Britney Spears Makes Her X Factor Debut

Pop singer Britney Spears has made her debut as a judge for Simon Cowell’s singing competition, “The X Factor”. If you’re wondering how she did, well, don’t expect any meltdowns just yet. After judging the competition for two days, she has turned out to be a popular judge on the show.

She made her debut on Thursday and Friday in Austin, Texas and we’ve heard reports that she is already a hit in her new job. Also of note is the fact that she’s not afraid to go against the grain and disagree with Simon, L.A. Reid or Demi Lovato. Britney told one contestant, “I feel like your song was just in the wrong key”, adding that a different song would’ve been “more interesting.”

She commented to another contestant, “Your voice is really sweet, but I feel like you need a little more training.”

Britney is reportedly making $15 million for her role as judge on the singing show. It was said that Britney walked off of the set after a contestant butchered one of her songs, but rumor has it that the reports weren’t true.

As you can see from the above photo, Britney wore a bright pink dress both days in order to maintain continuity on the show. Will you watch the second season of “The X Factor”? We’ll be covering it as the show airs and along the way if we’ve got any interesting tidbits for you.

Mariah Carey Discusses Britney Spears X Factor Comments

Mariah Carey’s name was mentioned as a possible judge on the upcoming second season of “The X Factor USA”, but as it turned out, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato were chosen for the vacant judging spots on the show. After the announcement was made, Mariah commented that she didn’t care who was taking the open seats on the show.

She said to “Extra”, “I love Britney, honestly. I think she’s a very nice person, but I don’t care who’s going on that show — as long as it’s not me.”

Since, Mariah has taken to her official Twitter account to say that she was only making a joke with her previous comments. She tweeted, “@BritneySpears & @SimonCowell of course I luv+care about you dahhlings, congrats! U never know what’s true or gossip, I was joking around!xo”.

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will appear alongside Simon Cowell and Antonio “L.A.” Reid as judges on the second season of the talent competition. The only thing that’s missing from the equation is who’s going to take the spot of host for the show. Who do you think would be a good fit?

Howard Stern Says Britney Spears Will Be A Trainwreck On 'The X Factor"

Pop singer Britney Spears is stepping off of the stage and sitting at the judges’ table on the upcoming second season of “The X Factor”. We applauded the decision by Simon Cowell to sign Britney on for the show, but apparently Howard Stern thinks it’s going to be a train wreck. Of course, Howard is in the middle of promoting his new gig as a judge on “America’s Got Talent.”

The shock jock said that hiring the pop star is a “wonderful decision” because she “still thinks the earth is flat.” Oh snap. He revealed, “I think we’re going to tune in to see her, to see if she can function through the thing. As far as any real criticism, I think Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid will do that. I think Britney will sit there and eat a lollipop and wear a sexy outfit.”

He added, “I’ll tune in to see what kind of train wreck she is, absolutely.”

Will you be tuning in when the talent competition makes its second season debut?

Britney Spears Signs On For Judging Duty On 'The X Factor'

After much widespread rumor and speculation about who would be taking the open judging seats on the second season of “The X Factor”, we’ve learned that pop star Britney Spears has officially signed on. Congratulations to her! Reportedly, she was first offered $10 million, to which she counter-offered $20 million. According to the latest Hollywood gossip, she has agreed to do the show for a cool $16 million. Nothing like a little bit of compromise, hmm?

After “E! News” broke the news that Britney will be joining Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid at the judge’s table, “Us Weekly” confirmed the reports. A source revealed, “There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she’s on. It’s all completed and Britney is beyond excited.”

A show insider said, “She can’t wait to sit down next to Simon at the judges’ table and give this everything she’s got. She is excited about showing the world that she can do this, and do this well.”

We think this is a great fit for Britney. We can’t wait to hear the banter between Britney, Simon and L.A. Do you think she’s a good fit for the judging position? She will also be mentoring her category, so that should prove to be interesting. Who do you want to see sitting in the only vacant spot left at the judges’ table?

Demi Lovato And Britney Spears Agree To Judge 'The X Factor'?

Since Simon Cowell fired Steve Jones, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger from the U.S. version of “The X Factor”, there have been many names attached to the show. Katy Perry, Fergie, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and Whitney Houston (prior to her untimely death) were all mentioned as replacement judges.

We’ve learned that Britney Spears has agreed to do the show for $15 million. Now, we’re hearing that Demi Lovato is also signing on to do the show. “E! News” is reporting that Britney and Demi both have offers to join the singing competition for its second season and have agreed to the contract’s terms. The only thing they have left to do is to sign the official documents for the show.

