Meredith Vieira has confirmed that she will be departing from The Today Show!

She made the announcement earlier today that she’s leaving the show and Ann Curry will be taking her spot. TMZ reports:

Vieira took the co-host seat next to Matt Lauer five years ago, replacing Katie Couric.

Lauer said Vieira “”has brought class and dignity and talent and a joy of life to this show for the last five years.”

I wonder where she’s going to go next? Any guesses???

After Kanye West had a run-in with host Matt Lauer on The Today Show over his 2005 comments against George Bush, he took to his Twitter to rant…and rant he did.

Kanye called it a setup, yet the show’s producers said that they still expected him to come back for a scheduled performance. He tweeted that he has no plans on going back to the show, saying, “I’m not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons. I’m so happy the world got to see just a small piece of ‘the set up’.”

Do you blame him????

Rumor has it that Lindsay Lohan is still shopping around her first post-jail interview and the Today Show just might be the ones to afford it.

TMZ reports:

Sources tell TMZ the NBC show has definite interest in landing the coveted sit-down with LiLo — a source at the Peacock says they are “actively” trying to sign her.

We’re told Lindsay is strongly considering Matt Lauer & Co. — among several other outlets — which is ironic considering Dina Lohan’s “Today” appearance didn’t go over so well.

Alicia Keys has just released the album cover art for her new album, “The Element Of Freedom”. There was an imposter floating around previously, but this is the real deal.

Her fourth studio album is set to hit stores on December 15, 2009. It has been confirmed that this is the official album art, due to Alicia posting it on her Facebook account.

On November 24th, the singer will perform some of the songs from the album on the “Today Show”. Since embedding is disabled, you can view the official video for her first single, “Doesn’t Mean Anything” here on Youtube.

Her album is going to be great, I love her voice. Joining her for the “Today Show” performance are John Mayer, along with Susan Boyle. So you know it’s not something you’d want to miss.
