What did you think of the season premiere of The X Factor? Who are you rooting for so far — or is it too early to tell?
The X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell has hinted he will finally settle down and marry the mother of his unborn child, Lauren Silverman, insisting that he is “not ruling anything out”.
The music mogul is set to become a father for the first time after confirming his girlfriend Lauren is pregnant with his child, and reports suggest the long-time bachelor may now be planning to make their relationship more permanent.
Cowell was asked about the marriage rumors in a new interview with TMZ, and he refused to confirm or deny whether he plans to pop the question to his new squeeze.
He said, “I’m not ruling anything out in the future. If you’d have asked me a year ago if at my age, I was gonna have a baby, I probably would have said no. So I think you have just got to take each day as it comes now. Whatever feels right you should do.”
Cowell also confirms he has bought Silverman her own apartment so she can feel “a bit more settled” following her recent divorce. He added, “I did sort out an apartment for her, which she moved into this weekend and is very happy. She feels a bit more settled now. She’s happy.”
Simon Cowell has opened up about the reasons behind Britney Spears’ departure from The X Factor, revealing the singer found her job as a judge “very uncomfortable”.
Spears joined the panel of the hit talent competition, but quit after just one season on screen. Cowell has now revealed he made a mistake hiring the singer, because she hated interacting with contestants and voicing her opinion on the acts.
In a taped interview with Ellen DeGeneres, he revealed, ”I didn’t realize that (she was not good at talking)! I kind of booked someone who couldn’t talk, which is a bit of a problem when you want someone to judge… She wasn’t comfortable being negative, she didn’t like it when the contestants spoke back to her, so she was just uncomfortable. I liked her. So we decided to change it this year.”
Cowell also admits he became obsessed with chasing star names for the judging panel in a bid to keep up with the show’s competitors, American Idol and The Voice.
He added, “There was a time I think everyone was trying to up themselves in terms of who could find the biggest known star to be on a panel. And in terms of a pop singer? Jennifer Lopez and the other one on The Voice… I can’t remember. Blondie. Christina (Aguilera). And we said, ‘We’ll take Britney’. She was fine, but I think she found it very uncomfortable.”
Simon Cowell has opened up about his relationship with the woman carrying his child, insisting Lauren Silverman has been unfairly portrayed as a “gold digger”.
The X Factor head honcho, who is expecting his first child with the socialite, became headline news back in July when the baby story first broke amid claims he had been named in Silverman’s divorce papers by her now ex-husband Andrew.
Cowell admits the situation was “kind of uncomfortable” at first but has since calmed down, and he is adamant Silverman was treated unfairly after the news emerged.
In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, he said, “It was kind of uncomfortable, you know, the situation. But these things happen and everything is kind of calm now and I’m happy. I’m actually happier than I’ve ever been…”
He went on to say, “I obviously can’t blame the media – it was kind of what I call a juicy story. But there was a lot of stuff that was said about her: that she trapped me and that she’s a gold-digger. It’s absolute nonsense. She’s a great girl but, like I said, it was awkward because of the circumstances.”
Cowell is rumored to be in a relationship with Silverman after they were spotted kissing while on vacation together. The interview with DeGeneres airs on Tuesday.
Music mogul and X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell has vowed not to change dirty diapers when he becomes a father for the first time.
The expectant father insists he will be a good dad but has no intention of getting his hands dirty when it comes time to change the baby’s diapers.
In a new interview with the BBC, he said, “I’m not doing that, 100 percent absolutely not going near that… Once I got used to it, I did get excited. I will be a good dad, so I’m excited.”
Cowell is expecting his first child with socialite Lauren Silverman early next year.
Despite the fact that Cowell thinks that he is too good for diaper changing duty, do you think that he is going to make a good father? Certainly he has enough money to pay gobs to his many servants in order to get his son or daughter’s diapers changed, so it’s not like he won’t be there for the kid.

X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell has confirmed reports suggesting he is set to become a first-time father, stating, “I’m proud to be a dad.”
The music mogul hit headlines last month amid allegations that his best friend’s wife Lauren Silverman is pregnant with his baby, and after weeks of speculation Cowell finally broke his silence about the rumors at the premiere of One Direction’s movie 1D: This Is Us in London on Tuesday.
With a huge smile in on his face, Cowell said, “Things are changing in my life right now, for the better. I’m proud to be a dad. It’s something I hadn’t thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it. She’s a very special girl.”
When pressed to divulge whether the tot is a boy or girl, he added, “Can’t say”.
Last week, Cowell learned he will not be taken to court over Silverman’s divorce from her husband of ten years, Andrew. What a shock that is, right?
Silverman had filed for divorce in early July, citing adultery as the reason for the split and naming Cowell as a co-respondent, but the matter has since been settled out of court.
