It has never been a secret that Mel Gibson has an anger management problem, but he appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Friday to discuss his ongoing feud with screenwriter Joe Eszterhas. Since the scandal first broke, Mel has kept mum on the subject of his temper, but he joked with the talk show host, “Maybe you don’t know this about me, but I’ve got a little bit of a temper.”

Gibson revealed that he was upset that his former pal recorded his tirade during a vacation at his Costa Rican home. Eszterhas released the rant, of which his son recorded using his iPhone. This followed Eszterhas reprimanding the actor for his behavior in front of his son. Previously, Eszterhas wrote a letter criticizing Gibson for being an anti-Semite. Gibson retorted by claiming that Eszterhas was just upset that Warner Brothers turned down his Maccabees script.

Gibson told the talk show host, “Has it really come to the place where you can’t blow off steam in your own home, even if you’re justified? If he put half as much time and effort and creativity and imagination into a screenplay, which he was supposed to write, as he did into that letter, we wouldn’t be having this conversation… It’s kind of like you build a house, you hire a guy to put a roof on it, he comes over and eats lunch and talks about the roof, and then you get rained on all night. Wouldn’t you be kind of peeved?”

Mel Gibson’s divorce from long-time wife Robyn has been finalized — so he is officially back on the market.

The divorce was finalized on Friday, after the former couple eschewed the proceedings. Robyn asked for her maiden name to be restored to Moore. The terms of the divorce settlement have been made confidential, but we’re pretty sure that Robyn is walking away a very rich woman.

His fortune was previously estimated to be in the ballpark of $850 million. Also of note is the fact that they did not have a prenuptial agreement, which means she is entitled to half of everything he earned during their marriage.

They have seven children together, with only one of which being a minor. Robyn filed for divorce after learning that Mel had a steamy affair with Oksana Grigorieva, which ended with the birth of their daughter, Lucia.

Congratulations?

In a new interview, Mel Gibson opened up about the taped recordings, which made him sound like a bigot.

He revealed, “It’s one terribly awful moment in time, said to one person in the span of one day, and doesn’t represent what I truly believe or how I’ve treated people my entire life.”

He went on to say, “I’ve never treated anyone badly or in a discriminatory way based on their gender, race, religion or sexuality.”

He said that the tapes had been “edited”, adding, “I don’t blame some people for thinking [I'm bigoted] though, from all the garbage they heard on those leaked tapes.”

After Liam Neeson replaced Mel Gibson as a tattoo artist in The Hangover 2, it appears that Liam’s cameo in the movie has been cut, as well.

Entertainment Weekly reports:

As Todd Phillips told Variety, the scene — in which Neeson played a tattoo artist — was snipped during the editing process when the director decided to do reshoots. Since the Oscar-nominated star was unavailable for additional filming, Phillips wasn’t able to shoot the altered scene with Neeson. The actor who filled his shoes? No, not Mel Gibson, who was cast in the role before getting axed after cast and crew members raised objections to filming with the embattled star.

Instead, Nick Cassavetes, otherwise known as the director of The Notebook, was tasked to play Neeson’s tattoo artist. “We were in a complete time crunch so I called up Nick and asked if he would do the part,” Phillips told Variety. “He came in and crushed it and that is the scene that you will ultimately see in the film. [I'm excited for everyone] to see the film. It turned out great.”

Mel Gibson has cut a deal with prosecutors in the domestic violence case against him. The DA’s office is furious because news has been leaked before Oksana Girgorieva was notified. Consequently Oksana will learn the news in the media. Apparently the deal allows Mel to plead no contest to simple battery and get no jail time.

TMZ has the scoop

As we first reported, Mel had been agonizing over the impending criminal charge — related to the January 6, 2010 blowout with Oksana Grigorieva — worried that a prolonged court fight would be a strain on his family, particularly his children. We’re told … even though Mel believed he could win the case — he struck the deal to protect his loved ones.

Mel’s lawyer released the following statement, “I know from almost 20 years as a criminal defense lawyer that sometimes justice can come for a client at too high a personal price. That is particularly so for Mel, whose right to due process can only be exercised in this case with an enormous media circus attached.”

So NO jail time for Mel – he will have to attend counseling. Even though he is getting no jail time he will have a conviction for battery so that will make his custody war with Oksana all the more difficult. I can understand why they settled this – there have been so many lies and half truths throughout this case who knows what to believe anymore.

Well color me surprised Kristian Herzog who was Oksana Grigorieva’s ex bodyguard and according to him his lover has called her a ‘sexual sorceress’. Sorry I just vomitted in my mouth :-) Furthermore Herzog says all her domestic abuse claims are all lies – guess she is not bewitching him anymore LOL. According to Herzog, Oksana told him Mel never punched her, he slapped her. Mel Gibson has always claimed that he did not punch Oksana that he slapped her to calm her down when she was shaking their daughter Lucia.

