by Lydia Harris on Apr.09, 2012, under articles

On tonight’s episode of Dancing With The Stars, Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins and her professional dance partner Mark Ballas are dancing the Paso Doble. She dances pretty well, let’s hope that she can continue to do just that!
As always, we are live-blogging all of the action in tonight’s show, so you can read all about that here.
Our commentary on the dance:
The dance is aggressive and Katherine is definitely bringing out her inner Welsh Warrior. The steps are well done and it looks like the boxing really helped with her aggressive attitude. Well done!
Judge’s comments:
Bruno: She unleashed a whirlwind of fury, but it has to retain definition. Nice job, she’s a great dancer, but it’s not as refined as a Paso Doble should be.
Carrie Ann: The intensity was there, but it threw her off her footing.
Len: It had promise, but it didn’t quite deliver. She went for the attack, but it wasn’t there. She’s a wonderful dancer.
Scores:
Carrie Ann Inaba: 8
Len Goodman: 8
Bruno Tonioli: 8

Kristin Cavallari & Mark Ballas’ Dancing With The Stars Samba (Video)
by Jessica LeFevre on Oct.04, 2011, under articles

Former Hills reality star Kristin Cavallari and her professional dance partner Mark Ballas performed a Samba on last night’s performance episode of Dancing With The Stars. She said that her most memorable year was 2005, which was the year that she moved to Los Angeles. In case you’ve missed last night’s show, you can read our official recap here.
Kristin and Mark performed their Samba to Beyonce’s song Crazy In Love. Check out the video of their performance, below:
The entire dance, to us, seemed like one big strip show. She shook her moneymaker, that’s for sure. Judge Len Goodman started off the judge’s commentary by saying that this Beyonce stuff isn’t his cup of tea, but the other 80 percent of the dance was fabulous.
Bruno Tonioli said that was more than ‘crazy in love’, was crazy in lust! The camera also panned to Kristin’s former fiancee, Jay Cutler, who was in the crowd to support her. Bruno called her a “fast moving devil woman”.
Carrie Ann Inaba said that Beyonce is some pretty big shoes to fill, but she thinks she did pretty darn good. She said that Kristin is doing some very difficult choreography.
Scores:
Carrie Ann: 8
Len: 8
Bruno: 8
Total: 24/30
What did you think of Kristin’s Samba? Was that your favorite performance of the night? Who are you rooting for this season of Dancing With The Stars? Sound off in the comments and let us know your thoughts!
Kristin Cavallari & Mark Ballas’ Dancing With The Stars Quickstep (Video)
by Jessica LeFevre on Sep.27, 2011, under articles

Dancing second on last night’s Dancing With The Stars, were reality show star Kristin Cavallari and her professional dance partner, Mark Ballas, doing the Quickstep.
It was a lively and happy Quickstep, and Kristin showed some improvement over last week’s dance.
Check out the video of their Quickstep:
Bruno Tonioli said he was “bedazzled by the blonde bombshell!” He said he loves old Hollywood glamor and this performance was “twinkling with pleasure”. He said she just worked it beautifully. He advised her to hold her frame all of the way through in the Quickstep. He commented on her “beautiful ending”, saying that got too excited and almost missed it.
Carrie Ann Inaba said, “Last week, nervous, this week, STUNNING!” She said it was a complete transformation and she was elegant and floated across and they were in complete synchronicity. She said that Kristin was gorgeous, light on her feet and kept her frame and it was just “GORGEOUS!”
Len Goodman said Kristin looks fantastic, but the dance wasn’t as good as she looked. He said she had him dazzled by the whole spectacle, but if you look closer, the footwork could have been cleaner, the hold could have been stronger and said that she broke hold, which is against the rules, a couple of times. However, overall it was a great improvement over last week and told her “well done.”
Judge’s Scores:
Carrie Ann: 8
Len: 7
Bruno: 7
Total: 22/30 points