There has been no word as to how much Demi would be getting for her role on the show. A FOX spokesperson has declined to comment on the rumors. Who do you think would be good to judge the show sitting next to Simon and L.A. Reid?

Miley Cyrus To Judge The X Factor USA?

Right on the heels of all of the reports surrounding whether or not Britney Spears is signing up to judge the second season of the U.S. version of “The X Factor”, we’re hearing reports that head honcho Simon Cowell might be courting former Disney queen Miley Cyrus.

Since Simon fired Steve Jones, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, there have been numerous reports circling the internet about who would take their places. As fans of the show, we were curious about who could fit in nicely with the show alongside Simon and fellow judge Antonio “L.A.” Reid.

A show insider has revealed to us that “there have been talks” between Simon and Miley about the young starlet sitting next to him in the show’s second season. Also said to be shortlisted for the judging spots are Fergie, Avril Lavigne and Demi Lovato.

Simon Cowell Won’t Confirm Britney Spears X Factor Reports

Simon Cowell Won't Confirm Britney Spears X Factor Reports

The X Factor USA head honcho Simon Cowell still wants to keep all of the show’s fans in the dark about its upcoming second season. The only thing he is willing to tell everyone is that it’s going to be much better than the first season. There have been rumors suggesting that everyone from Mariah Carey to Katy Perry will be filling the vacant judge’s spots at the table. Most recently, we’ve heard reports that pop princess Britney Spears has signed on for a cool $15 million.

Not that he’s willing to offer any type of confirmation — so are we going to have to wait until the second season makes its debut before we find out for sure who will be judging? Will he allow the media to continue the circus of speculation?

When speaking with former co-worker Ryan Seacrest, Simon said, “If it was my decision, one hundred percent. If we could get her, yeah.”

When Ryan’s co-host, Ellen K. spoke up to ask the mogul if Britney is up for the task, he said, “We’ll have to find out very soon, darling… If we’ve spoken to her. Don’t forget, there’s a lot of names that have been bandied around – some true, some false – but we’ve said to everyone we’ve spoken to we’ve got to keep quiet about it because you’ve got to wait until people sign up.”

He added, “But we’re very, very close.”

Do you want to see Britney sitting at that table with Simon and L.A. Reid?

Cee Lo Green: ‘X Factor’ Should Worry About ‘The Voice’

Cee Lo Green: 'X Factor' Should Worry About 'The Voice'

The Voice judge Cee Lo Green thinks that the X Factor USA bosses should be concerned about competition from his show. He said that he’s not worried about the competing show because they are just “completely different”. Does Simon Cowell have something to worry about from competing talent shows? Or is there room enough for all of them?

In a new interview on The Tonight Show, Cee Lo said, “The premises of each show are just completely different. I think if anybody should be concerned, it’s them.”

Yes, they are different shows, but they are all similar. Between The X Factor, American Idol and The Voice, they all aim to find the next big star. So in all actuality, they are not that different. The differentiating factor is basically the format of each show.

One offers a million dollar contract for its winner, while another a five million dollar record deal and the last receiving one hundred thousand dollars and a recording contract.

When the third season of The Voice airs, it will compete directly with The X Factor USA. Which will you be tuning into? Also, we haven’t heard as to whether or not Adam Levine will be returning for the show’s third season, as it might conflict with his Maroon 5 schedule. Stay tuned as details become available on The Voice’s third season.

Simon Cowell’s London Home Burglarized

by on Mar.25, 2012, under articles

Simon Cowell Robbed!

The X Factor show boss and judge Simon Cowell has become the victim of a burglary at his London home when a woman broke in over the weekend. Just hours before Britain’s Got Talent returned to televisions, Simon’s house was burglarized.

Simon was said to be home when the woman, Leanna Zaloumis, broke in. She has since been charged with aggravated burglary and is set to appear in court this morning. The Catford, South East London resident broke into Simon’s West Kensington home just after 10:30 PM on Saturday.

When officers arrived, they found that the woman had forced her way onto the property — with the music mogul home at the time of the break in. We are unsure as to who alerted the authorities by calling 999.

Reportedly, nothing has been removed from the property and Scotland Yard has refused to comment. There has been no comment as to whether or not a weapon was recovered at the scene.

Stay tuned as further details are made available. Simon has refused to comment on the break in and has referred it to the authorities for investigation.

Ryan Seacrest To Host The X Factor USA?

by on Jan.31, 2012, under articles

Now that Steve Jones is out at the host of The X Factor USA, who is going to fill his shoes? It’s being rumored that American Idol host Ryan Seacrest might be taking the job.

If Ryan were approached to take the hosting duties for Simon Cowell’s talent show, wouldn’t that mean the show is becoming American Idol 2.0?

