Kirstie Alley has been on the promotional tour for her new memoir in which she claims that she and her “North And South” co-star Patrick Swayze were in love. She also claimed that it took everything inside of her not to run away with John Travolta, as well. As a matter of fact, this book is littered with “should’ve, would’ve, could’ve” love stories. Narcissism, perhaps?
Apparently after claiming that she had an emotional affair of sorts with Patrick, his wife Lisa Niemi had something to say about it. Reportedly, she feels betrayed that her once close friend that she just wanted to let go and scream at Kirstie, “I hate you! Patrick never loved you! How could you do this to me?”
Lisa and Patrick were married for 34 years and he passed away in 2009 from pancreatic cancer. Since, she has just begun dating Albert DePrisco, but she is not happy about Kirstie’s claims regarding her former husband.
A source said, “Lisa has so many happy memories of her marriage to Patrick. Now, Kirstie has sullied those memories by trying to cash in on her friendship with him.”
In her memoir, Kirstie said that she and Patrick tried to “avoid going to that road”, but claimed that they couldn’t help falling in love with one another. She writes, “He exuded that anything was possible. The emotions and dialogue escalated daily. One night, toward the end of the shoot, I got fairly drunk, dirty-danced for hours and then succumbed. We made out with each other.”
They didn’t go all of the way according to Kirstie, but she did say that he “asked me one last time to divorce my husband and make a new life with him. He was very persuasive. The decision of whether to run off with him was torturous.”
Uh huh. Are you buying any of this?
Kirstie Alley recently revealed to “Entertainment Tonight” that she and Patrick Swayze were in love with one another during the filming of their show “North And South” in 1985. In the same interview, she also referred to John Travolta as the love of her life and said that it took everything she had in her not to run away and marry him. Now, she’s diving deeper into the Patrick Swayze story, saying that he basically rejected her advances for sex.
She said, “It was just too much of an attraction. I will say that at the time Patrick was drinking a lot, Patrick’s been very public about that.”
In her book, “The Art Of Men”, she said that after a night of partying with the actor, she tried to pounce on him, but was rebuffed. She revealed that she told him, “I want to make love with you. I just don’t care anymore, let’s just do it.”
He responded, “No. Come on, you’re drunk. Kirstie, you don’t really want to do it. You’re not that kind of girl.”
She added, “I have no idea if Lisa knows anything about Patrick and I…I was probably the least of Lisa’s problems with Patrick.”
Kirstie Alley is currently promoting her new book, so of course she’s letting some old skeletons out of the closet. Just yesterday, Kirstie copped to falling in love with her “North And South” co-star Patrick Swayze. We weren’t even aware that she had an emotional affair of sorts with him. At least they didn’t go forth with a physical affair, right?
In that same interview, she also said that John Travolta was the love of her life and it took everything she had in her not to run off and marry him. Then, of course, she was hit with the “gay” backlash. Considering how many masseuses came out of the woodwork, we wouldn’t say that the rumors were exactly unfounded. Still, she is now defending John — because that’s what fellow Scientologists do for one another….no?
Kirstie sat down with Barbara Walters and when she asked about John, Kirstie said, “I know John with all my heart and soul; he’s not gay.”
She did offer up a theory as to why the rumors won’t go away. She said, “I think in some weird way, in Hollywood, if someone gets big enough and famous enough, and they’re not out doing drugs and they’re not womanizing, what do you say about them?”
Yesterday, she said of John, “Believe me, it took everything I had inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John and be with John for the rest of my life. I feel like when you marry someone, you’re supposed to work hard at it and you’re supposed to make it work.”
At the time they knew each other, Kirstie was still married to Parker Stevenson, while John was single. She and Parker divorced in 1997, but John was already married to Kelly Preston as of 1991.
Kirstie Alley has revealed that during the filming of the show “North And South” back in 1985, she and her co-star Patrick Swayze fell in love!
During the show’s production, Kirstie was still married to Parker Stevenson, while Patrick was married to his long-time love Lisa Niemi. It’s a shocking revelation, really, but why come out with this information now?
In a new interview with “Entertainment Tonight”, she spoke of her special friendship with the late actor. She said that they fell in love with each other, but did not want to cheat on their significant others. She denies that any affair had taken place during their time working together.
She revealed that they were both married and they wanted to halt things from “going down that road”, but says that she couldn’t help her feelings. She said, “Both of us were married, but again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you’re married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It’s doubly bad.”
What do you think of Kirstie’s comments? Why do you think she is bringing this up now?
Patrick Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi, posed with his recreation in wax! Creepy?
Madam Tussaud’s recreated the wax statue of Patrick from a shot of him in Dirty Dancing. She posed with the statue, which was dressed like Patrick’s character from the movie, Johnny Castle.
Lisa told the crowd, “It became clear to me that someone had put a lot of love into this, for a man I loved so very much.”
How sweet. They really did love each other a lot, you could always tell when they were together that their ties were deep. Lisa also said that the sculptor captured the “Swayze look” in its eyes.
She reveal, “They have Patrick’s confident, but mischievous look.”
What do you think of his wax figure? Creepy or are they paying homage to a great actor? Sound off in the comments and let us know your thoughts!
This a bit of a rant, so be warned. I’ll start this off by asking, how many times have you seen the movie Dirty Dancing? More than twice? Congratulations, you’re normal.
As fans of the movie, we know that there’s really no one out there that can play the role of dance instructor Johnny Castle like Patrick Swayze did. There’s no other “Baby” like Jennifer Grey, either. Even though she wasn’t “baby” anymore after her nose job…but still.
Lionsgate has announced plans to do a remake of the 1987 cult classic, with Kenny Ortega at the helm.
“The opportunity to direct Dirty Dancing is like returning home for me,” director Ortega (who helmed the High School Musical films and Michael Jackson’s This Is It) said. “Growing up in the ’60s on the dance floor helped define me as a person and as an artist.”
Finding stars to fill the shoes of Grey and Swayze will be tough, he admitted. “Patrick Swayze set the bar for men dancing in the movies as Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire did before him.”

If you were watching Dancing With The Stars‘ season premiere when Jennifer Grey came on and started yelling “Nobody puts Baby in a corner!” at your television, then congratulations, you’re probably not alone there. (Or really was it only me?)
Shame on the producers of the show for allowing her to use the song, These Arms Of Mine by Otis Redding, from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. That was just begging for someone to bring up the ghost of Patrick Swayze.
Wouldn’t be reasonable to suggest that this was an unfair advantage to the competition?
Did you tear up? Own up wimps!!!
