Nine Inch Nails plans tour hiatus

Trent Reznor says that the current tour that Nine Inch Nails is on will be the last set of live performances for the band for the near future. When the tour is over, Trent says that he basically doesn’t know when they’ll get back on the road. So basically, suck it up while you can.
He said on NIN’s official site, “This was an amazing tour and production – certainly the best thing I’ve ever been involved with and likely the final tour for Nine Inch Nails on this scale. The shows we have announced in 2009, and any more that may be announced, will be a completely different approach with some different personnel, and will likely be the last for the foreseeable future.”
Well doesn’t that just suck? I never got to see them live, though, but I wouldn’t mind doing so. Has anyone listened to The Slip yet? If so, what did you think of it?

Trent Reznor was talking about the retail version of N.I.N.’s album, Ghosts, and said that he found the first video for “God Given”.
He says, “Also, I was rummaging through the archives and found the first part of the “God Given†video we never finished. Enjoy!”
Gotta love it.

Another reason to like Trent Reznor
by roberta on Dec.08, 2007, under articles

On his blog, Trent had this to say:
While the music industry is doing everything they possibly can to go out of business, can we all make sure to rid ourselves of the Grammys, too? Out of touch old men jacking each other off.
ENOUGH!Have a nice day.
Yes! Do away with the Grammys!!
Trent Reznor says “Steal it.”
by roberta on Sep.20, 2007, under articles
I think Trent Reznor is fed up with the record companies charging fans an arm and a leg for his albums.
In this Youtube video, Trent asks the crowd if they’ve noticed the album prices coming down, and when he hears a resounding “No!”, his response? “Steal it”:
Trent rocks, plain and simple. It doesn’t help that he’s hot. (wink)
Trent Reznor and I slam the Smashing Pumpkins
by roberta on Aug.27, 2007, under articles

Ha. Just earlier today, I wrote the Eff Billy Corgan post and to read this! Hahaha
“I was never a big SMASHING PUMPKINS fan back when they were the PUMPKINS, not to shit on Billy or anything but I don’t hear anything that would make me want to care. I think trying to resurrect the name SMASHING PUMPKINS… it’s all a bit corporate for me.”

Trent Reznor doesn’t want you to get ripped off
by roberta on May.14, 2007, under articles
Via Blabbermouth, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor is ticked off about the pricing of his new album, Year Zero:
On the NIN official website, he has posted this:
“As the climate grows more and more desperate for record labels, their answer to their mostly self-inflicted wounds seems to be to screw the consumer over even more. A couple of examples that quickly come to mind:
* The ABSURD retail pricing of ‘Year Zero’ in Australia. Shame on you, UMG. ‘Year Zero’ is selling for $34.99 Australian dollars ($29.10 US). No wonder people steal music. AVRIL LAVIGNE’s record in the same store was $21.99 ($18.21 US).
“By the way, when I asked a label rep about this his response was: ‘It’s because we know you have a real core audience that will pay whatever it costs when you put something out — you know, true fans. It’s the pop stuff we have to discount to get people to buy.’ So… I guess as a reward for being a ‘true fan’ you get ripped off.
I had to add my two cents about this. I feel that it is a good thing when the actual artist sees what the music industry is doing to the consumer. This is crazy…..so as a reward for being a fan, you get screwed….And Avril Lavigne’s crap is discounted? Wha?