Ryan is a good host and the show definitely needs a boost since ousting the Welsh host, Steve. However, after hearing Ryan utter the words, “This…is…American Idol!” so many times, would you want him to join The X Factor? Could you imagine him as the host of both shows?

Will Simon seek out Ryan to host the show? Or will he opt to find some new talent for the hosting job? Who should he hire to take on that role?

It’s also being rumored that Simon is looking to get Mariah Carey on the show as a judge. That move would definitely bring some star power to the show, but is she the right choice?

Would you watch if Ryan is hosting and L.A. Reid, Mariah Carey and Simon Cowell are judging? What could they do to bring you in as a viewer? Hit the comments with your thoughts!

Simon Cowell Hints At Steve Jones’ X Factor USA Termination

by on Jan.30, 2012, under articles

There have been some rumblings in the past about whether or not Steve Jones’ contract with The X Factor USA would be renewed.

Back in December, a source said, “The executives at Fox have already decided not to renew his contract and so, short of a miracle happening, it is pretty much a done deal that he will not take part next season.”

Despite that, a spokesperson for The X Factor said, “No discussions have been had and no decisions will be made about any new contracts until the New Year.”

Now, it seems that things might be going south for the host! Simon Cowell said, “I don’t think he did a bad job but, like America’s Got Talent, there is a Brit limit on the show.”

Fox Entertainment chief, Kevin Reilly, previously said, “Whether Steve’s the guy or not, it comes under the heading of growth in general, so there will be some tweaks to the show. Hosting, as we know, it is a much harder job than meets the eye. I think everybody now has come to realize the value of Ryan Seacrest.”

Do you think they should replace Steve Jones? If so, who should replace him? Hit the comments and let us know what you think!

The X Factor USA Results Top 5 Elimination Recap 12/8/11

The X Factor USA Results Top 5 Elimination Recap 12/8/11

It is hard to think of who will be going home after last night’s performance episode of The X Factor USA. The remaining final five acts are good and are worthy of being in the competition.

The remaining five acts are: Rachel Crow, Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik, Marcus Canty and Chris Rene.

The contestants performed two songs each on last night’s show. Their second songs were supposed to be chosen by the public in the Pepsi Challenge, but at the last minute, they were told that they would have to perform their “save me” songs.

It’s tough to predict at this point in the competition. It did seem to us that Simon didn’t want Josh to stay in the competition, but we’re going to guess that one of L.A.’s guys will go home tonight.

Performing on tonight’s elimination episode are Lenny Kravitz, along with Mary J. Blige! Lenny will be performing a medley of his new song Rock Star City Life from his new album into Are You Gonna Go My Way. Mary will be performing Need Someone from her new album.

Until our recap at 8PM EST, tell us in the comments who you want to see in the FINAL FOUR!

SAFE: Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene!

It’s down to Melanie, Rachel and Marcus….Who is going to have to sing for their supper tonight???
Melanie Amaro is safe!!

It’s down to Rachel and Marcus, who will have to perform in the final showdown, to go through to the semi-finals!

The X Factor USA Results Top 5 Elimination Recap 12/8/11

Marcus is up first, singing I’m Going Down….he really put all of his heart and soul into the song, but this is his third time in the bottom two…. Can he survive again? Rachel sang her song, I’d Rather Go Blind! Loved it!

Judge’s Vote:

L.A. Reid votes to send home: Rachel Crow
Simon Cowell votes to send home: Marcus Canty
Paula Abdul votes to send home: Marcus Canty
Nicole Scherzinger votes to send home: Rachel Crow

We’re in a deadlock! So who got the lowest amount of votes from America??? Eliminated on tonight’s show is RACHEL CROW! Are you surprised?

The X Factor USA Results Top 7 Double Elimination Live Recap 12/1/11

by on Dec.01, 2011, under articles

The X Factor USA Top 7 Double Elimination Recap 12/1/11 - Top 5 Revealed

On last night’s performance episode of The X Factor USA, it was Michael Jackson night. All of the remaining contestants put their own spins on our favorite tunes from the King Of Pop. In attendance, were Michael’s brothers, his children, Paris, Prince and Blanket, along with his mother, Katherine, who is a big fan of the show. [Recap, performance videos]

Here’s who sang what on last night’s show, along with our brief commentary:

Josh Krajcik – Dirty Diana [Overshadowed by overproduction.]
Astro – Black Or White [Good rap, excellent stage presence.]
Drew – Billie Jean [Boring, but great voice. Yawn.]
Rachel Crow – Can You Feel It [Did not feel it.]
Marcus Canty – PYT (Pretty Young Thing) [His vocals were off]
Chris Rene – I’ll Be There [Going home.]
Melanie Amaro – Earth Song [Best performance of the night.]

