As Hollywood Week is slowly grinding to a close tonight, we’ve got the list of those who have been chosen to progress to the next round on this season of American Idol. Have you been keeping up with the show? Certainly judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr. have their work cut out for them as they pick and choose who will stay and who will go home this season.
Without further ado, here is the list of men and women who have made it through so far:
Bria Anai Johnson
If the name Jillian Jensen sounds familiar, it’s because she auditioned for The X Factor in 2012. You can watch her audition for both shows below. First up, her X Factor audition:
Now, her American Idol audition:

We are displeased to announce the official cancellation of The X Factor USA. The show just recruited Paula Rubino, Kelly Rowland and Demi Lovato for its third season, but has announced that it will not be going forward for a fourth season. Ugh. What will Simon Cowell do now? Perhaps he just wants to concentrate on being a father?
This fall, the show would have made its return, but Simon has announced that he will continue on with the U.K. version of the talent competition. Simon revealed in a statement, “I’ve had a fantastic time over the last twelve years, both on The X Factor and American Idol. And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public – most of the time!”
It’s a shame to see Simon withdrawing his show from American television. Are you sad to see it go? Now that The Voice and American Idol will have no competition, which of the two will you be tuning into on a regular basis? Have your say in the comments section below!
Demi Lovato has officially confirmed reports stating that she is leaving The X Factor USA. Are you shocked? She has judged the talent alongside Simon Cowell for two seasons now, but the Disney starlet says that it is enough already.
On Wednesday evening she took to the red carpet on the show to confirm her plans to focus on her career as opposed to continue sitting in the judge’s chair. She revealed, “I started the show being a singer and a musician, and so I’m going to go back to that. It’s been really great but I’m so excited for 2014. I’m going to dedicate it completely and entirely to music, touring and making a new album.”
She said, “Being able to sit next to Kelly and Paulina and see them twice a week, and also helping mentor the contestants.”
The show’s creator, Simon Cowell added, “I always knew she wasn’t coming back because she’s touring, so I knew that.”
Have you liked Demi’s judging and mentoring abilities on the show these past two years? Or do you think that she is easily replaced as a seat warmer? Rumor has it that Simon is looking to snag Miley Cyrus to fill Demi’s spot on the popular talent competition. We’re guessing that if he is able to get Miley, he won’t be shelling out a mere million bucks for the privilege. What do you think? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below and tell us who you think would be a good fit to judge the competition next season.
