Bret Michaels lies everyone.

When talking with MTV about Miley Cyrus butchering Poison’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”, Bret actually said Miley can sing.

He said, “It was really, really simple. I think her first concert was Poison. She saw us at Nashville at the arena. It was her introduction into rock and roll.”

And then there’s the lie. He added, “She’s one of few musicians…and I want to use that word cause she can actually play and sing, she’s one of the few people who can pull it off and give it her own flare and make it sound good. It was one of those nights that just worked. It was fun. It’s gonna be her taking ‘Every Rose’ and making it all hers.”

Remember how we told you that Miley Cyrus was getting ready to butcher Poison’s classic ballad, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”? Well, she did, and the results are everything I thought it would be. Crappy….and then some!

Oh noes! If you are a child of the eighties, like I am, then this is some dismal news. Apparently Miley Cyrus thinks she’s got the chops to cover 80’s rock ballad, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”.

Her mom, Tish, said, “‘Every Rose’ is one of her all-time favorite songs and she is really excited about cutting it.”

It’s too bad really that she can’t “cut it”. Maybe she should just stick to singing crappy country and tween crap instead of butchering the classics like this.

What’s next, “Sweet Child O’ Mine”?

This song didn’t make it onto Beyonce’s “I Am…Sasha Fierce” album, but the song has just leaked onto the internet.

Bret Michaels and Poison were performing “Nothing But A Good Time” at the 2009 Tony Awards. From the video below, you’ll see that as soon as they were all done playing, Michaels walks off the stage.

As he’s walking off, the set piece comes down and knocks him in the head, perhaps knocking him down. (?)  It is unclear as to the injuries suffered, if any, or whether or not he was taken to a hospital after the performance.

The piece coming down looks like it knocked him down. I hope he’s okay and hasn’t suffered any sort of concussion or other related damage from this.  If so, you know he’ll probably sue.

Now you know that this is a concert that even I would be able to pass up. And they’re coming to Blossom, too. Woot.

Def Leppard, Poison, and Cheap Trick are joining up for a what I’m calling an “Economic Crisis Package Tour“. The tour involves all three bands touring together for an 80’s extravaganza that will have each band performing their classic hits (and some new stuff) for one low price.

They must know times are tough!

Joe Elliott says, “We’re going out with three bands, which limits the amount of time we can play to about 90 minutes. When you do your greatest hits and some new material or extra stuff you might throw in, you have got to push and shove and clamp down.”

Joe Elliott of Def Leppard picks on Poison and other glam bands for not concentrating on the music as opposed to putting on mascara. He said that the bands are doing it because they’re covering for the fact that they have no substance to their music. He said that Hanoi Rocks was the only exception to the rule.

Bret Michaels responds, saying that music comes first, and they haven’t sold out every arena because they care only about their appearance. He goes on to rag on Def Leppard for lip-syncing on Dancing With The Stars.
