Last summer, things went south between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart when it was revealed that she was rumored to be hooking up with married director Rupert Sanders. Since, their relationship has seemed a bit rocky, but that might all be about to change for the better.

According to the latest gossip, Rob has already forgiven Kristen’s indiscretions. It took a while, but are things finally returning to normal between them? A source said, “Rob is making Kristen work to regain his trust, but for now it seems that he’s really starting to forgive her. She has proved to him, for now, that she knows what she did was wrong and that she’ll never put him through that again.”

An insider said, “They love each other so much and will always have this connection, but it’s very complicated. It’s been hard ever since Kristen cheated. She’s done everything she can to keep Rob, but they haven’t truly gone back to normal yet.”

Still, they are happy. The spy added, “Rob and Kristen celebrated Easter together at her mom’s house in Malibu. It was low-key and Kristen’s brothers were there as well. During the day, Rob took the paddle board out. There is a private beach where Jules lives and that’s where Rob always goes paddle boarding. It’s very secluded and private.”

After Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson with married director Rupert Sanders, it didn’t appear as if too many people were in her corner. Now, her mother has come to her defense after it’s all said and done.

Kristen did receive a lot of flak for cheating on Rob with a married man. Rob called it quits with her after she issued her public apology for the scandal. Later, they seemed to have mended their fences, but the damage to her reputation in the media was all done. Her mother Jules is now jumping to her defense.

“Well I tried to raise my kids…I didn’t raise them to be children, I raised them to be adults. That is a concept that might be lost on a lot of people. I also tried to make them understand that it’s OK to make mistakes, so don’t be afraid to have a go at doing something different. And in that vein of ‘I’m interested in this, let’s try it, let’s see what happens,’ my kids have always been the first ones on the line ready to have a go at something different. And it’s OK to fail, because that’s how you learn, when you fail.”

In the aftermath of Liberty Ross’ divorce filing from Rupert Sanders, little bits and pieces of information are trickling out. Of course she was upset that he cheated on her during the filming of “Snow White And The Huntsman” with Kristen Stewart, but she apparently really wanted to work on her marriage.

A pal of the model said, “Liberty did all she could to try and save the marriage, but in the end she thought it would be best to walk away. They just couldn’t see eye to eye. Of course she is heartbroken, but the trust between them was completely destroyed and Liberty was humiliated. Liberty is a strong woman and will be just fine.”

The friend went on to say, “Rupert is not taking it well at all. I can only imagine how Kristen feels — that her actions contributed to the breakup of a family.”

After one of the most trying (and public) years of her life, Liberty Ross is ready to liberate herself from husband Rupert Sanders. As revealed on Friday Jan. 25, the British model, 34, filed for divorce from the director, 41, after ten years of marriage and two kids (Skyla, 7, and Tennyson, 5).

“This was a long time coming,” one source tells Us Weekly, explaining that, in the aftermath of the shocking tryst, Sanders “did want to try to repair the relationship and didn’t want a divorce.”

Ross, who picked up her life and career in London to move with her husband to Hollywood a couple years ago, “was more than a little upset,” adds a second insider. “They gave it a shot for the kids, [but] she was just so angry . . .she’s the kind of person who wouldn’t really ever get over it.”

The stunning brunette, who walked in Alexander Wang’s NYC Fashion Show last fall, hinted at changes to come in a confessional video series for the designer. “[This year was] the end of some things and the beginning of something else,” she continued. “Beginnings and endings are always really exciting.”

By contrast, in the wake of her betrayal (and a very public apology) Stewart mended things with her longtime love Robert Pattinsonl; although the British hunk is now filming in Australia, the Twilight costars were most recently spotted together at a private Golden Globes afterparty in Hollywood Jan. 13.

Ross, who is repped by disso-queen Laura Wasser, is also asking for spousal support, as well as attorney’s fees.

Sanders, who is repped by Lance Spiegel, also filed his response to the divorce petition. He’s also requesting joint custody. He is not asking for spousal support. As for attorney’s fees, he wants to share the costs with Liberty.

After the affair became public, Liberty issued a statement on her relationship. She said, “I believe we’re all on journeys and we’re all given lessons at certain times in our life…sometimes when things seem really bad you have to be able to see the good and learn from it. Robert Pattinson left the Los Angeles pad he shared with Kristen Stewart once she confirmed the rumors of an affair with Rupert Sanders. Since, they have apparently reconciled their differences and have even moved back in together. So what was the key factor in their reconciliation???

After the scandal broke, we exclusively told fans that Kristen did not have sex with the married director. In fact, her pal Giovanni Agnelli said that things never got that far. He took to his Twitter page to talk of the affair and defended his friend. Apparently that is the story that Kristen has been sticking to — and Rob believes her.

She told Rob that she never actually slept with Rupert and all they did was share some make-out sessions together. A source revealed, “Kristen and Rupert both told their respective partners that they didn’t actually have sex. Kristen was absolutely steadfast that she only engaged in several make-out sessions with Rupert, but never slept with him.”

The source went on to say, “Rob didn’t believe her in the beginning but as time wore on he accepted her explanation. Kristen has given Rob passwords to her voicemail and email account to prove she has nothing to hide and will do anything to get his trust back.”

The source added, “There are still a lot of raw emotions there and time will tell if Rob and Kristen stay together. Rob and Kristen will be promoting the final Twilight movie and it will be very interesting to see what happens after that.”

It was said that Rob was already planning to tie the knot with Kristen before the cheating scandal came to light, so there could be some truth to these reports. The source said, “They have both talked openly about marriage before and she’s been telling him for years that she doesn’t want to rush into anything. But Kristen will do anything to get back with Rob now and one of the conditions is to discuss getting married and the future. Rob is very romantic and traditional.”

In the latest issue of “Vogue” magazine, Kristen revealed that she and Rob would be “just fine” doing the promotional work for the final “Twilight” movie, “Breaking Dawn”. They are both contractually obligated by Summit Entertainment to promote the fourth flick, so this doesn’t surprise us whatsoever. Reportedly, the decision to appear on the red carpet with Kristen was completely and totally business related and he is in no way looking to get back together with her.

We were hoping that there would be some fireworks when they both get together to pose for pictures on the red carpet. We might just be disappointed, but at least they are being adults about the situation. What do you think? She may have “cheated” on Robert Pattinson, but Giovanni claimed that Kristen and Rupert did not have sex whatsoever. Now, apparently “OK!” is running with the speculation that Kristen might have cheated with Giovanni, as well.

The tabloid reports that Rob is growing suspicious over Kristen’s close relationship with Giovanni. They cite sources claiming that Kristen spent a lot of time with Giovanni and was even crashing at his place after their relationship crap hit the fan.

In addition, the tabloid cites an article (without attribution) to RadarOnline about Rob calling up Giovanni and accusing him of sleeping with Kristen. Kristen was said to have been denying that anything happened with Giovanni, though. An insider reportedly said to the magazine, “Kristen has had enough of defending herself to everyone and has become a lot more confident as she plans her life with or without Rob. Obviously she wants Rob back, but the truth of the matter is, he’s so angry and unforgiving that she isn’t at all sure if he’ll ever forgive her.”
