Rapper Lil Wayne has been hospitalized once again for suffering from another seizure. On March 15th, he was publicly hospitalized for seizures and TMZ had claimed that he was basically on his death bed. It was said that he had overdosed on sizzurp and was so close to dying that he was being read his last rites. TMZ has the scoop:
Sources close to Wayne tell us … the rapper was taken to Cedars-Sinai in L.A. late Tuesday night by his bodyguards. We’re told he suffered a single seizure and was treated and released early this morning.
At least we don’t think that he’s using a health scare and/or TMZ to publicize his latest album. We’re glad that he’s okay, we just think that they over-sensationalized his condition in order to boost record sales. What do you think?
On March 15th, TMZ said that rapper Lil Wayne was at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was having his stomach pumped for a sizzurp overdose. The situation was said to be so dire that the gossip website reported that Weezy was being read his last rites. This caused a commotion in the rap community after Lil Wayne’s friends got on Twitter and was talking about the situation. Then, lo and behold, Weezy himself tweeted that he was just fine.
Now, apparently after all of the dust has settled, TMZ is like “HEY WE TOLD YOU SO!”:
Wayne, during an interview with Power 106 in L.A. yesterday, said he’s an epileptic and prone to seizures. And he said … he’s been having seizures for a long time.
As for the episodes earlier this month that landed him in ICU for 6 days at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center … Wayne said he suffered 3 seizures in a row and his heart rate went down to 30%, adding, “I could’ve died.”
We get it. You’re the cool kids on the block. Bet Harvey never thought he’d hear that.
Following his latest health scare, rapper Lil Wayne has finally been released from the hospital. Weezy was hospitalized on Wednesday of last week after suffering from seizures of which landed him in the intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Friday, TMZ reported that the rapper was nearly dead and was being read his last rites. Was it all a publicity stunt? TMZ has the latest:
Lil Wayne said ICU later to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood … because TMZ has learned he was just released.
Wayne spent 6 days in the hospital — most of it in the Intensive Care Unit — after suffering what appears to be a drug OD that triggered a series of massive seizures.
Sources connected with the rapper tell us … Wayne is feeling weak but he’s a lot better. He plans on laying low until he makes a full recovery.
We’re glad that he is feeling well enough to be discharged from the hospital, but we are hoping that he will learn to take it easy. He has taken to his official Twitter account to say, “I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.”
Since, we have yet to hear from the rapper. Here’s hoping that he checks himself into a rehab facility before it’s too late. Stay tuned for the latest as this story unfolds.
Rapper Lil Wayne is dying after being hospitalized for an overdose of his favorite drug, sizzurp. If you’ll recall, Wayne was hospitalized earlier this week after suffering from seizures. After he was released, just hours later, he was taken back to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A.
Wayne was rushed to the hospital again, but this time he did not stabilize. He was taken to ICU, where he was placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably.
We’re told Wayne is currently “unstable,” and has been placed in an induced coma. He is breathing through tubes.
We’re told several people are at Wayne’s bedside crying, and a number of rap artists and family members are on the way. Sources say the scene is violent as Wayne shakes uncontrollably.
Sources say there’s evidence Wayne went on a Sizzurp binge after being released Wednesday, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system.
We’re told Wayne’s stomach was pumped 3 times to flush the drugs from his system.
It’s also being reported that Wayne’s family is there and he has been read his last rites. Stay tuned for the latest updates on this story as they unfold.
UPDATE: Lil Wayne is NOT dying. Stay tuned for more.
Rapper Kanye West took the seventh spot on MTV’s Hottest MCs list, but he doesn’t think he should be at the number one spot. He feels that is an honor for none other than Lil Wayne. Who knew?!? In addition, he blasts the entire list and reminds everyone that he gave Sway his first television set. How lovely. Twana Tells has the scoop:
Everybody’s favorite angry black rapper, called into Hot 97 radio, and of course he went into a mini rant about having the number 7 spot on the list. Kanye stated that he feels like he was judged based of his relationship with his baby mama Kim Karadashian and the fact that he decided to wear a skirt instead of his rapping skills.
Rapper Lil’ Wayne has disrespected the memory of Emmett Till in a new song that was released by Epic Records called “Karate Chop”. In case you are unfamiliar with Emmett’s story, he was murdered August 28, 1955 after flirting with a white woman. From Wikipedia:
Emmett Louis Till (July 25, 1941 – August 28, 1955) was an African-American boy who was murdered in Mississippi at the age of 14 after reportedly flirting with a white woman. Till was from Chicago, Illinois, visiting his relatives in the Mississippi Delta region when he spoke to 21-year-old Carolyn Bryant, the married proprietor of a small grocery store. Several nights later, Bryant’s husband Roy and his half-brother J. W. Milam arrived at Till’s great-uncle’s house where they took Till, transported him to a barn, beat him and gouged out one of his eyes, before shooting him through the head and disposing of his body in the Tallahatchie River, weighting it with a 70-pound cotton gin fan tied around his neck with barbed wire. His body was discovered and retrieved from the river three days later.
Lil’ Wayne raps, “Bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels/ Beat that pussy up like Emmett Till.”
Epic released a statement: “We regret the unauthorized remix version of Future’s ‘Karate Chop,’ which was leaked online and contained hurtful lyrics. Out of respect for the legacy of Emmett Till and his family and the support of the Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. … we are going through great efforts to take down the unauthorized version.”
Only would Lil’ Wayne think that “wheels” rhymes with “Till”.

In a new interview with “MTV”, he revealed, “I know y’all want me around for a little bit, and ‘Carter V’ is my last album. Man, I’ve been rappin’ since I was eight years old. I’m 30 now, man. That’s a long time.”
