Danette Meyers insisting on jail time for Lindsay Lohan

We’ve heard that the Prosecutor in Lindsay Lohan’s jewelry heist, Danette Meyers, is playing hard ball!

Reportedly, the D.A’s office is looking for jail time in ANY plea deal that Lindsay strikes as a result of the felony charges that were brought against her. Oh snap!

Lindsay’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley has been trying to work her magic for the rehabbed actress, but it might not be panning out for her as planned.

A source said, “Meyers is standing her ground and saying that any deal for Lindsay include jail time. This is a felony charge, and Lindsay has a criminal record. Meyers won’t back down on this. Both sides are now at an impasse.”

The DA is looking for Lindsay to serve at least 60 to 90 days in the slammer for this recent theft. But, Lindsay isn’t feeling the jail thing. A spy said, “Lindsay will do anything to not go back to jail. She can’t deal with jail again. If push comes to shove, Lindsay will go to trial on this case if a deal can’t be reached.”

What do you think? Should Lindsay do jail time?

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer blasts escape story

by on Oct.14, 2010, under articles

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, is blasting recent reports that the actress tried to make a break for it to nab a can of Coke.

TMZ reports:

Shawn Chapman Holley tells TMZ, she spoke with Lindsay’s counselors yesterday and there was absolutely no mention made of any attempt by Lindsay to cross the line.

Holley adds, “The counselor gave Lindsay an unqualified glowing report on her progress.”

TMZ first reported … Lindsay is at the Betty Ford Clinic. We’ve independently confirmed … there’s a soda machine in Lindsay’s ward, allowing her to walk a matter of feet in order to satisfy a caffeine fix.

Maybe they should’ve said that she was trying to make a run for Red Bull, because that would’ve totally been believable.

Lindsay Lohan surrenders to jail authorities

by on Jul.20, 2010, under articles

Today is D-Day for Lindsay Lohan and TMZ is covering the scene where she is supposed to be surrendering herself to authorities. She was given a 90 day sentence by Judge Marsha Revel, but it’s likely that she’ll only serve 23 days and get out early based on good behavior.

Just yesterday, it was revealed that her lawyer, Robert Shapiro, quit. Rumor has it that Lindsay feels that he was only using her to promote his sober living house. Shawn Chapman Holley is stepping up to the plate to deal with the details of her surrender.

Lindsay has just arrived with Shawn to surrender to authorities. Will update as soon as we have more details! (And a mug shot, hopefully)

Lindsay Lohan couldn’t afford Stuart V. Goldberg, hires Robert Shapiro?

by on Jul.12, 2010, under articles

On Friday, it was said that Lindsay Lohan called Chicago based lawyer Stuart V. Goldberg and asked him to fly to Los Angeles to meet with the Lohans over her jail sentencing case.

He came out there, but was not hired as counsel. Shawn Chapman Holley remains counsel of record until Lindsay retains a new one. Stuart, the orange oompa loompa, apparently does not work for free.

TMZ reports:

Stuart V. Goldberg met with Lindsay, Dina and Ali on Friday night and it was a done deal, until he got a call over the weekend from Lindsay’s business manager, Lou Taylor, who said they just couldn’t afford him … this is all according to Goldberg’s camp.

But on the Lindsay side, it’s a whole other story. Let’s just say that even Dina and Lindsay decided Goldberg was … how do we say it nicely … a little eccentric. How ’bout a license plate with letters that reveal the word, “Snake Charmer”

The new leader in the clubhouse? We hear it’s none other than O.J. Simpson’s former lawyer, Robert Shapiro. Hey, Shapiro helped get a killer off, so maybe not such a bad idea.

She’s only got eight days to make some magic happen. She needs to get on an appeal if she’s going to do it already.

Lindsay Lohan still seeking a new lawyer; Hasn’t hired Stuart V. Goldberg

by on Jul.11, 2010, under articles

According to various sources around the web, it appeared that Lindsay Lohan had hired on orange lawyer, Stuart V. Goldberg, to help with her jail sentence. Apparently that’s not the case.

RadarOnline reveals that the troubled starlet is still on the hunt for new representation.

Radar reports:

“Stuart Goldberg is not Lindsay’s new attorney,” Lohan’s New York legal rep Stephanie Ovadia tells us.

Well, they sure are taking their time trying to interview replacements for Shawn Chapman Holley. She still remains Lindsay’s lawyer of record until Lindsay hires a replacement.

They’ve got nine days for someone to work their magic and try to get her out of hot water.

Lindsay Lohans lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley quits!

by on Jul.08, 2010, under articles

Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, has apparently had enough of Lindsay’s crap.

She quit working for Lohan earlier today after the big F-U in court. I don’t blame her. Lindsay should have thought twice before she acted.

As for the replacement lawyer Tiffany Feder-Cohan has stepped up to the plate. Tiffany sure has a good handful of bullcrap to deal with now. I don’t feel bad for Lindsay, but I do feel bad for the lawyer. She just passed the bar exam in November. To hurl all of this BS on her at this point is unfair.

She reportedly quit because of Lindsay’s hope in appealing her jail sentence. Yeah, because that’s totally going to happen, right?
