Last July, Kim Kardashian filed a lawsuit against Old Navy and their parent company, Gap, over lookalike Melissa Molinaro. The company used Melissa in a commercial for their brand and in her commercial, she was seen singing and dancing.

Now, we’ve heard that Kim’s lawsuit against the clothing giant might not stick in court. Oh noes! HA, just kidding — we don’t really care that this twit won’t be able to continue lining her pockets for being talentless.

At the time the ad surfaced, Kim launched her lawsuit, complaining that the company used a lookalike to get fans to believe that she was affiliated with them. She thought that she suffered damages to the Kardashian brand to the tune of $15-$20 million.

Experts say that the lawsuit is not likely to stick in court. In the court documents, Kim is referred to as being “libel proof” because she has already done so much to her own reputation that it would be difficult for anyone else to do any worse. She starred in her own sex tape, which catapulted herself and her family into fame. Now they have their reality television shows and have endorsed numerous products and are raking in millions per year with all of their ventures.

In case you hadn’t heard, reality star Kim Kardashian is suing Old Navy and parent company, Gap Inc., over their using a lookalike in a new commercial. The company hired Melissa Molinaro to promote the brand in new ads, and it has Kim fuming mad!

Apparently, some folks might have been confused to think that Kim was actually endorsing Old Navy. She has launched a lawsuit at the company, in order to protect her deal with Sears.

Now, Melissa is coming forward to say that she is proud of her commercial! She wouldn’t comment on the lawsuit that has stemmed from her involvement — or her reported involvement with Kim’s ex, Reggie Bush, but she did give a comment about the ad itself.

She said, “It was a great shoot and I was honored to be chosen from the auditions which included more than 500 other girls held in different cities.”

At least she didn’t get famous from peddling her own sex tape and then lying about it. She only looks like Kim, without the trashy bits. We like this one.

Now, we’re getting to the bottom of the real reason why Kim is taking the clothing giant to court…and it all boils down to a new deal that she’s got going on with Sears!

No one just sues a huge company because they found someone who looks like a younger version of you. So there had to be a reason that Kim filed against Old Navy. Well, apparently she’s got this huge deal in the works with Sears for the Kardashian Kollection. That is their exclusive line of clothing and bedding that is set to launch in a month and a half.

TMZ reports:

We’re told Sears execs actually questioned if Kim was part of the Old Navy ads. The company feels the ad creates confusion in the marketplace and that happens to be exactly what Kim needs to prove to win her suit.

Bottom line — Kim doesn’t care about KK wannabes … but she cares a lot about a deal that could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Kim Kardashian is steaming mad at Old Navy for using a lookalike of her in a recent ad campaign. So mad, in fact, that she’s hitting them right in the wallet!

The ads ran showing Melissa Molinaro, who does actually look like the reality star. So, she’s taking them to court! She claims that the clothing company used the lookalike to fool the public into believing that she is actually affiliated with them.

TMZ reports:

We’re told Kim is especially furious that Old Navy has been tweeting to her page about the look-alike — in an effort to gain even more publicity.

One of those tweets read, “@CBSNEWS reports that Old Navy’s Super CUTE star looks like @kimkardashian. #LOL. What do you think?”

We’re told Kim believes the copycat campaign has damaged her wallet somewhere in the range of $15 to $20 million.
