better. If that is not feasible we can arrange for a live audition.
Serious inquiries only, this is very important to my family. Young Money Baby!
What does a 67-year-old Jewish guy with a voice like Lil Wayne’s want with performing at a birthday party?

Lil’ Wayne is selling pot smoking cigars
by roberta on Jun.13, 2009, under articles
Rapper Lil Wayne is trying to be quite the connoisseur.
Apparently the rapper has given his endorsement to a brand new line of cigars, made specifically for smoking pot. He’s a fan of the drug and has never made any qualms about that.
Now, he’s gone as far as allowing the makers of Bogey Blunts to slap his image on the product packaging.
“Hip Hop Weekly” reports that the leaves used in the cigars can be easily unrolled for users to add their own “tobacco”.
What’s next? Lil’ Wayne weed? Or how about Lil’ Wayne Lollipops?
Miley Cyrus Wins ‘Best Song From A Movie’ At The MTV Movie Awards
by roberta on Jun.01, 2009, under articles
Miley Cyrus went up some stiff competition for the “Best Song From A Movie” category at tonight’s MTV Movie Awards.
She was up against A.R. Rahman for “Jai Ho” from “Slumdog Millionaire”, Bruce Springsteen “The Wrestler” from “The Wrestler”, and Paramore’s “Decode” from “Twilight”, but “The Climb” from the “Hannah Montana Movie” came out on top.

Obviously excited when she came out on stage to be presented her award by Lil Wayne, Cyrus said, “Dude! Lil Wayne just handed me my award.”
She then thanked fans who came out in droves for her to win and thanked God, saying, “I wanna thank God. Hellooo! The only reason I’m here!”
I really liked “Jai Ho”, to be perfectly honest. What were your thoughts on Miley Cyrus winning the golden popcorn?
Busta Rhymes Trailer: ‘Respect My Conglomerate’ (VIDEO)
by roberta on Apr.30, 2009, under articles
Busta Rhymes has released the trailer to his new video for “Respect My Conglomerate”. The video features cameos from Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, Tyrese, Xzibit, Idris Elba, David Banner, Spliff Starr, Jackie Long, Raekwon, and Adam Rodriguez.

Check out the trailer”
The single comes from his album, “Back On My B.S.”, which is due out in stores on May 19th. If that date sounds familiar, it’s because it’s the same day Eminem’s dropping “Relapse”.
There’s no word as to when the actual video will be released, as of yet. Stay tuned!

Best Rap Album Grammy: Lil Wayne
by roberta on Feb.08, 2009, under articles
Gary Sinise took the stage to introduce Lil’ Wayne, who performed along with Robin Thicke. Robin was classy, while Wayne was looking every bit of the hoodrat.
Allen Tuson took the stage right after to play the piano for the crow along with the “Dirty Dozen”. Their dancers won’t win “America’s Best Dance Crew” anytime soon, either. They sang, “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” in tribute to the Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans.
Will.I.Am and T-Pain took the stage to announce the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
The winner: Lil’ Wayne – The Carter III. He beat out Jay-Z with that nonsense. Really???
The “Rap Pack” Performs “Swagger Like Us”
by roberta on Feb.08, 2009, under articles
Queen Latifah came to the stage in a nice dark blue dress. She announced Dean Martin as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Grammy.
She also introduced M.I.A., who looks like she’s about to pop. Her due date is today, so I’ll bet she’s ready any day now. Along with her, Kanye West, T.I., Jay-Z, and Lil’ Wayne, they all performed “Swagger Like Us“.
M.I.A. looked cute with her belly and her hat. Can’t say much for what she was wearing, though.
After the “Rap Pack” performed, Kate Beckinsale got on the stage to introduce Paul McCartney along with Dave Grohl (of the Foo Fighters). Paul sang, “I Saw Her Standing There” and it was good. It’s good to see Macca is still going strong.
Lil’ Wayne Sings ‘Prom Queen’
by roberta on Jan.25, 2009, under articles
Lil’ Wayne is trying to do something different with this song, but I’m not sure what it is. Maybe drive fans away?
Are you digging this song? He sounds like he’s overusing the vocoder. Don’t you think? Not feelin’ it, maybe it’s time for Lil’ Wayne to rethink his strategy?
50 Cent Is Beefing With Lil’ Wayne?
by roberta on Jan.15, 2009, under articles

50 Cent and Lil’ Wayne are apparently feuding. Lil’ Wayne started the rivalry, attacking 50 in a mixtape. He rapped “All about a dollar, f**k two quarters/B**ch, I’ll our syrup in that Vitamin Water/I hope you die ugly, and tonight will be gorgeous.”
To that, 50 rapped, “I’m on your heels, Mr. Carter/I heard you/You want me to die ugly? Okay/Don’t end up on the list, n*gga/Be a missing person like Cam’ron, like Ja, like Joe/Who wants some?”
50 Cent says of their rivalry, “It’s gonna be hard for me to get off him. He’s a talented artist, but if you put him in a space when we’re in direct competition, my consistency will break his neck.”
Team Fiddy, yo.

Lil’ Wayne Falls On Stage
by roberta on Dec.31, 2008, under articles
Lil’ Wayne was performing on stage last night and was running around, when he slipped and fell. He got right back up and continued on with the show. Lil’ Wayne’s a trooper, yo.
When Beyonce fell, she was down for a minute, but Weezy got right back up. Christmas came a little late for some of us. Thanks Santa!
