Dancing With The Stars 2011 Finale: Who Maksim Chmerkovskiy Thinks Will Win
by Roberta Ferguson on Nov.21, 2011, under articles

Tonight is the Finals on Dancing With The Stars — and it has all come down to three top contenders for the prize of the coveted Mirror Ball trophy. So who is going to walk away a winner on tomorrow night’s season finale?
It’s down to Ricki Lake, Rob Kardashian and J.R. Martinez — three fine dancers. According to DWTS cast-off Maksim Chmerkovskiy, he thinks that J.R. will take the top spot on the dancing competition.
When asked about who should win, he said, “Everyone deserves it.”
But afterward, he offered a more detailed explanation. He said, “I think J.R. deserves it. It is his right to walk into Dancing With The Stars and walk away with the trophy. But on top of all of that, he is a great dancer. If he doesn’t win there is something fundamentally wrong with America.”
And there you have it! Do you agree with Maks’ opinion on the winner? Sound off in the comments and let us know your thoughts! If J.R. doesn’t deserve it, then who do you think does? Let us know!

Hope Solo Inconsolable After Dancing With The Stars Ousting
by Roberta Ferguson on Nov.16, 2011, under articles

In case you hadn’t heard, Hope Solo was the latest celebrity to be sent packing on last night’s elimination episode of Dancing With The Stars.
After the show was over, Hope refused to give any interviews backstage and was seen breaking down in tears. Eyewitnesses said that Hope had a series of outbursts after getting eliminated and only wanted to talk to one journalist.
Earlier in the night, they showed a brief clip of Hope’s Monday night performance, where she only scored 24 points. She was obviously unhappy with the judges’ scores and gave off some negativity over it.
Later on that night, usually the castoffs from the show do an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, but last night was different. We expected to see Hope and professional dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy talking about getting close to the coveted Mirror Ball trophy. Yet, the three finalists appeared instead.
Spoiled sport? Or did she deserve to be in the Finals? Sound off in the comments below and let us know what you think!

Derek Hough: There’s No Maksim Chmerkovskiy Drama On DWTS
by Lydia Harris on Nov.05, 2011, under articles

Even thought there may appear to be some drama between professional dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Derek Hough on Dancing With The Stars, Derek says that’s not true.
On Monday’s show, it showed Derek helping Maks’ partner, Hope Solo, after Maks got frustrated. The rumors surfaced that they were in the middle of a professional squabble.

He went on to reveal, “We were out last night with each other and had a good time. Hate to disappoint.”
He added, “I’m just a ‘get on with it’ type of person. I don’t like taking breaks.”

DWTS Pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy Has Broken His Toe
by Jessica LeFevre on Oct.30, 2011, under articles

Dancing With The Stars professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy has broken his toe!
He has already got into some trouble after mouthing off at the show’s head judge, Len Goodman. Now it appears that he has something else to contend with — now that he has hurt himself.
He tweeted, “One thing that could make this Halloween weekend better—-NOT having a broken toe! Got @TeddyV & @BigMervLA helping out!”
Let’s hope that his toe heals quickly. Otherwise his partner, Hope Solo, will have to take on a new dance partner for tomorrow night’s show. If she has to dance with anyone else, who do you think it should be? How about Maks’ brother, Val?
What do you think?
Get well soon Maks!

DWTS: Maksim Chmerkovskiy Will Not Apologize To Len Goodman
by Jessica LeFevre on Oct.26, 2011, under articles

On Monday’s Broadway themed episode of Dancing With The Stars, soccer player Hope Solo performed a saucy Rumba with her professional dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Head judge Len Goodman wasn’t feeling their performance and commented that it was Hope’s worst dance of the season. On Tuesday, we reported the scuffle:
Len said he was really disappointed and then the audience started boo’ing. Maks was encouraging them to get louder with their disapproval. Len told Maks, “Don’t start all of that Maks, because half of the fault is yours.”
Maks replied with, “As long as the audience liked our journey, we’re good.”
Len quipped, “The audience liked the effect” and commented that he’s been in the business for fifty years. Maks snapped, “Maybe it’s time to go!”
Maks went on to talk to Brooke Charvet about the incident, telling her that it’s “his” show. The judges appeared upset at his proclamation. Now, Maks is revealing that he will not apologize for his comments from Monday night.
The dancing pro appeared on Good Morning America and said that he has nothing to be sorry about. He said, “I definitely have nothing to apologize for. I have nothing to apologize for to Len, and certainly not to Carrie Ann. She can make all the faces she wants. The last time I apologized was to my grandma when she was dying of cancer.”
He added, “I don’t regret anything. That’s why I think I’m a bit misunderstood in this situation. Everyone is waiting for me to bow my head, take a knee and say I’m sorry and plea for forgiveness. I have nothing to apologize for.”
Do you agree with Maks? Or do you feel he was out of line?

Maksim Chmerkovskiy Fights With DWTS Judge Len Goodman (Video)
by Jessica LeFevre on Oct.25, 2011, under articles

It was drama, drama, drama on last night’s Dancing With The Stars!
Right after Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy did their Rumba, the judges proceeded to lay into her. What seemed to have set Maks off was the fact that head judge Len Goodman called the dance Hope’s worst dance of the season.
Check out the video:
Afterward, when talking to Brooke Charvet, he said the show “is my show” and that he helped make it what it is today. Maks talked with The Hollywood Reporter after the fact, about his comments with Brooke:
Maks says he never meant to imply sole ownership. “I feel like it’s my show, and together, with other pros, I dedicated six years of my life to this show,” he says. “I’ve helped make it what it is, but I’ve never taken it away from anybody else who participated.”
It’s this affection for the show that prompted Maks to laugh off questions of this possibly being his last season on DWTS.
“Like I said, it’s my show, and I didn’t mean it in a selfish way,” he says. “I love it. It’s what I love doing. Our fans are phenomenal.”

Dancing fifth on last night’s performance episode of Dancing With The Stars was soccer star Hope Solo and her professional dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, doing the Foxtrot to the theme from Toy Story. In case you’ve missed the show, you can check out our official recap here.
This was the cutest dance of the season. Hope and Maks were adorable as Woody and Jessie, from the movie. It was a totally adorable and well executed dance. This was my favorite dance of the night. Hope and Maks have really good chemistry, dancing together. I hope that they don’t land in the bottom two, this dance alone was enough to keep them in the competition.
Bruno Tonioli said that they made sweet music together.
Carrie Ann Inaba said that they made her smile the whole way through the dance. She commented that it was refreshing to see them out there having fun.
Len Goodman said that he’s frustrated and that she could go all the way in this competition, but also said that he feels she’s not rehearsing enough.
