Scott Weiland blames Velvet Revolver members’ wives for band split
by Roberta Ferguson on Mar.16, 2010, under articles
Scott Weiland fell out with Velvet Revolver and retreated back to Stone Temple Pilots to record some new material. Now, he’s coming out against the wives of the band members, saying that it’s their fault the band split up in the first place.
According to Spinner, the singer said, “Everyone was a rock star. There were petty jealousies. Then the wives got involved with the business of the band, and that was the beginning of the downfall. When Velvet Revolver first got together it was great. We had all been through the same experiences, and it felt like a gang.”
That’s funny, because I heard that the band kicked him out in favor of searching for a new singer. It’s not like their wives came between all of them.
What do you think?
Velvet Revolver is leaving their singer to fate
by Roberta Ferguson on Jun.15, 2009, under articles
What is taking so long with Velvet Revolver coming out with some new music already?!?? I saw them in concert and the whole freaking thing was electric, all the way down from Slash’s guitar skills to Scott Weiland’s singing into a megaphone.
The band says that they are in no hurry to make anything new, insisting they will regroup “when it is supposed to happen.” So I guess they want a singer to just fall from the sky?
Bassist Duff McKagan said, “Either you’ve got the guy or you’ve not and we’ve worked with some really talented guys. The trick is getting the chemistry right. Slash is making his solo record, which he’s desperately needed to do for years, so I’ll keep working with my other band Loaded, he’ll do that and music will happen when it’s supposed to happen. The right guy will fall into our laps when he is supposed to and maybe that’s why it hasn’t happened yet.”
How about them all working together to give Axl Rose another try? Is that reaching?
Scott Weiland is getting ready to release his solo album, Happy

Scott Weiland is gearing up for the release of his solo album, Happy, and is releasing a track called Paralysis. You can check out the track for yourself, here.
It reminds me a lot of a watered down David Bowie. You think that was the sound he was going for? I’d much rather listen to his Velvet Revolver stuff.

Newly reformed Stone Temple Pilots played for the first time in eight years last night. They only played a 30 minute, six song set in the Hollywood Hills…..I’m sure it rocked.
Even though STP didn’t really get a whole lot of attention in the 90′s, they’re set to blow up this time around. Especially after Scott Weiland and Slash really rocked out Velvet Revolver. And they rocked in concert, too.
If he can bring the same energy back to STP, I’ll go and see them live.
Are you an STP fan?
Scott Weiland hits back at Velvet Revolver rumors
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.02, 2008, under articles
And the feud continues!
Apparently, Scott Weiland didn’t care too much for the “veiled trickery” of his fellow ex-bandmates in Velvet Revolver.
Scott says in a statement to MTV.com, “After reading the comment by Duff, Matt, Dave and the illustrious Guitar Hero, Saul Hudson, a.k.a. Slash, I find it humorous that the so-called four ‘founding members’ of Velvet Revolver would decide to move on without me after I had already claimed the group dead in the water on March 20th in Glasgow.”
“In response to Slash’s comment regarding my commitment (to the band), I have to say it is a blatant and tired excuse to cover up the truth. The truth of the matter is that the band had not gotten along on multiple levels for some time. I choose to look forward to the future and performing with a group of friends I have known my entire life, people who have always had my back. This also speaks of my commitment to my music and my fellow bandmates in (Stone Temple Pilots) and to the fans who I feel would much rather watch a group of musicians who enjoy being together as opposed to a handful of discontents who at one time used to call themselves a gang.” Weiland goes on to warns fans not to be “fooled by veiled trickery” and offering up a suggestion for his replacement, saying, “I think Sebastian Bach would be a fantastic choice.”
Could you imagine Sebastian Bach fronting Velvet Revolver?!??
Update: Considering the alternatives, I actually could picture Bas as the singer in VR. He rocks!
Scott Weiland axed from Velvet Revolver
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.02, 2008, under articles
Velvet Revolver has given the axe to former frontman Scott Weiland because they say that he wasn’t committed to them 100 percent.
In a statement by the band, they say this about his departure:
“This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn’t 100 per cent committed to either. Among other things, his increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on.”
Stone Temple Pilots’ fans will be happy, though, because they’re planning to announce their reunion tour next week.
Stay tuned!
Scott Weiland leaves rehab
by Roberta Ferguson on Mar.04, 2008, under articles
Scott Weiland has been discharged from a rehab center after staying a full 28 days. The singer, who fronts both Velvet Revolver and the reformed Stone Temple Pilots is “doing well”, according to his attorney.
The singer had a long history of drinking and drug related problems, which have gotten him a DUI offense, as well as being caught buying crack. He also faces DUI charges after he was arrested in November.
At least he’s on the right track.
Stone Temple Pilots plan summer tour?
by Roberta Ferguson on Jan.26, 2008, under articles

According to sources, Scott Weiland told fans recently that he planned to reunite the Stone Temple Pilots to do a summer tour.
The official news was released by Velvet Revolver axeman, Slash. We haven’t heard of the deets on the reunion yet, but we’re hoping that they come to our neck of the woods! That would be rockin’!
And don’t think that because he’s doing stuff with STP, that Scott Weiland plans to leave Velvet Revolver any time soon. That’s not happening.
I saw VR in Cleveland a year or so ago and they rocked the house HARD, so it’d be a shame to walk away from that type of electricity on stage.
Tour deets to come upon availability.
Slash handled Axl Rose with kid gloves
by Roberta Ferguson on Nov.01, 2007, under articles

Slash has gone on the record to basically say that his ex-bandmate, Axl Rose is a mental case. Slash says that Axl once fell asleep on his mother’s couch and his grandmother had nowhere to sit. He tried to speak on the situation, but Axl hopped out of the car at 35-40mph.
Rocker SLASH had to treat his GUNS N’ ROSES bandmate AXL ROSE with “kid gloves” or risk the singer jumping out of moving vehicles. The guitarist learned early on that volatile Rose wasn’t a fan of criticism – when he threw himself out of a car after Slash reprimanded him for being rude to his mother. Rose was living with Slash in the mid-1980s and upset the guitarist’s family after taking offence to a polite request to move off a sofa he had fallen asleep on. Slash recalls, “One morning, I took off to work, and in the afternoon I guess he woke up and passed out on my grandmother’s couch. “I came home from work and my mom said, `You know, that guy Axl, I came home and he was asleep on the couch and grandma had nowhere to sit.’ “I told him he had to get up and whatnot, so he went downstairs.’ I thought I had to confront this issue. “So we got in the car and I very delicately put it that that was sort of rude. His reaction was to jump out of the car at about 35, 40 miles per hour on Santa Monica Boulevard. I realised what I’d said to him had offended him.”
Sounds like a nutjob to me.
