The cast list for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars has been revealed and we can safely admit that we weren’t impressed in the slightest. ABC said that they were going after big named celebrities, yet the most known celeb on the list is David Arquette.

Rumors were swirling across the internet that Queen Latifah was set to sign up for the dancing competition, which was something she denied. Now, HollywoodLife reports the reason why. According to them, she felt that she was “too big of a star” to compete for the mirror ball trophy!

Usually, D-list celebrities appear on the show to boost their acting careers and status in the media. Queen Latifah was already a bigger star than any they’ve had appear on the show, so perhaps it’s really beneath her to do it.

An insider said, “She thought it would be a career downturn. She didn’t believe she needs it, even though she is a fan of the show.”

I agree, she doesn’t need the show at all….but I can’t deny that it would’ve made it fun to watch. Queen Latifah is a funny lady. At least with her, it would’ve been entertaining…Don’t you think?

It’s just been announced that country singer Carrie Underwood has been chosen to sing the National Anthem for the Superbowl on February 7th.

According to Us Magazine, “Queen Latifah will also sing “America the Beautiful” before the Feb. 7 game, in which the Indianapolis Colts will battle the New Orleans Saints. The Who will take the stage at half-time.”

Queen Latifah wants to find the next best female rapper and bring her on tour with her.

Latifah feels that there is a lack of talent in the area of female rappers and wants to give a lady the chance to prove to the world that she has what it takes. (continue reading…)

Ruben Studdard is just about ready to drop his fourth studio album, “Love Is” tomorrow, May 19th. That must be the best release date for new music. Queen Latifah is releasing a song tomorrow, Eminem’s “Relapse” album is out and now Ruben Studdard is giving us a taste of new music from him.

Studdard is set to perform at NYC’s Central Park Summerstage on June 13, 2009.