POLL: Was The Right Couple Eliminated On ‘Dancing With The Stars’?
by Roberta Ferguson on May.18, 2011, under articles

Last night’s Dancing With The Stars saw the elimination of professional dancer Karina Smirnoff and her partner Ralph Macchio. Upon our examination of the comments from our recap on the show, some thought it was unfair to oust the actor from the Semi-Finals show.
On Monday night’s show, Ralph and Karina performed the Argentine Tango first, scoring them a total of 25 points. For their second dance, they scored 23 points for their Salsa, which wasn’t as bad as the judges made it out to be. Bruno Tonioli even insulted Karina’s choice of attire, with a terrible comment. Afterward, they were pitted against Hines Ward and Kym Johnson for the first round of the newly implemented “Winner Takes All Cha Cha”.
Our friends at CelebDirtyLaundry made the suggestion that perhaps the judges were trying to rig the competition. We were thrown off by the addition of the “Winner Takes All Cha Cha”, considering that it put Chelsea over fan favorite Ralph with that extra fifteen points.
So, since the voting from the public didn’t come into play on Monday night’s show, do you think that the judges had their favorite to be in the finals? Do you think it was right of them to put Ralph up against Hines? Or would it have been more fair if Ralph went up against Kirstie? Let us know your thoughts!
Take our poll: Was the right couple eliminated on Tuesday night’s results show?

In a new interview, she said that she grew up around many different dance styles. She said, “The Mumba is my favorite. But my favorite growing up was definitely jazz. I’m totally open to Dancing With The Stars. That would be really fun because I’m a huge fan of the show so I’d definitely love to do that!”

Dancing With The Stars week two recap 3/28/11
by Roberta Ferguson on Mar.28, 2011, under articles

Dancing With The Stars is back for week two and they all have another chance to make good scores due to the fact that no one was eliminated last week!
Dancing first were Sugar Ray Leonard and Anna Trebunskaya, doing the Jive. Len commented that Sugar Ray was in jeopardy already. Bruno said that it was too soft around the edges. They scored 17 points.
Dancing next were Kendra Wilkinson and Louis Van Amstel, doing the Quickstep. Len commented that her posture was a bit hit and miss. Overall, there was improvement over last week. They scored a total of 19 points.
Up next on the dance floor were Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas, dancing the Jive. It was an entertaining dance, yet the judges said that there wasn’t much of a Jive to it. Carrie Ann said that she didn’t care for the choreography. They scored a total of 18 points.
Dancing the Quickstep are Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke. His dancing seemed a bit stiff, but overall, it looked like he was having fun. At points, it seemed a bit effortless for Chris, which is a bonus. They scored a total of 23 points.
Up next are Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin, doing the Jive. She did a pretty good performance. Len said, “Long legs, bad technique”, but she “did it beautifully.” They scored a total of 18 points.
Dancing next are Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, doing the Quickstep. They did a good job, I loved their dance, even though it wasn’t my favorite song choice…Ha. She ended the dance with a big kiss for Maks! They scored a total of 20 points.
Mike Catherwood and Lacey Schwimmer are up next, doing the Jive. He was truly awful and slow and stiff — and that’s being kind. Obviously, this guy needs to stick to radio. They scored a total of 17 points.
Dancing next are Romeo and Chelsie Hightower, doing the Quickstep. They looked cute and a little disconnected. He looked like he was about to mess up at any minute. They scored a total of 23 points.
Next up are Wendy Williams and Tony Dovolani doing the Quickstep. This dance wasn’t very quick, considering that it’s a Quickstep. Too many props, too, in my opinion. They scored a total of 17 points.
Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff danced the Jive next. They did really well, the dance was fast and fun! He’s 49 and he’s dancing like he’s 20. You go, Karate Kid! They scored a total of 21 points.
Hines Ward and Kym Johnson danced the Quickstep next. They did decent, but not spectacular. I can see him doing better in a ballroom styled dance, instead of something that was supposed to be so fast. They scored a total of 23 points.
Who are you rooting for???