So, who’s getting eliminated tonight? Our guess is Chris Rene and quite possibly Marcus Canty or Rachel Crow. Even though Josh Krajcik’s performance left a lot to be desired, the man can still sing. One bad night should not exclude him from going through to the top five.

Who are you rooting for tonight? Stay tuned, we’ll be providing our live up-to-minute coverage of the show when the show airs at 8PM EST.

It’s showtime! Over 16 million people voted for last night’s finalists! The top seven are kicking off the show with a tribute to Michael Jackson’s Man In The Mirror. I love it! Josh and Melanie really are stars! Astro is rapping, nice! Best group performance of the show yet.

Going through the competition:

Chris Rene
Melanie Amaro
Rachel Crow
Josh Krajcik
Marcus Canty

Tinie Tempah is performing his new song, Pass Out.

Between Astro, Marcus Canty and Drew, the act with the lowest amount of votes and will be leaving immediately is Astro! Wow! Now, Drew and Marcus will have to go head-to-head in the final showdown! Steve Jones still cracks me up with his “Off you go, Astro!” Drew is whiny, jeez. Perhaps tonight, she’s going to give us an upbeat performance?

Regarding Astro, he has talent, there is no doubt about that. I just think America fell out of love with him after he demonstrated his attitude. If he would’ve remained grateful, I think he would still be in the competition. I guess Vote For The Worst couldn’t save him this week.

Drew is up first, performing Listen To Your Heart by Roxette. I was hoping for that swift, upbeat ending, but we didn’t get it. Snooze.

Up next is Marcus, singing Neither One Of Us by Gladys Knight. It has feeling and soul, but will it be enough?

So who has been eliminated from tonight’s show???

L.A. Reid is sending Drew home.
Simon Cowell is sending Marcus home.
Nicole Scherzinger is sending Drew home.
Paula Abdul is sending Drew home.

Drew Ryniewicz has been eliminated! Shocking! What do you think of tonight’s elimination?!!!??

X Factor USA Host Steve Jones Blasted Over Lakoda Rayne Comment (Video)

X Factor USA Host Steve Jones Blasted Over Lakoda Rayne Comment (Video)

In case you missed it, on last week’s double elimination episode of The X Factor USA, America sent home both LeRoy Bell and country group Lakoda Rayne. During the group’s elimination, host Steve Jones said, “The dream is over”. Apparently that didn’t sit well with the all girl group that was formed during Boot Camp.

After the show’s elimination, the girl group spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and told them that they were offended by Steve’s comment. Paige Elizabeth said, “I took what Steve said a little bit personally, I found it offensive.”

She went on to say, “The dream is over? That was inappropriate. You don’t say stuff like that. That’s why I like ninja-gripped the microphone.”

WATCH:

The group’s mentor, Paula Abdul, added, “I couldn’t believe he said that, but I’ve explained to these girls as I’ve worked with them that it’s a TV show and people say the right things at times. Maybe it was scripted and someone who wrote it didn’t realize. It’s a hard job what he does and I think Steve realized a dream isn’t over.”

The X Factor USA Results Top 9 Double Elimination Live Recap 11/23/11

The X Factor USA Results Top 9 Double Elimination Recap 11/23/11

It was a night of giving thanks on last night’s performance episode of The X Factor USA. Each act presented their songs with dedication and loving feeling toward the person they were thanking. Again, there were some standout performances with some still sticking out in our heads. [Recap, Videos Here.]

They all had touching stories, but only seven will go through to next week’s show. Tonight, nine become seven as the act with the lowest votes will get eliminated immediately. Afterward, the two acts in the bottom two will perform in a head-to-head showdown for the judges to vote. We can speculate that Josh Krajcik and Melanie Amaro will surely be safe from elimination, as their performances really stood out.

Tonight, we find out if America was really fed up with Astro enough to vote him out! If LeRoy Bell ends up being eliminated, it wasn’t because his story wasn’t touching enough. It was. But his version of Angel was just not up to par. If Chris Rene ends up on the chopping block, it could be because no one was feeling his version of Let It Be. His saving grace was that he realized the song wasn’t working and changed it up in the middle.

If Drew Ryniewicz ends up biting it tonight, it will be because she’s always doing the same old tired routine. Her performances are slow and there’s no upbeat tempos — and almost no life. If Lakoda Rayne ends up singing for their supper, it’s because they aren’t polarizing enough to keep in the competition. That would be unfortunate for Paula Abdul, because they’re the only group she’s got left.

