Former “X Factor” head honcho Simon Cowell regrets the way things began with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman. As you may recall, Cowell began dating Silverman while she was still married to Andrew Silverman and she ended up getting pregnant. Cowell and Andrew Silverman just happened to be best friends at the time and the British music mogul regrets how it all went down.
When speaking on the topic of fatherhood, Cowell said, “I was born to be a dad.”
About how it all happened, he said, “I regret that part. But then of course you have a baby and you look at the baby and you kind of go, ‘This is what happened from it.’ It is not something I am proud of or wanted to happen in terms of hurting anyone. It just happened.”
He continued, “You have to deal with it and man up to it. You have to accept the responsibility and the criticism. My life has changed, but I am probably more focused on what I am doing now than I was a year ago. Maybe because it puts things in perspective having two people in my life who I am responsible for Now the house is full of people, it has become a home rather than a house.”
The X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell has just become a father with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman. It was rumored while she was pregnant that he would name their son after himself, but as it turns out, that is not the case. The music mogul and his girlfriend have decided to name their son Eric Cowell. Cute name, right?
After Eric’s birth in New York, Simon shared several black and white photos of him and the baby on his official Twitter account. In the above photo, he said, “I never knew how much love and pride I would feel.”
Simon shared his first words to his son Eric Philip Cowell. He told the baby, “I’ve waited all my life for you.”
For this photo, he showed the tot sleeping next to some stuffed animals. He captioned the picture, “Eric’s new friends.”
He tweeted, “The last three days have been incredible. Eric Lauren squiddly and diddly all happy.”
Isn’t Eric a cutie pie?
We are displeased to announce the official cancellation of The X Factor USA. The show just recruited Paula Rubino, Kelly Rowland and Demi Lovato for its third season, but has announced that it will not be going forward for a fourth season. Ugh. What will Simon Cowell do now? Perhaps he just wants to concentrate on being a father?
This fall, the show would have made its return, but Simon has announced that he will continue on with the U.K. version of the talent competition. Simon revealed in a statement, “I’ve had a fantastic time over the last twelve years, both on The X Factor and American Idol. And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public – most of the time!”
It’s a shame to see Simon withdrawing his show from American television. Are you sad to see it go? Now that The Voice and American Idol will have no competition, which of the two will you be tuning into on a regular basis? Have your say in the comments section below!
Music mogul Simon Cowell is selling off his $1.7 million car. He bought the Bugatti Veyron three years ago and has only driven it twice, so he is getting rid of it. Don’t fret, though, because he’s only selling the Veyron because he has purchased something different.
He took to his official Twitter account to say, “Bought my favorite car in the world this weekend so I am going to have to say goodbye to the Bugatti. Both are alpha males, one has to go.”
It must be nice!
TV and music mogul Simon Cowell has revealed the name that he wants to give to the son that he is expecting with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman. He said, “My number one choice is Simon because I like the name.”
He went on to say, “His birthday is going to be very close to my dad’s birthday. I want to teach him how to do my job as quickly as possible. I want to pass the reins over. I really would like the idea of teaching him how to run the business.”
He even talked about the type of music that he will play for his first born child. He said, “He’ll listen to whatever I listen to and make his own choices. It’s funny—my mom played Frank Sinatra when I was a kid, and because he was her choice, I used to hate it; but I love Sinatra now. He always looked like he was having fun and he didn’t conform. That’s probably why I’ve got pictures of him all over my house!”
Don’t you think Simon will make a great father? We’re guessing he’s probably wondering why he didn’t do this long ago…