TMZ has the scoop:

Herzog — who has been subpoenaed by Mel’s lawyers in the custody war — tells us Oksana admitted to him that she secretly taped Mel Gibson “to pressure Mel to pay her money.” Oksana is currently being investigated by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department for alleged extortion.

Herzog — who was privy to virtually every conversation Oksana had with her lawyers — claims he had a sexual relationship with Oksana — she denies it.

There are so many lies in the Mel and Oksana situation – I don’t think anyone knows who to believe anymore. It does seem a bit suspicious that two days after prosecutors were rumored to be ready to charge Mel with domestic abuse the ex-bodyguard is saying this. But seriously with these two who knows anymore? The question for me is – Did Oksana not pay him enough to keep his mouth shut or did Mel pay him more to change his story?

In Mel Gibson’s sworn declaration in his custody fight with Oksana Grigorieva, he admits to slapping her, because she was so hysterical that he felt she was endangering their daughter Lucia.

On the night of January 6, 2010, Mel says that they were having their typical argument at his home, when Oksana grabbed Lucia out of her bassinet and brought her in the middle of the argument, screaming, “Stop yelling or you will make her into a retarded brain damaged idiot!”

Mel claims that she then “spun around”, ran into her older son’s room and then out into the backyward. He said that she ran across the backyard for about 75 yards. He asked her to come back inside, and she ran back into her son’s room and was “swinging Lucia erratically in her arms, jerking her body from side to side to keep Lucia out of my reach.”

He added that she was “hysterical” and her “rapid movements were causing Lucia’s little body to be flung from one side to the other, her head shaking violently. He claimed he feared Shaken Baby Syndrome. After she refused to hand Lucia over, he said, “I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to bring her back to reality. I did not slap her hard, I was just trying to shock her so that she would stop screaming, continuing shaking Lucia back and forth.”

TMZ reports:

As for Oksana, Mel says, “I did not hit Oksana with a closed fist, as she alleges. I did not ever punch her in the face or in the temple or anywhere else, not then or at any other time.”

Mel admits, “While I do not believe I handled the situation as well as I should have, I was worried about the rough way Oksana was shaking and tossing Lucia around,” adding, “My hand never touched any part of Lucia.” As we’ve already reported, the pediatrician who examined Lucia the next day saw no evidence of injury.

And Mel says, “There was never any blood on Oksana and none of her teeth were ‘broken,’ although one of the false veneers from a tooth apparently did come off, I did not see that occur at the time.”

Do you believe him?

After Mel Gibson’s role in The Hangover 2 was recast, it was said that Zach Galifianakis was to blame because he piped up the loudest of the original cast.

He said that he wasn’t to blame over the firing and insists that he really has no say in the “hiring and firing of actors.”

Mel was set to play a Thai tattoo artist, but after the producers of the movie received complaints about Mel’s cameo, he was replaced by Liam Neeson.

Zach said, “I do not consult on the movies that I’m in. I just show up and I say my lines, usually terribly, and I do consult on dialogue. But as far as hiring and firing of actors, I have no insight into that world whatsoever.”

Playboy magazine has extended an offer to Mel Gibson’s ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva. Apparently the publication wants all of the men in the world to see what attracted Mel in the first place.

They are looking for her to pose completely nude and are willing to pay her a sum of $75,000 for the privilege.

TMZ reports:

Sources close to the offer tell us Playboy is willing to fork over a cool $75,000 for her trouble — and to sweeten the deal, they’re even willing to give Oksana the cover … a pretty enticing move for a struggling musician looking for some non-Mel publicity.

So far, no word on whether Oksana is considering the move — but with her significant legal debt, it could be the perfect opportunity.

Mel Gibson’s movie career is shredded to pieces. After reportedly knocking out ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva’s teeth and cussing her out in voicemail messages, there really isn’t much left to do, except for sit back and hope it all blows over.

Mel is said to be trying to get a guest spot on the AMC hit series Mad Men. He was said to be in talks with creator Matthew Weiner about taking a guest starring spot on the show next season.

Mel Gibson got a little miffed when WGN-TV reporter Dean Richards asked him, “Do you think the public will perceive you any differently after all that’s been in the news about you?”

Richards was referring to Gibson’s anti-Semitic rant along with his drunken shenanigans. Gibson responded, “That’s almost four years ago dude. I’ve done all the necessary mea culpas. Let’s move on.”

Richards quickly rapped up the segment, plugging Gibson’s new movie, “Edge Of Darkness”. While saying goodbye, Gibson replied, “Bye bye, Asshole.”