Here’s who did what:

Rachel Crow – I Believe by Yolanda Adams
Marcus Canty – A Song For Mama by Boyz II Men
Melanie Amaro – World’s Greatest by R. Kelly
Chris Rene – Let It Be by The Beatles
Lakoda Rayne – You Belong To Me by Taylor Swift
LeRoy Bell – Angel by Sarah McLachlan
Astro – Show Me What You Got by Jay-Z
Drew Ryniewicz – Skyscraper by Demi Lovato
Josh Krajcik – Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones

Predictions: LeRoy Bell will get eliminated first. Afterward, Chris Rene and Lakoda Rayne or Marcus Canty will go head-to-head. (continue reading…)

Astro Gets Calm For Next Week’s X Factor USA

Astro Gets Calm For Next Week's X Factor USA

On last week’s elimination episode of The X Factor, it got down to Astro and Stacy Francis in the bottom two. Astro acted indignant in the final showdown, even asking his mentor, L.A. Reid, if he should sing at all, to stay in the competition.

This move didn’t sit well with Simon Cowell, who made it clear that he almost changed his mind in choosing to send Stacy home.

Since, we’ve learned that there is going to be a double elimination next week — so will Astro change his tune?

Apparently so, because Simon tweeted this message to let Astro’s fans know that things are much different now. He tweeted, “Met with Astro and his father today and @LA_Reid. Everything is much calmer now and the good news is he’s back on the show next week.”

Was it a wise decision for them to keep Astro in the competition over Stacy? What do you think? Sound off in the comments and let us know! Will Astro be singing his last song on the show when it comes time for America to vote?

The X Factor USA Results Live Elimination Recap 11/17/11

On last night’s performance episode of The X Factor, the top ten competitors performed for Rock Week. While we would argue that some of the songs weren’t actually rock performances, there were some standouts. [Recap, Videos here]

Take Astro, for instance. He did an outstanding job that reminded me of his first audition on the show. He has a lot of charisma, which brings out his true talent. Having said that, we don’t actually believe that I’ll Be Missing You by Diddy is a rock song. If he would have done the original, it might have been better.

Another standout performance came from Josh Krajcik. You can really tell this cat was born to rock. One who surprised me with her lackluster performance was a former favorite, Stacy Francis. Her fan base might be enough to push her through to the top nine, but it’s teetering on the brink of elimination for us. Even though LeRoy Bell took his lumps for his Bob Seger performance, I still think he did a fine job.

Here’s who did what:

LeRoy BellWe’ve Got Tonight by Bob Seger
Rachel CrowI Can’t Get No Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones

For their precap, some of the contestants spoke about tonight’s theme, Rock! Astro said that he’s stepping out of his element and that he’s excited to show people that he can do more than just Hip Hop.

Melanie said she’s going to go in and have her rock face on. Yes! I’m hoping she rocks some Heart! Now that would be amazing.

LeRoy said that he’s hoping to push the envelope with the rock theme. Marcus said he’s on the fence with the rock theme, but if Tina Turner can do it — he can do it!

Rachel said that it’s almost like last week’s song, but it’s more upbeat with a retro vibe. She hopes we’ll enjoy her performance. Josh said that it has to be the right song and could prove to be a game-changer for him.

Chris said that this is a genre that he’s not used to, but he’s going to put his stamp on it and make it his. Drew said that to be rock n’ roll, you have to have that attitude in the way you express yourself.

Stacy said that she first heard the theme and thought she was going to get sent home, but also said that it’s exciting. Lakoda Rayne hopes to kick butt with a rock song and prove to America that they can only take their talent further.

by on Nov.10, 2011, under articles

The Stereo Hogzz's 'Ain't No Other Man' X Factor Performance Video 11/9/11

Earlier tonight, we covered the elimination results from tonight’s episode of The X Factor. Eleven acts walked out on stage and only ten were invited back for next week’s live performances.

The show’s host, Steve Jones, told us, in no particular order, who was getting pushed through. Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid, AGAIN, all breathed a sigh of relief when they heard all of their remaining contestants names called.

THE TOP TEN:

Stacy Francis
Astro
Melanie Amaro
Marcus Canty
LeRoy Bell
Rachel Crow
Josh Krajcik
Drew Ryniewicz
Chris Rene
Lakoda Rayne

It all came down to The Stereo Hogzz and Lakoda Rayne, after all of the other contestants’ names were called. After it was all said and done, the final showdown proved that The Stereo Hogzz were going home.

Do you think the right act was eliminated tonight? TAKE OUR POLL!

Poor Paula Abdul, having two of her acts in the bottom two for the second week in a row. I feel for her!
